I wish I was the one who works at AusPost that can make the calls for discounting items, I would pick a wanted item that has severely limited stock, and price it ridiculously so that a lot of people will line up outside the stores, oh wait…

  • -3

Lol to everyone that tried. Nobody got anything and got butt hurt.

    • I work in Martin Place less than 100 metres from the flagship Sydney post office.

No biggie for me at 8.15am in the morning.

I am sure a lot of people went on the way to work.

no stock ever likely or <10 Australia wide
these non deals are a waste of space

I upped your comment. Rage against the ozb happy clappers.

        • -2

          @goober: agreed thanks mate

    • Well in terms of buyable product I would agree it's not worth posting, but in terms of entertainment value it might be worth it.

  • +2

Indooroopilly shopping centre, QLD only has the $119 ones

Partner did a stock check in WA - 1 in Osborne Park, 1 in Mirrabooka, 2 at Narrogin.

    • Thanks for the heads up buddy!

    • What? Only 2 in while WA metro?

Sitting in Japan watching this unfold. Feeling sad I missed out on the Unicorn Hunt😢

Consoling myself with Yamazaki single malt from the Supermarket - now that is a great deal.

    Thanks for a fun read😯

Mmm, have a Melonpan for me, yummo!

      • Slowly eating my way through Japan, so will do that. At a Matsuri (festival) next 3 days of Golden Week - always good for food & of course drink with the locals ;-)

  • Checked at Camberwell post shop at 9, no stock. They said they had them on clearance long time ago

System shows one in Midland and that's it for WA.

  • +1

    Lakeside Joondalup, WA. None :(

  • Lol. this is interesting.

  • +3

this unicorn hunt was fun while it lasted, time to move on ("money laundering" <- lolwat) community :)

at least ozb made me go for a walk @ 8am lol OZB is good for the wallet as well as for our bodies! my body is now even more ready for the next deal.

  • I got myself so excited that I told myself I need one. However there is no stock and I now feel compelled to buy another external HDD and sort out my storage :(

    • +2

    • Haha, made me lol. Probably true too.

    • -1

Cummon cuz hook a bro up. Wallah!

    • +1

      No you didn't.

  • +2

Belmont WA store just claimed there is one in stock in Midland WA. According to them the only one left in the state. Probably already sold. Yes, I had to chase the unicorn.

    • +2

      Midland has none left

      • I wonder if that was the last one in WA? Did you ask the store staff to see if there was any stock?

        • +1

i asked staff in store with a quickl response saying none left

        • @Smiley88:
          Bummer :(

  • +2

    Post office is busy today!

  • Hope some people found unicorns.. lol..

  • none in Qld, there were 2 in Browns plains store but other CSR told they were out

    • +1

Called before they opened for stock check. The two at browns plains were the $119 ones. Not the same model on clearance.

  • Just called AusPost for at least my area (revesby), and apparently they cant honour that deal as its incorrect.

    • +1

So neg the deal cause it can't be replicated. That's ozbargained rules.

  • -1

This deal should have never been allowed, clearly unobtainable, if not a pricing error. Move to forums thanks.

    • yep just click bait - guess it gets the advertising dollars for the web page

    • +2

Seriously, this was a fun Unicorn hunt. Let it ride.

    • -1

Exactly but why are numpties up voting? Now all the haters will neg this comment cause it's the truth.

  • Nice one Matt

    • +3

Yeah of course, especially with the special link used which alerts Aus Post to send me $2 for each click through OzB. No worries, won't bother with posting this stuff from Aus Post in future tbh.

      • +1

Well, I had fun! I didn't end up with a drive but then I didn't really need one. ;)

I still looked. Why not? :)

I don't know why so much negativity. #firstworldproblems

Out of interest my local post office did not tell me it was a scam. From their point of view it was a legitimate deal with actual stock in WA. Of course the stock was limited. At that price it was always going to be.

        • +1

Well said. Popping into the Post Office wasn't too painful. The McMahon Street, Hurstville NSW branch had sold all theirs before I arrived.

      • +4

Some people in here are just mean. When they could not obtain one deal, immediately turn their back to you, neg your post or report ( I am not talking about those fake deals).

Keep up your good work, mate. I had a great exercise this morning running from store to store :D, but it was fun :). So thanks heaps.

      • +3

I sincerely hope you do post such bargains again. It is hardly your fault there wasn't much stock around. That is quite normal when prices are reduced by over 90%. Nobody is more national than Australia Post.

      • -1

        Passive aggressive much?

    • +6

@cdaddy - that's a bit harsh mate. I mean it was proven that they were at that price (despite the really really limited qty).

OP - even though I couldnt get one I would still like to thank you for sharing. You didnt need to share it at all, and no one would even know about it, and you wont have to deal with all the negs to begin with. Definitely please keep posting auspost deals!! (no matter how much of an unicorn it might be ;) )

  • I was at my local post office and there was none in stock.
But thank you for sharing the info :)

  • The only time people go to AustPost now is to look for unicorn hard disks or pick up the ones they got from Amazon that weren't delivered to their house! ;-) lol

    • GPO Perth has half price easter chocolate :)

      • damnit, I didn't even notice that lol

        • mmmm Chocolate, half price!

  • Anyone out here manage to check Riddells Creek, VIC & Gisborne, VIC?

  • Went to a few Australia post stores in my area yesterday morning and didn't find any.

All they had were the smaller $119 Seagate 2tb portable drives.

  • They had several in stock at my local AP shop in a Melb western suburb at 10am yesterday (Wed) morning, but staff new nothing about any clearance sale. They made a phone call to someone somewhere to check. Result: They said I could have them all but they were going to cost $119 each because that's what the barcode was reading.

  • None in the Condor enclosure at Taronga Zoo.

    • Zoo keepers got them before they opened

  • OOS in NSW confirmed just now!
