  • wish it came with a steel strap.

    User name checks out.

EDIT: My awesome Seiko Kinetic has finally died, needs a new capacitor.

Can't complain, it went for over 23 years without missing a beat.

    • +1

I've read that if Seiko Kenitics aren't worn often then the capacitor will cause problems, but 23 years is pretty awesome.

      • What about the Eco Drives?
Some of mine are resting in a dark crypt.

When i checked this out a year ago the balance of advice seemed to be don't worry be happy.

        • Not sure exactly, but I'd imagine like with most things it's always better to use it.

Eco-Drives are easier to keep going anyway, because all you have to do is put them near some light occasionally. I never put mine in direct sunlight.
          Maybe the Rep can answer?

        • 4 seconds of direct sunlight and they start working, usually skipping every 2nd second, which is the low-battery indicator. After about 15 minutes of light, they work normally.

  • Some nice Casio and G Shock there too

On my 2 x Citizens watches i find the date number very small, cannot see it, and so does Rolex, hence they have the magnifier glass over just the date, Citizen need this!

Still waiting for my warranty Citizen watch band from these guys….

  • +3

I had my Eco-Drive 10 years ago and it is still running accurately

    • +3

14 years on and mine is still running.

      • 17 years for mine :)

  • +1

I spent almost $500 on a bunch of watches from these guys last year.
Why am i looking at this?

Hey @WatchNerd any comments about the winder - looks a little vulnerable to bumps etc.
Most of the watches i have a little protection around it, like this one.

Love the Citizen Eco Drives. The Casio's not so much…

    • I've never had a problem, but I'm not hard on my watches & don't wear my good ones to work.
I usually just wear my Skmei 1134 when I'm working - $7.88 Shipped

      • OK, thanks.
I'm hard on everything - especially the watches.
I just seem to hit everything with them - mostly fixed objects.

And no, i don't believe you re the Skmei 1134.
Mind you i spent $169 on a Titanium CA4010-58A but have never worn it. Too good to be worn…

        • Haha, why would I make that up? I'm a tradesman so it makes sense.
          It's my favourite cheapo.

        • +1

OK, not a joke after all.
Yep, if i was a Tradie i probably wouldn't be rocking around with these things either.

  • +1

Just make sure you check the watch 100%!! I bough one, but got a scratch one so not really brand new!. BE AWARE.

  • i know the ar2100-09e is the real bargain here because cheapest i can find online is $239 ebay but i really like the:
    Edifice Chronograph EFR-539L-7C $147 ebay
    and
    Edifice Chronograph EFR-547D-1A $149 ebay

    decisions decisions..

    Just ordered one. Thanks OP

  • i got the ar210, the bigger bargain

  • +1

Grabbed one cheers OP… Got way too many watches now but I figured what the heck lol

  • +1

Also grabbed one for that price. Cheers
Know where I can grab a leather band for this?

  • Thanks for the link, purchased!

    • +1

Got my order today, came express post in a small parcel, the watch box was wrapped with the good chunky bubblewrap. Its the real deal, large green Ecodrive display tube case, manuals, the featured watch is just gorgeous, photo doesn't do it justice! Band is a bit meh but not complaining for the price. I don't think my wife believed me when I told her it was only $99.

  • WatchNerd, were is the best place to buy Seiko 5 Automatic's in AU?

  • Where can I get a G-Shock GA-201BA in Australia? and for a bargain!!!

    • +1

I doubt you will find that for a bargain anywhere.

      • is that in much demand?

  • +2

Got a different eco-drive watch (there are plenty of other great ones on discount, for not much more, buy whichever that suits you the best), the Citizen Avion during the last deal for 199$ http://www.starbuy.com.au/citizen-mens-eco-drive-watch-chron…

It is stunning, really love the purchase, great quality strap with a nice thickness, they havent cheaped out, and solid build/finish.

Can also recommend Starbuy, very professional, I picked it up in person and they were nice people, showed me the piece etc before i took delivery etc

  • I have got this one, which looks like the Seiko's version of a similar watch without the Chronograph. Also solar. Might buy a Citizen too. Eco-Drive vs Seiko Solar, would be cool to have one of each.

  • +1

Just in case it interests anyone, this Eco-Drive is now back in stock …

    • +2

Ha! I've just realised OP already covered that.

  • +1

Nice Share, thinking of getting one.

  • +2

I so want this watch. The price is nuts…

  • +3

Bang, pulled the trigger. I'm developing an online shopping addiction. Yesterday I pulled the trigger on the gearbest USB LED's.

    • +2

Don't make a bracelet with them. The watch is far better.

  • when searching price online always look forthe cheapest available, in that case its 239 on ebay, still a bargain for 99

  • +1

That's a great deal on a decent looking watch, often I find the big specials are on the stock that isn't so nice. I am hard on watches so am holding out for a good looking titanium ecodrive in the same sort of price range, might be waiting forever however.

    • +1

      I am hard on watches

Titanium watches are undeniably strong but I have read anecdotes saying they scratch easily. Try getting sapphire crystal, though.

  • Bought from these mob many times and post is super quick. Never had issues with all transaction.

  • ordered one. but didn't received any confirmation email though?

  • +1

Got mine today, I think the quality of the watch is just on par with the $99 price point. The stop watch hand does not align well on 12. The crown is not a screw-down design, for the RRP is shocking. But overall is not a bad looking watch. Oh and the lum is so weak too I can hardly see it in the dark.
