    I got this last November. I'd just booked a is return trip with virgin so that was even sweeter. I signed up that day and then waited.

    I hadn't heard heard anything back so in feb I followed up with velocity on their Facebook page. Don't know what happened but they had it sorted in a few days and now I'm gold for my trip! Yay.

      I got the invite just now, but unfortunately I don't have any trips planned that will take advantage of it. I'm already flying to Japan and Taiwan with my next leave coming up in a month, but with AirAsia. I'm flying Virgin to Darwin, but not until October. Hopefully they take a few months to process it like they did for you, so I can use it in October.

        Well that changed. I missed my flight from Tokyo to Taipei with Vanilla Air and had to rebook on Delta with a 7 hour wait. The Explore Gold status got me priority line access, lounge access and an upgrade to a Comfort Plus seat. I'm typing this as a drink as much beer, sake, spirits and french wine as possible in the lounge to recoup the $240 I had to pay to book a new flight.

          They're targetting people with elite status in other airlines. I'm curious how Virgin knows what elite status you have with oth airline or there's a way you can input that info.

      Why not just cash out the CrownBet amount at the casino? Basically 1,000 points is $10.00.

      Also, you can sell your Velocity points but that is 1c per point.

    What's the point of posting targeted offers? The people targeted obviously get notified. All this does is make those not targeted know what they're missing. Strange post. (I was targeted btw).

      That isn't always the case with targeted offers (users being notified) and even when they are it's possible users miss it, email goes to junk, don't receive the email, don't check that email account etc. We understand not everyone wants to see targeted offers however, please see instructions below:

      Same happened to me. It said the offer had expired. However yesterday I unexpectedly received my gold membership. I am red velocity and am not in any other reward programs. Immediately jumped onto my account and yes, it says Gold, so I found my existing booking and could upgrade my seat for my next domestic flight. 😀Looking forward to the lounge. Apparently they are sending a temporary gold card!

    @holdenmg - Did not no crownbet had a deal with velocity, i got a ton of points can transfer so thats not bad :)

    Also for anyone else, crownbet rewards do have a sign up bonus where you can get 5000 rewards points for free (equivilant to $50) (no gambling account is required - so hopefully is okay to post here) which if converted to velocity points is a free 2500 according to the calculator on crownbet rewards page :)

      But hang on. What is worth more. $50 cash in hand for the Velocity points you transfer across which would at best be worth 1c per point.

      I just had a look at the exchange rate and 1,000 crown points ($10 cash effectively) gets you 500 velocity (or $5 @ 1c per point). Even with a bonus point it is not worth it.

        And to technically get the $50 cash you need to go into the casino. So if cant or dont have access to that, ideally you need somthing from the rewards store :)

    I've become a "temporary" gold member 3 days ago, unfortunately, I will be travelling with cathy pacific to Hong kong in 3 weeks. I may not be able to maintain my temporary gold status.

    One needs to get just 80 status credits (which is very appealing) within 3 months to maintain fully gold status.
