  • $65.25 per month for 24 months on the 1GB plan. Seems like a mistake. Should be $77.

Note: Reps are giving a 25% discount off the plans only.

  • And where is the bargain if you don't even know details/prices?

    • +2

Hey just a heads up post for those looking to get the S8 as the Optus deal ends today, if it bothers you report it to mods get it removed couldn't care less

    • I've added the prices from the comments in the other deal. OP please add any other plans with prices.

      • Thanks mod, will do when I come across prices..

        • Nevermind, I've done/doing it.

        • @neil: thanks good work

The 15gb plan looks like a good choice. Plenty of data plus the inclusion of uncounted data with streaming services. If data doesn't matter so much then the woolies deal looks good alternative.

    1GB plan

    LOL really Optus, so generous.

    • I'm actually getting this one. Going to give sim to family member who will share the 1GB in our larger family data pool.

  • This is;

    1GB 3.5GB
    S8 $61.5 $66.75
    S8+ $65.25 $73.5

So unless you're choosing the ridiculous 1Gb of data it's cheaper to get this deal.
Which again is $65 or $69 with 4GB for the S8 or S8+.

    • The higher GB plans more then likely Optus would be the better choice

  • Isn't it 25% off the plan fee only ie S8 on 1GB plan would be $30 (plan) + $47 (handset) =$77?

    • Thought so too.

Unless the reps didn't read the T&Cs properly, Aced21 from the F&F deal also got quoted the full 25% off on the $87 for the S8+… And it seems like the discount can be applied manually from their end.

  • oh man this is tempting

  • I've just contacted Optus and it is for the PLANS ONLY, not the handset repayments. I think the member in the other thread got lucky. Will adjust prices.

  • damn, just got the s7 edge with them 3 weeks ago. s8+ looks god damn nice…..

    • Makes the S7 edge look old already hey…

  • Isnt this deal for new optus customers only?

    • +3

Seems that way. No offers for current customers. Way to look after your current customers

Be mindful that to be eligible for this deal you need to activate the service by 30/04, and if you don't, you will be paying full price.

I preordered a Nexus 6P with Optus back in 2015. I received the phone a week after the release date, after many difficult phone calls and chat sessions (also had issues with billing).

    • -1

Are you sure? I was told by rep we can delay activation beyond 31st March and still got the deal as long as the contract is in. Thanks

      • +1

yes, you can delay it as long as the end of April but this phone will be released a few days before the 30th, plus transit time, you will risk paying the full price.

        • Ah ok, i actually decided to opt for an iphone 7 for my wife. Will activate on 4th April or somewhere around there. Should be safe to retain the discount i assume? Thanks

      • 30/04 = 30th April.

  • You'll be good "Family and friends who sign up by 31 March 2017, must activate their new service by 30 April 2017." Got 9 days after the 21st if so. They post them out early they informed me.

    • Yeah, they also told me i would have my Nexus 6P on release day after preordering it. I got it a week after launch. Do not believe everything you are told by Optus.

  • Is there a way to switch to this plan from an existing Optus plan without paying additional fees?
Haven't gone through T&C yet. cheers

  • +2

I wish they would allow current customers to get this deal :( I'm at the end of my contract and want to upgrade. Way to reward loyalty!

    • Same. My Note 4 contract ended almost 6 months ago.. have been holding off for the S8 or Note 8. No way I'm paying the ridiculous prices after I've seen these :(

  • Would they still give $20 discount if you have a broadband connection with them, along with 25% off plan?

    • +2

      Yes

      • Yeah but not the mobile broadband tho, only the wireless 200GB for $80 deal. I asked that in the chat the other day. Thanks

    • I got told if you have broadband and signed up after may 2nd 2016 you are eligible for the $20 discount on the broadband bill. If not you have to recontact the broadband

      From their website:

Optus NBN, Cable, DSL Direct, Optus Reach and our Home Wireless broadband plan are eligible as long as these services can be connected at your address. In addition to your eligible mobile phone plan, you need to purchase one of these plans after May 2, 2016 to receive this $20 bundle discount. Customers who purchased one of our broadband plans before this date need to recontract to a new plan to be eligible.

Customers who have an eligible Optus mobile plan and eligible Optus home broadband plan at the same billing address in the same name are eligible for this $20 discount.

  • Could anyone get through to the Chat page? I can't seem to go through.

    • Chrome didn't work for me last night. Edge browser and Firefox did.

  • is there student discount as well?

  • Okay so, I just ordered one on the $80 plan. I got the email receipt and everything. But nowhere on the order it states of the 25% discount. is this normal? Also, does anyone know if there's a cooling off period and if it applies after I receive it or from today itself? (In case the discount isn't applied). Thanks in advance!

    • +1

thats normal doesnt show the discount but it is applied from the "2nd bill", no idea about cooling off period

      • +1

Thanks bud for the prompt response!

    • +1

Cooling off period is 30 days from when you receive your phone

      • Awesome! Thanks for that bud. Might have to read the contract more clearly ;)

  • Ordered the S8 plus. Insurance is very steep at $14 per month!

  • If anyone wants my referral link, I got one….. reply and ill message you!

  • Ordered the S8 on the 8GB plan.

  • Managed to get the S8 on the 25gb plan for $78.75/month (24 months). Was $105/month before the 25% discount

  • Many different deals being offered on the chat. I was offered 20 GB for $80 per month. This is for the S8 only.

  • I am very disappointed with Optus' service.

Went through all the forms in the online chat through the link, promised for a confirmation through email within 24hrs. No updates at all and had to make a follow up myself to be told my application is not on the system.

was for the 160 plan with 25% off
