I've been looking for an ASUS zenbook with good specs lately, and this recently dropped in price. Great price especially since this has the 7th gen CPU. This is the cheapest price I've seen for it in the past month. Total cost is $699 + $19.34 USD Delivered to Melbourne

    • Have you got it yet?

UPS said parcel has not shipped from Amazon to them yet. Amazon confirmed its ok and they will ship on time. ALso Amazon confirmed the last leg in australia is handled by Aus post without tracking - eeek ! Hope nobody 'borrows' it….. If I had known this I would have selected a tracking courier instead like others.

    • It always freaks me out too but Amazon are pretty good if packages do happen to go missing.

One thing i recommend is getting the Amazon app and turning notifications on. I get notifications the second any of my amazon orders are delivered.

      • Today I learnt

    • The last laptop I bought from Amazon was dumped on the doorstep in the morning by Aus post. No signature or anything.
Miraculously it was still there after 5pm when my housemate came home…

  • Has anyone received theirs yet? Or can anyone who picked standard shipping confirm whether theirs also got returned to seller or went through?

I ordered mine Tuesday and the status is "Exported i-Parcel and in transit to country of destination". It didn't get stuck on "Your shipment has been flagged for review of the contents prior to export" like the others. fingers crossed it makes it the rest of the way…

      • Thanks mate. You picked standard shipping?

        • +1

          yep, standard shipping

      • Update: laptop made it to botany in aus

          Got mine just now. UPS.

        • Arrived today. 9 days for "standard" shipping from the US. pretty decent

  • If I purchase this with a debit card (AUD) but pay for it in USD will I get charged a conversion fee?

    • +1

depends what bank. most likely, yes. unless you are with citibank or 28 degrees. with commbank it's 3% IIRC

      • Thanks for that.

  • What are people doing about the charger? Any good suggestions?

    • Issue it is US plug?

      • Correct

    • Does the charger have a figure 8 connection like this? Maybe you've already got a spare one around like most of us gadget buyers do.

Edit: OK, ignore the above, just Googled it and that Asus charger is tiny and weak looking compared to all the bricks I'm used to lol.

  • great laptop
when i was trying to buy one, amazon didn't ship to australia.
sadly i purchased the i7 variant (without fingerprint reader) for ~$1200 from an eBay 20% off sale …

  • I got mine today finally but it doesn't have a backlit keyboard.. Which is why I wanted this model dam it.

    • mine was backlit. have you talked to amazon?

    • have you turned it on…? FN+F4

      • Yeah I was too quick on my comment :) beautiful screen I think

  • 7th generation CPU but still using DDR3? Why ASUS, why?!

  • Mine arrived today (I had mine express posted) - no issues using a basic international adaptor with it and it's working well so far :)

    • Yeah was looking for ways to avoid an adaptor. Almost looks like you could replace the plug on the charger but can't seem to get it off.

  • my one arrived via fast track (SYD). Courier left it at my door !
Oh well, no customs charges and it works like a dream. good buy !

  • re charger us pins, just add a $3 ebay adaptor and all fixed. Similar to this. You can supa glue on if it annoys you :)
