Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge $625.59 / S7 $550.39 - Dick Smith / Kogan eBay

1250
CYBER

Best price for the 32GB S7 Edge I've seen so far, and one of the cheapest for the S7.

Yes, they are 'grey imports', but at least Dick Smith / Kogan are a bit easier to deal with (imo) than some of the international sellers from HK.

  • Great price for this phone. Too bad I have 2 phones already. Should look at other Kogan stuff if Cyber is applied to all of their items.

    • Yeah some good discounts on items that rarely go on discount otherwise, such as the surface pro deal posted recently.

    • yeah ….. my current phone only 6 months old dohhh.

  • Does Samsung pay work on grey import things?

    • Yes it does, so long as Knox hasn't been tripped. Then again, it's a brand new device so this shouldn't be an issue.

      • -2

Could be open-box and previously flashed by kogan or their supplier

  • +2

Excellent price and very tempting. Must resist for the new S8 next month.

    • +2

Get ready to pay double then.

      • Less with a 20% ebay code.

    • Have they announced that its gona come? Or rumours?

    • Would you expect a lot more S6/S7 deals to come out (maybe even from non-grey imports) when the S8 is out? Thinking if I should buy this S7 Edge now, or stick it out and wait for the authentic models to come out for similar prices.

      • That's what I'm waiting for.

There's a lot of uncertainty with this one like is it Snapdragon or Exynos? Is it unlocked?

  • -2

Blah. Just got a used s6 edge for $390 shipped with 12 months warranty. 64gb.

  • +1

    Not bad m8

    • That's gr8

  • no bonus gear fit2

  • I posted this question in the forums, but does anyone know which model this is?
    Is this the G935F perhaps?

    • Yeah I'm keen to find out as well as the ad states both snapdragon and exynos in the description.

    • +1

My S7 edge from Kogan is exynos version

      • could you link us to the listing you bought it from?

        • It was from around September last year and direct from Kogan website so not really gonna help you now I'm afraid

    • Sorry, replying to wrong comment

  • -7

    boooom…

    • They've got an absolutely horrendous reputation if you do some digging.

    • +11

Member since '4hrs 32 min ago' Secret android enjoyed rep in disguise?

  • Not much more for the S7 Edge DUAL SIM - I believe both are the same specs. The inferior snapdragon version was only aimed at the Chinese market according to google.

    • +1

2G will be phased out of Australia by the end of this year so the 2nd sim becomes useless as it only uses 2G network.
So don't spend extra unless you really need the 2nd sim slot in the upcoming months only

      • +1

        Telstra 2G already off

      • +2

Pretty sure the SD820 dual SIM phones now support 1 SIM 4g/3g and the other 3g as well. My Le Max 2 does it fine and so does the Zuk Z2 and Mi5 from what I've read.

      • 2nd sim slot works for 3G now.

    • I bought the dual sim s7 edge in the 10% sale the other week:

      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/131869274987

I flashed the Aussie rom (had never done this before on a phone, was nervous but read all the instructions and it worked fine) and samsung pay and 4G+3G is also working.

The phone is so slippery though, I bought a candyshell case that makes it feel much sturdier and safer (I had a note 4 beforehand so I'm more used to a chunkier phone).

      • Do you know it was G935F?

        • The Kogan one I'm not sure. I purchased the one I linked to above, which was the FD.

      • Can you share the website link you used to flash Aussie ROM? I am waiting for my S7 dual sim and might need to do the same to get 3G working on the second sim. cheers.

  • 2 questions before I buy the edge

    • Are all Australia bands covered?
    • Will Samsung pay work?

    Thanks

    • +1
      • if it is the G935F model, it should have all Oz bands covered. That's the same model that gets sold here I believe.
      • I see no reason why Samsung Pay shouldn't work if it's a brand new device and Knox hasn't been tripped.

      HTH

    • I got the G935F exynos version from Kogan a few months ago. Probably you'd get the same but who knows for sure

    • According to the specs given, no 700Mhz band. This could be an issue with some providers/areas eg. Telstra

  • G935F or not?

  • argh…. edge or non edge?
vaya is a bit cheaper. who is more reputable ?

    • +1

Kogan were actually very good the 3 times I had to return my LG G4.

    • I was tempted to buy it off vaya but was put off by them only having 3 reviews.

      • I think Vaya have just opened Ebay store recently hence they have 3 reviews I suppose…
I guess their service would be more or less same as Kogan as far as warranties are concerned….

