  • Existing customers!? Maybe not I am assuming.

    • No chance.

  • Can this be linked to any accountant or do they need to be somehow accredited by Xero?

Also would like to hear reports from anyone using this as a mobile POS…

Also can this offer be set up to start in a month or two… more?

Do you still get the first month free?

  • then they start charging you full price forever, online account software is a rip off, the prices MYOB and Xero charge are awful

    • and also start harvesting your data.

    • Compared to what? Can anyone confirm or deny this?
What would you suggest as an alternative for example?

      Thanks.

Charging you for monthly for hosting, backups, software updates, support, importing bank feeds nightly. How dare they!

My case I bought a copy of myob 4 years ago $300 I think and have not paid a cent since.

If I was paying the standard $50 a month for a 'online' would have cost around $2400….

I manually at my bank records and backup my file to my google drive.

I can't see how these companies justify the price for such minimal services.

        • I'll have a better look. I can only imagine support from Xero (& linked accountant) compared to MYOB would differ greatly?
IOW what support can one expect from MYOB. I would imagine it is for the more experienced biz' owner who is well across
taxation and aspects of accounting. Whereas a newer small business owner might benefit given said support via Xero/Accountant.

          Thank you.

If you want to spend man hours on a task that can be automated then that is up to you.

You are also comparing 2 completely different products.

Can your 4 year old MYOB send recurring email invoices? Does it include SuperStream? Can employees log in and check their leave? Can you email forward PDF receipts straight to MYOB and attach them to an invoice?

      • I had no idea. Thanks, but again… any suggestions otherwise?

Nope. Have used them all before. Was also in the MYOB LiveAccounts (now called Essentials) since beta but it's a POS. Xero is such a polished piece of software and they are continually adding features.

        • @zuccs: I regret I may have rushed through when reading your previous comment. It appears you are a supporter of Xero. I do wish the OP had chimed in and answered a few more of the questions as Xero is currently high on my list of considerations. Though Dono's comments have had me looking at MYOB. Seems they've streamlined it to better compete with the plethora of competitors is has these days.

          @Chris Farley:

Haha, sorry, that was sarcastic. Xero is brilliant. Been using it since 2010.

        • @zuccs: Sole Trader? You've been with them for 7+ years then and giving them a very good wrap. I'm really struggling between using a banking institutions mobile POS system as a tradesman or Xero with Square and linked to an accountant. :oS
          Too much information… gahhhh!

        • @Chris Farley: Just received the coupon code via email and posted here. Unfortunately I don't have the answers to your questions but I'm sure someone else does have. Cheers!

        • @Chris Farley: One more piece of information. If you already have an accountant you might be able to get a discount by purchasing your subscription through them. Xero offer between 15-30% off (ongoing) for their accountant partners, some accountants pass on this saving whilst others don't. MYOB and Reckon also offer a similar program for their accountant partners (for both desktop and online products), I'm not sure of the exact percent for these two off the top of my head.

        • @hutsy: I very much appreciate you adding that hutsy'. Will keep in mind should as I expect to be checking out about 3 accountants over the next couple of days.

          Best regards.
