    • Me too. I took them back to the shop and she said, "Oh no, not another pair!".
      I don't buy them anymore.

      • Thanks I need pluggers, but I refuse to pay $16 for something that used to cost almost nothing.

Tried getting some from the last deal (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/277193) and couldn't find any nearby stores with stock. So I'll believe it when I see it! :)

    • +3

Perth CBD (Murray St) had no idea what I was talking about when I asked last time, but I was able to get a couple of pairs from another store (can't remember which one though).

    Ha?
    XD

Do you wear thongs Tightarse, or are you too tight for that?

  • -4

From $4 at Target, brand name ones are $10.

  • -2

I don't wear tongs in public.

    • Many tongs in Eastwoo!

  • +15

kmart thongs "saxon" brand last for ages. $2 a pair. I wouldn't waste my money on anything else. even those free ripcurl thongs didn't go the distance.

  • +2

Last time it sold out so quickly in Sydney. Actually there's an outlet in Market City (if you're in Sydney) and there're more styles available for also $10

  • +1

They're already in store! (Thrift Park, Mentone, Vic.) No wonder they ran out before the official release date last time.

Best thongs ever, as a kid I remember my under 6s soccer coach trying to kick around a ball with these on

  • +5

I've noticed a lower quality in these Havaianas that are sold via Woolworths/Coles/Bigw compared to the surf shops etc…

    • +2

yah bit like a lot of brands these days - ala Ralph Lauren polos, Van Heusen business shirts etc. They have a discount / discount store line that's inferior quality or material.

    • +1

Exactly what i came here to write. .. there are definitely different qualities of Havaianas and at this price. .. it's the lower quality 🙁

  • +2

Can someone educate me on what's really the difference between Havainas and the $3 Kmart brand? I've had both and really can never tell the difference, so I keep buying the cheap ones now.

    • +19

      about $7.

    • +1

I've found Havaianas to be quite good quality

    • +11

It's the Vibe and, no that's it, it's the vibe. I rest my case.

    • +8

The Havainas have a symbol on them that creates emotions in some people which has a short term benefit to them. Emotions bypass logic, it doesn't make practical sense but there you go, that's how the world works.

      • Yes like an iPhone or to a lesser extent Pixel or an even lesser extent Samsung S7/8 edge!

        • Heh, I was just going to say like iDevices after reading the above comment but you beat me to it!

    • +1

      socio-economic status?

    • +1

I find these much better quality than the cheapies you get, for example walking over pebbles, you will definitely feel them in your $3 kmart flip flops, but with Havas, there rubber is a lot denser, and you wont feel the pebbles.

      • -1
        • Their rubber.

I never understood this. The fact is that no pair of boat shoes, loafers or other summer casual shoes is as breathable as thongs, unless you consider sandals to be a separate category.

      • We have three arches that support each foot. As the day wears on, it is important to have proper support underneath our feet. Without proper support, those valuable arches collapse and you begin to physically stress the body from the ground-up.

        • Fair enough, though I note the vast majority of flat-soled summer casual shoes would suffer the same deficiency. What breathable, attractive options would you recommend in lieu? The 'athleisure' craze seems to suggest minimalist trainers or other unembellished sports shoes.

        • Those island tribes' arches must be collapsed af

        • If you wear shoes that support the arch then your foot will weaken because it doesn't need to support itself, then you'll be reliant on the shoes

    • Where else are you supposed to wear them?!

      • -4

At home, away from public view

Decent price, but Still got like 5 pairs from last deal (that I posted lol)

All these cheap thongs last wbout 6 months on my feat. Bought a pair of Rocko double pluggers 5 years ago and cant seem to kill them. I know a few tradies who wear them to work everyday. http://rockosaustralia.com.au/products/96081--rockos-double-…

  • This Tongan dude runs marathons in $2 thongs. Who needs Havaianas?

  • +1

    Online too? Maybe not

  • +1

its abt time the thong was revamped, an engineer surely knows how to design one where it doesnt rip apart so easily.

  • Went to the woolies next to Wynyard station, Seems they don't sell it.

  • Woolworths townhall had brown and black womens version only, and not many sizes…

    • -1

      That seems a bit racist.
Why don't they have any for white women?

  • +2

Oh crap. I bought womens ones. I thought thongs were unisex.

  • Does anyone know of any South Australian Woolies that sells them?

  • Any in Perth?

    • there were plenty at Vic Park on Wednesday

  • it appears that the brazilians have smartened up and doing things by half,no rubber upper and only partly rubber on the bottom outsole

  • Not at WW Abbotsford Vic. "We don't sell thongs".

  • For those in SA, Woolies in Cumberland Park has heaps.

  • None at mt local Woolies.

  • Any left in Brisbane?