        • Kogan provided free postage back to Australian address which helps things. Not sure if Vaya handle locally like that

    • Edge is much more slippery and harder to even pick up off a table.

In my experience, Kogan was a nightmare for claiming a faulty S3 on arrival.

    • Better battery life with the edge, but harder to hold without touching the edge screen with your hand

If you use a case it's not an issue

  • i just returned my powerloop lg g4.not sure how long before they give me credit. hope they can give it to now so i can buy this.

    • I had same thing and got Kogan store credit. It's not going to work on eBay unfortunately

      • damn it! what can i use it for then?

        • Should've pushed for a cash refund

  • looks like the edge supports more bands. e.g 700

    4G Network (MHz)
    LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 12(700), 13(700) - SIM 1

I can't see 700 listed for non edge version

    • It's the wrong 700mhz. Australia uses Band 28 700mhz.

    • This version I bought comes with 700Mhz. Lets hope it supports Band 28 as I am with ALDI(Telstra). In fact to be honest, In Central Adelaide, I have found TPG to have the same if not slightly better coverage than Aldi. As I have just changed providers, I havent been further out to test the coverage more. eg. Hahndorf, The Coorong, Barossa. I am sure Aldi is better overall. Looking forward to my S7 Edge ETA Wednesday. Good luck everyone!

  • Free GearFit 2 or no free Gear Fit 2, that's all I want to know? :P

    • No. As has been asked and answered throughout the promotion.

  • so neither phone has band 28?

    • Probably 60% will say it supports. 30% say Not, and 10% not sure.
Kogan would have mentioned this clearly if they actually know.

And worse, some people simply assume it is working with Telstra, so it must be using band 28……..

  • Just purchased the wife one, and a genuine S-View Case. She's on Vodafone, do they even use B28 anyway? Upgrading from a Note 4 starting to show it's age.

    • Are you 'the husband' who purchased 'the wife' one ?

      • Uh yes, is that strange?

        • I think its your wife.

    • Voda does not use B28

      • Awesome, no worries at all then.

  • +1

Why would you buy one outright from Kogan even at this price, when you could get the S7 on Optus 7GB plan for $48.75/mth? Guaranteed brand new Australian version.. No "open box","overseas","grey"/"gray","(direct)import" nonsense..

    • What plan is this? Cheapest I found was $65/mth

        • Have they changed it? Best I'm seeing is $62.75 for 5.5gb or 63.75gb

EDIT: viewing on my phone and wasn't loading , see it now

        • @mikey31:
where are you people finding the 48.75 a month
with the 25% discount the cheapest is 58.75

        • @mikey31:
          oh nvm lmao
the op was talking about s7 not the s7 edge

    • -2

Optus android software is aids. Enjoy additional bloat.

      • There's one My Optus app that can be uninstalled.
If you don't like the Optus boot logo you can always flash the generic Australia firmware.

  • do you have a link to this optus deal? what's the contract length? I'm on Telstra. is phone locked to optus

    • see above

  • Ask Kogan to guarnatee in writing if it's the SM-G930F (S7) or SM-G935F (S7Edge) IT almost seems like Kogan don't actually know what they are selling half the time.

I've got the former, overall, satisfied but not blown away. Camera oversharpens horribly and stuffs about with colouring is my main gripe. Great battery life and commendable RAM handling, I can leave apps open in background for hours without having to re-open them.

    • You could take photos in RAW and edit after.

      • Or buy a camera.

  • You can wipe your ass with the warranty paper that comes in the box, else if it doesn't fail - good buy

    • that might be painful …(just like the needing to make a warranty claim)… :P

  • Too hard to resist, bought an S7 Edge from Vaya already and second one from Kogan. Let's see which one arrives first!

    • my money is on Kogan, i got my phone and a phone for my wife from them (mind you a while a go now similar ebay sale) and it was about 3-5 days by the time i got them both.

      • Agreed, Kogan delivers quickly compared to Vaya. They take up to 4-6 weeks to deliver. Bought my Note 3 from Kogan three years ago, worked for three years without any issues. Now I had to kill it to upgrade!

  • Is it worth buying the edge now, or does anyone think the price will drop further after the announcement of the s8?

    • gonna drop further the longer you wait

      • +11

Wait until the S12 is release and these will be pretty cheap then.

  • is there also a silver import available? i wanted to get the phone in silver not grey
