Thanks. Just got a tracking number of my purchase of 3 mice.

    • +1

just being curious, why you need 3?

      • One for each hand…

        • how do you know tvtn is man not girl?

      • 1 for work, 1 for home, 1 as a gift

  • Any other pricing error Good Guys bargains we can spend this $20 credit on? :D

    • hahaha you are awesome!!!

  • +7

cancelled but got $20 voucher. would have liked this mouse, I hate my current one. But good on GG fot handling this promptly and providing a $20 voucher unlike Grays Online who take days or weeks and give nothing in return and lie about stock they dont have.

    • -4

Yer, except what they've done is illegal.

Here is section 35 of the competition and consumer act.

      35 Bait advertising

               (1) A person must not, in trade or commerce, advertise goods or services for supply at a specified price if:

                       (a) there are reasonable grounds for believing that the person will not be able to offer for supply those goods or services at that price for a period that is, and in quantities that are, reasonable, having regard to:

                                (i) the nature of the market in which the person carries on business; and

(ii) the nature of the advertisement; and

                       (b) the person is aware or ought reasonably to be aware of those grounds.

Note: A pecuniary penalty may be imposed for a contravention of this subsection.

               (2) A person who, in trade or commerce, advertises goods or services for supply at a specified price must offer such goods or services for supply at that price for a period that is, and in quantities that are, reasonable having regard to:

                       (a) the nature of the market in which the person carries on business; and

                       (b) the nature of the advertisement.

When I ordered it, I was given no understanding that there was limited stock and that my order may not be filled. Its their obligation to ensure they have stock to meet the demand. I think I will ask for a raincheck so they can honour the price when it comes back into stock.

      • +2

Pricing errors happen and most people just let it go.
But they have shot themselves in the foot with this "ran out of stock" claim since people have still seen them on shelves at full price and staff will probably confirm they have been told to hide them out the back now.

They probably are open to a dispute on the grounds that they are cancelling backorders and not admitting an error.

Free $20 goodwill though, so not many would make it an issue.

        • +2

I do agree that they shouldnt be claiming it was run out of stock given people have purchased and it doesnt sound that unreasonable as they could have just been wanting to move stock, I also would like to receive the mouse and happy to wait for stock. Will watch the thread and see how they handle it.

      • +1

What if they don't do raincheck? are we force them to?
I'd rather have my mouse than the $20 voucher, which only valid for 7days.

        • what you can force them to do is limited.
in theory, your best course of action would be to buy it from anywhere, and then sue them for the cost to remedy on the basis that they did not fulfil the contract you had with them. the difficult part of establishing there is a contract with these kinds of purchases is that you need to prove they gave your offer to buy consideration and then acceptance. I got an email to say order received, but no further status to say order processing.

you can complain to the ACCC who may investigate on the back of enough complaints, and then fine thegoodguys, but that wont get you your mouse.

      • +3

        quantities that are, reasonable

It's not illegal to unexpectedly run out of stock if you had "reasonable" stock levels…
The number of people commenting that their order was successful (mine was not) is sufficient enough for me to believe that they did have a "reasonable" amount.
I for one am surprised at the level of interest in this deal!

They are also not offering an alternate product at the same or increased price, so there is no bait and switch.

      • let it go…let it go….let it goooooooooo

  • +2

You get $20, you get $20, everyone gets $20!

  • any TGG representative here can tell us the story behind?

  • +1

.. quietly hopeful that I will get mine shipped since I've not received any notifications whatsoever? Although I wouldn't be too annoyed if I'd gotten a $20 store credit, cos it is quite a nifty mouse.

    • I got refunded, but no voucher :(

  • +1

Got the refund notice too. :(((((

Any suggestions what to spend the $20 on?

  • Refund notice here too. I didn't really need the mouse as it was just a back up but the price was too hard to pass up so $20 credit is a bonus… but still think I would have really preferred the mouse.

  • +2

I got the email.. lady with the thumbs up sign.. should be thumbs down.

  • I got the cancellation email too… Bummer. I actually do need a new mouse. Can someone recommend another one?

    Thanks

If you're specifically after Bluetooth like I am,
I'll be buying another couple of Tecknet Bluetooth Mouse's for $12 each from AliExpress in an hour and a half when their sale starts.
It will replace my current TeckNet that has a bodgey Scroll Wheel after I dropped it.
It's been a great mouse for the past 12 months or so. Used daily at work.
Decent battery life using a single AA Eneloop.

      • Ok. Thanks. How long does the sale go for?

This deal together with the Grays Online SSD fiasco - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/296253, I wonder if we should rename OzBargain to OzCancellations or Oz$20RefundVouchers.

  • +2

There is still hope. I ordered before this deal was posted so really early and only now got the order dispatched notification and courier tracking link.

  • Will this be waterproof for the swimming leg of the triathlon?

    • Worth a tri.

    • No, but it looks impressive down the front of your speedos

  • Bait Advertising/ fair trading/ ACCC/ comments starting now….

  • +1

Damn, was looking forward to getting a new mouse. I got the refund/cancel email.. and have no idea what to put $20 towards before the 4th.

  • -6

They allow about 7 days before the vouchers expire

  • +3

    sooooooo
some people spent their hard earned $20 to get a mouse that might just collecting dust.
some people get $20 for free (or 5 mins their time)

who is the winner here? im confuse

    • Both? :)

    • -4

There is no problem with the 20$ voucher but the 7 day expiry makes it into a bait and switch

    • Ended up using my $20 on a Logitech M235 that has stock in local TGG for C&C — comes down to $3.95. Win!

      • Decent mouse with unifying receiver. $3.95 is a Bargain. Winning!

