Hi guys, I snapped up this special today at my local Woolies (Morley, WA). GE energysaver tiny spiral globes 2pk for $5.98, which equates to $2.99 per globe. This is cheaper than the Woolies brand. This special is also available through online shopping. Good time to stock up!

  • What watt globes ?

    • Smallest is 8W, largest is 20W I think.

  • i think Bunning got better deal, usually buy 2x18watts Phlilips energy saving bulb for around $5-6, lightbulb at supermarkets are rip off IMO

  • $3ea for the 20W (100w replacement) 1100 lumen (daylight extra bright) globes, in either bayonet or screwmount, is good for me.
Less effort than a separate trip to Bunnings! :)
At my local woolies in northern Sydney, all the GE range was this price, in all mounts and 'colour'. 10-20W from memory.

I havent tried the GE globes so i cant comment as to how good they are.

Just thought i would let people know the aldi globes are really good. $5 for a twin pack. They start fast, warm up pretty quick and the warm white is actually a nice warm! They seem to last quite a long time as well. Dont think i have replaced any yet.

I got a 10pack of globes from bunnings a while back and they were useless. Nelson brand i think. They all broke really quick.

I have philips in another room ATM and they take forever to warm up. I cant swap them for the aldi globes as aldi only have BC fitting last time i checked.

  • Don't know about GE.
Also confirming what Duff5000 said about Nelson brand from Bunnings - they burn out very quickly.
    Philips are good.
I noticed that bayonet fittings are getting harder to find!
Also cool white ones are becoming a rarity.

  • Awesome work! Keep it up
