May want to save that $50. The DLC has just been announced and its US$45, so will probably be about $60 here.

      • The season pass of DLC is $67.50

    • Actually it sold out in a couple of days when it first went up and only just came back now. Also you get an artbook and a selection soundtrack in a collectors edition box. Lastly it's only $40 more as the game on its own is $60.

I'm not convinced this will sell for double. The thing that made the Fates Special edition so good is was that essential had $50 worth of DLC on the cart plus the usual tat found in limited edition releases. This is just the tat in the form of an artbook and soundtrack for an extra $40.

    • I don't think the contents matter too much. It will be rare if the print number is low which does seem to be the case as it's online only, EB exclusive and sold out within 48 hours initially. If you're on the fence I'd buy it now. Also AU editions are more sought after than EU editions even though that version comes with two amiibos on top of what we get.

    • FE:Fates doesn't sell for double (yet), maybe a handful, most end $150-170. By the time Fates and this game are worth $200+ steady (maybe never?), the value of your $100 you "made" isn't going to be the same as it is today.

Buying games on the hopes of them being valuable isn't a great idea, especially in the current market of forced "rarity", a lot of retro games that are valuable were just ordinary games, for various reasons now attract high prices. This sort of stuff today is just really who paid attention enough to put an order in or for hotter items, who had the quickest Internet. They just don't have the same appeal and I agree the prices down the line aren't going to be anything special.

(Not saying there's no value in them, I have plenty of CEs but just for my own enjoyment)

  • I'm a big fan of the fire emblem series, but didn't hear about this =O

I'm surprised that there's a new FE already, considering the last one was released only a year ago. I haven't even finished the damn thing yet! Lunatic mode takes too damn long to figure out the solution.

I'm thinking of giving this a CE a pass though, there doesn't seem to be any decent goodies included compared to FE:Fates.

No clue on what the game is like, i'll have to look into that too

It's a remake of an old game (that was not released in the West), hence the quicker turn around on release dates :)

Oh I see, definitely not worth forking out extra for the CE in my opinion then.

I'll probably hold off the purchase for now, but it's great to hear old FE games getting a local release

          It's a full remake.

        • I agree with you on the CE but yeah, as Yuri mentioned, it's a very substantial remake, I didn't mean to downplay it, so def look in to it :)

  • If this came with both Amiibo, this would have been a great buy!

  • I'd personally rather spend that extra 40 on the amiibos than those extras. Nothing quite like putting game content behind a toy paywall.
