VPN Unlimited $51.50 ($39USD) Lifetime Subscription

70

After doing research today on different VPN options I found a good review at: http://au.pcmag.com/software/138/guide/the-best-vpn-services…
Have a read and make up your mind.

Looks like this VPN Unlimited deal is a really good option for those who like the idea of pay once and forget. The discount offered at XDA Depot is much lower than the normal pricing at at the Unlimited VPN home page.

Safe surfing friends!

  • I bought this for about $45 a few months back on stack social.

The service is OK, but it slows your connection down significantly….i guess they all do ?

    • +1

It will be slightly more slow, but anything more than ~5% is simply the VPN being shit (or your ISP/RSP). An Australian VPN connection (well from a decent provider) just for privacy should be as good as unnoticeable for most people.

      • I generally get 90 down, with this I might get 6 down….If I'm lucky.

        • This is my result with VPN Unlimited Chrome extension
          http://www.speedtest.net/result/6226699544

        • @Presjar:

And what is your speedtest result without VPN?

        • @UNM:

Looks like Standard NBN 100/40 package.

        • @Presjar:

Is there any issues using an Australian VPN location? My friend uses torrents…. he's a good friend, like a brother really.

        • @thisispants:

Aus location doesn't 'support' torrents. You could try…

Using the Lux PTP supported server in Europe, I was getting almost 4MB/s on a 'linux' torrent last night.

Nope this is like.tryimg to swim in jeans? Woolen jumper & backpack on.

It works, but its bloody slow. Although it tends to fly under the radar on some sites (like bbc) & work.

But IMHO go for Ivacy (same price on stack social) its quicker & you can split tunnel (so i use it for bbc? As I can send the app.thru the vpn, but everything else via normal internet, so you can stream bbc & cast to tv. That should work for US stations too.

brought that a week ago for torrenting, but overall exprience wasn't good. IMO.

    • How much slower is it?
Do you connect to their AU server or any other?

      • As I said, my inetension was to use it for torrent as my ISP is throttling bittorrent traffic on the network. hence IMO it wasn't the best pick for downloading torrent.

broswering is not affected though, still snappy as always even during peak hours.

they do have a AU server in sydney. but torrent server is not in AU which is a shame.

I hope this helps you to decide if you looking for buy a VPN. cheers mate.

        • Thank you for your reply.
Sorry, I wasn't clear. My question was how much slower is downloading when torrenting usung vpn vs no vpn.
If I am getting up to 1.7-1.8 Mb/sec download speeds without vpn now, what can I expect with this vpn?

        • @bob19: well, i guess that depends on which network you are on! exprience may differ, btw, I'm on optus wireless boardband. U?

i lost about 40% of my bandwidth when connected to torrent. when not throttled.

        • @tgame: I am on adsl 2+ with TPG. And they don't throttle.

  • Your connection is not secure
The owner of depot.xda-developers.com has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website.

    MMMMM…..

  • Does it slow your internet surfing speed?

    Thanks

      Only if you hang ten

That will be the case for all VPNs. Do they have Australian servers?

      • i use IPvanish at home, and i get the same speed with VPN and without.
        aussie servers

      • They have a Sydney server, but not for torrenting.

        • yep, that is about it.

        • What VPN do you guys recommend for P2P that is reasonably priced? Just finished with Nord which was a fairy reasonable experience. Anything better?

        • @apu:
Stick with nord if it's good.

        • @apu:
Was just looking at getting a VPN and it so happened that a Nord ad was showing on this page. 2yr deal for $72 with code '2YSpecial2017', don't know if this is AUD or USD… haven't gone that far yet.

        • @apu:

          Any other deals on Nord?

        • What about PIA? They don't mention non-P2P servers…
Does it means all their servers allow P2P?

        • @SickDmith:

I haven't found any servers that you can't P2P on. I also do not find their servers much slower than without the service running

    "pay once and forget"

Somewhat more like "pay once and wait for the service provider to disappear". Lifetime isn't a sustainable business model.

    • One of the largest vpn providers. It will be around a while.
Also, their lifetime membership is usually several hundred dollars.

      • $149 usually I've kept my eye open for VPNs the last couple of days and almost pulled the trigger on it.

  • +1

As someone who has a VPN Unlimited account, I recommend you look elsewhere. Performance has been poorer than PureVPN or PIA.

  • I just bought a lifetime subscription to Ivacy VPN through Stack Social for US$30.00

  • +1
  • They also sell 3 year subscription for US$19

  • Has anyone tried TigerVPN? It is cheaper $29 Lifetime, however only have 15 nodes. Which one is better for P2P?

  • +1

Use stacksocial and this coupon to get deal for USD 33.15: VPNUNLIMITED15

    • Thanks.. The code works. Purchased one. For general browsing, this feels fast as they have Australian Node.

  • Whom knows what will happen in more then 3 years and if this company will be still around or what kind of service they will be providing.
So bought 3 year subscription for US$19 (works out about A$8.45 per year). Cheap enough.

  • Hi, does anyone know if this works with Netflix ? I currently have hotspot shield and it works with netflix (USA) but subscription ending soon.
