Sennheiser Headphones >50% OFF HD518, HD280 Pro $60, $75 @ Officeworks (Instore Only)

210

Not sure on stock levels at stores, because it seems to be one of their deleted lines, not on the website.

At Officeworks, in store only, these are a bargain

There were only 3 of each at my store.

Sennheiser HD518 - $60, RRP somewhere near between $150-$200

https://en-au.sennheiser.com/audio-headphones-stereo-hifi-tv…

  • Removable cord
  • Not too tight
  • Nice full bass
  • Still reasonably good Mids and Highs.

  • Needs an adapter or buy another cable for 3.5mm (adapter comes with it)

Sennheiser HD280 PRO - $75 RRP $179

https://en-au.sennheiser.com/hd-280-pro

  • Coiled Cord
  • Foldable
  • Does not leak sound
  • Bit tighter on the head
  • More accurate sound reproduction, less bass, clearer vocals strings etc.

I bought both to test them, to see which one I wanted more. Tested them both with an AMP, and Computer and Phone.

I liked the HD518s better, more just because they sounded more full, make you smile sound. Sounded better on the phone, which I will use them most on.

If you were doing audio engineering, or running a dedicated amp, maybe get the HD280s.

Each to their own. I would have been happy either way I think.

  • How long are the audio cords on both of them?

    • Pretty long for the 518.
      EDIT: 3m from Amazon's specifications.

    • Yes 3m(1m coiled) on the 280, 3m straight on the 518.

  • Which store did you se them?

Called around the local stores near me, (profanity) yeah got a set of HD 518 for $60. Thanks!

FWIW some places around me (VIC - western suburbs) still had some stock.

They have a single pair of each at Fitzroy, Vic location. They are under my name but have decided not to get them if someone else's wants em. Under name of Paul

  • Got the HD518 a few days ago from Frankston VIC for $60.
It was the last one on the shelf and I don't recall seeing any HD280 or other headphones marked on clearance.
Quite happy with it for the price.

    • why does that review say the 518 has a mic?

  • Does anyone have a receipt for the HD 280 pro price? I'm at an officeworks shop but their price for it is $99 not $75 :(

      • This one went from 188>129>99

    • Got it for $75 the clearance ticket they had didn't even scan lol the sales person eventually manage to scan it and it was actually priced at $75 the manager was okay as well when I showed the receipt @smpantsonfire gave me. :D Thank you!

  • Haha damn this is a good deal! Guessing carnigie will be all sold out by the time I'm back in the country on Tues though

  • Picked up the last set of hd518s from Glebe (did not see the 280s on the shelves). Shelf price $79 but scanned at $60. Wouldve been an awesome deal even at 79. Thanks poster!

  • Doesn't seem to include all senheisser at all stores. Just called Bunbury WA about RS120ii and they said they are just the usual price of $149.

  • I managed to find one 280 on the stock shelf at Bourke st (not on the retail shelf), last one i think, so stoked :)

    Thankyou

  • OP thank you.

I picked up a HD518 from Mulgrave store for $40. Last one there but some other models on clearance but just not as discounted.

It is a present for an elderly relative as she was having problems with earphones on her iPad.

    • Great to see this still giving!