    • Got my wife a citrus juicer with my $20 voucher, making her collect it from store :)

      https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/kambrook-citrus-juicer-600ml-…

      • Did you tell her you just pulled that juicer out from nowhere?

        • +3

She was impressed with the story. She's easily impressed :)

In all seriousness though a free item for nothing more than goodwill. Can't really complain.

      • Awesome,

        Got the Juicer also!!!

  • +1

    my order just got shipped.

    • what time did you order?

      • Around 9:50

        • damn. i ordered at 9:30 & got the refund email -.-

        • @onesimpleclik: very strange

        • @onesimpleclik: I ordered at 8:53, paid with PayPal. Order was refunded…

  • +1

Gutted, received email advising order cancelled as they have run out of stock. I read somewhere is was a pricing error, but that does not match my email response, shouldn't they just order more.

  • .. still waiting. No email notifications whatsoever. Would expect after a whole day you'd get a notification. Oh well, gimme that $20 credit then

  • -7

Also received cancellation email & $20 store credit, on the basis of "out of stock". Been having TERRIBLE customer service from this business on my last 2 encounters with them, so i'll surely be getting in touch with them (wouldn't have bothered otherwise) and being the biggest hassle I can possibly be.

I propose that if enough of us complain about the little fib we were told, we'll get the mouse :)

    • +2

being the biggest hassle I can possibly be.

What's your problem? There was an error and more were sold than they had. Mistakes happen. They have refunded your money, which all they have to legally do. They've also given you $20 credit to apologise…This is great customer service imo.

      about the little fib

      What fib?

      • Like I said, my problem is the customer service I received on a previous occasion that was never resolved.

The fib: "We have runout of stock due to unexpected demand"

        What's your problem?

        • If it was that terrible why go back? Now they've given you exemplary customer service. So either don't go back and bicker or accept the fact that sometimes individuals in a large company drop the ball and move on..

        • Good point dynamike, very stupid of me to purchase from them again.

          Lesson learnt I guess.

  • +1

$20 credit for 3 minutes work = win.

  • -3

Does anyone know if afl live pass is working with chromecast this season? Thinking of picking one up for the footy.

  • have been thinking about getting this one. now it is out of stock. can i say the F word?

  • the gooodless guys

  • Lucky here…. .ordered 2 for click and collect, called an hour later as ready for collection, and picked up later that day… so Bargain price for a mouse well worth triple the price.

I use a MX Master at home - BRILLIANT Mouse - this is perfect for work and similar look and feel, but a tad cheaper (and Bluetooth is a lovely bonus, so no more dongle)

  • .. one day later. Still waiting. Am I the only one who hasn't gotten any form of confirmation / cancellation?

  • I havent got a cancellation email yet?

    • yeh I got in the junk email dam.

  • Got email saying ready for collection. Got another email with no notes saying invoice attached, when I opened the file it is a Sales Order with cancellation. No further email to explain cancellation, refund or store credit. So I'm unsure of the status…

  • Thanks.
Looks like they're still processing the cancellations.
Time to look on TG(less)G's website to see what I can get for the $20 store credit

  • Got mine in the post today.

  • Anyone still waiting for shipping confirmation from Belmont WA? I placed my order around 10am yesterday and still waiting.

  • I ordered it on the ebay link instead of the store link. No cancellation emails. Mine is being shipped from Darwin and just got the confirmation notice from GG and Auspost that it is on its way! $28 bargain for an $80 mouse.. :) $8 postage is worth it in this case..

    • +1

This is because from the website, it will not tarnish their sales. But with eBay. If they declined. They have a whole ebay reputation to risk. Which will ultimately be a loss in sales by altering the listing order

      • That is true. But this is probably the evidence against this offer being a pricing error. Considering it was the same price both in Ebay and on their website. Whilst there are some links, they are not directly related. The chance of both them being pricing error is low - not to mention that they honoured as much as they can with whatever stock they have left (hence mine is coming from Darwin).

      • -1

I bought from their website and it got delivered yesterday… I don't think your eBay theory is 100%..

  • Ah, I rang GG Belmont WA and they said it's being delivered today, so it looks like I made it. But it will be through Australia Post standard mail so it will probably take one week to reach NSW.

  • I got an email from PayPal saying I got a refund, but I have not received anything from Good Guys explaining why.

    • Same for me, I rang them and am now waiting for some action
      1300 466348

      • I received this email from them when I said "hey there, where were my reasons for the cancel?":

        Thanks for your enquiry.

Unfortunately due to stock levels most of these orders were unable to be fulfilled, you would have received an email from The Good Guys advising of such.

Please note that as a remedy, all customers who had an order cancelled will be issued a store credit of $20.00.

We do apologise for any inconvenience caused.

      • check you spam/ junk folder

        • It wasn't in the spam/junk, but it certainly was in my inbox somewhere.

          My gmail-fu has failed me.

Still, nice of them to respond that they'll give everyone $20

        • @Droz: it was in my Gmail "promotions" folder. If you have that switched on

  • Thanks OP for this deal. Mouse delivered today - ordered through TGG website. Able to "alt tab" via the slide click and the scroll wheel is super responsive. A huge upgrade on the stock standard mouse I use to use for work. Cheers

  • I received the mouse today - have not opened it yet but there is an empty plastic mould at the back of the packaging.

Appears to be missing the Bluetooth dongle/Nano receiver.

Wonder if this is really why it was going for $19.95?

    • +3

That empty mould bit is for stabilising the packaging for display. The receiver is inside the mouse in the battery section and not visible from outside.

      • thank you - that was straight off the rack :o))

  • Edit:
Money was refunded, and I found that email with the $20 store credit (it was sitting in the "Promotions" folder of Gmail. Oh well, let's see what else is on bargain

  • $20 code can be used online?

    • +1

Yes but you better hurry, mine ends today
