  The two cheapest are arc only - I've always used MIG or TIG for aluminium welding. But then I found this: http://hildstrom.com/projects/stickaluminum/.

  If you are looking to weld aluminium I can recommend the Lincoln 180c. You will need to buy the spool gun though to use the correct wire. I have this machine but am upgrading to the 200c. The 180c is a proven welder, and setup for the DIY'r in that you have 2 dials, 0-9 A-G and you use the chart on the lid to set the machine up for the metal and thickness you are welding. This is MIG welding though, not TIG.
  
  I can't comment on the Arc welders whether you can do aluminium.
