Decent price, I sold my Maestria late last year for $300 used so this price is great and it's the Grand version with the Aerochinno which is $100 on its own

Overall it's the best Nespresso machine I had used until I got the Creatavista ;)

    • I don't believe this had a steam wand though, which is what made the Maestria great.

      • Ahhh your right it doesn't

That's a big disappointment and they call this the Grand version

        • Yeah - it's a bit misleading, IMO.

I too thought it had both the steam wand and Aeroccino - having said that, it wouldn't really make sense to have to methods of creating milk on one machine.

        • @dbun1: The wand wasn't so great tho, nothing like the Creatavista which is simply their best machine ever

But yer they should have had the 2 options rather then just the Aeroccino

        • @Twisty:

Yeah - I never saw the point in this machine as an Inissia + Aeroccino would do the same thing with much less bench space. Cheaper too.

        • @dbun1:

Only difference would be adjusting the volume etc

I thought the coffee all tasted the same out of these Nespresso machines, cheap or expensive? So unless you like the look and prefer quality materieials over cheapish plastic, what exactly makes this one 'great'?

    • impulse buy

    • i always thought you could get away with the cheapest nespresso machine possible cause the pods cost a shit load

    • This is what I don't get. I got my nespresso for $89 from cotd 2 years ago. Still running strong. Why do people spend multiples of this on a machine where the pods are all the same? A friend of mine tried to justify spending $800 on one of these to me the other day. I had to bite my tongue.

      • Depends what you want though.

The more expensive machines will froth milk automatically and even have a proper steam want. The milk produced is many times better than the Aeroccino. That is why people buy the more expensive machines

If all you drink is an espresso then the cheapest machine will get the job done.

        • So a milk frother is worth hundreds of dollars?

          Still don't get it.

        • @blergmonkeys:

It's not that hard to understand.

If you mainly drink milk based coffees, then some people value a better milk texture which the more expensive machines produce.

    • There is no difference. I've asked staff countless of times and they all say the machines inside are mechanically identical. It's just how the milk is prepped.

As for this machine, I believe it has got a cup warmer and the overall build is more sturdy, in comparison to the $80 ones which feel more plastic-y.

  • This looks like a bloody big machine. Can you remove the 'sides' of the base and just have the actual machine part?

Overall this machine is not great

Too big and bulky for what it is.

    Is it really $900 RRP?

That's way too expensive for something with no integrated milk frother.
