Found this while angrily browsing after Officeworks cancelled my Seagate BUPS 2TB - thanks a lot Mary.
Not quite $83.60 but also not bad for what should be an at least slightly better drive.

2TB also available in gold

1TB gold available for $76

That's an expensive golf ball !!!

  • Got one of these (2TB) 3 months ago (not from Futu), it failed a couple of weeks back. Now makes an unpleasant clicking sound when plugged in :(

    • that sucks :( you should be able to exchange it under seagate's warranty

      • Yeah I will, just weighing my options regarding data recovery since it was full of important photos

  • What's so good about this compared to the popular and apparently "Best Seller" Seagate Expansion 2TB Portable Hard Drive?

    • the expansion is kind of the stock standard (no bells and whistles) while the backup plus is the premium model that comes with additional backup software. the subject of this post is the most recent release of the backup plus and is essentially a sleeker and faster version. backup plus slim is also very popular and seems to have a lower rate of failure compared to the ultra slim, although seagate has denied the difference.

  • but also not bad for what should be an at least slightly better drive.

    Explain?

    • comparing to the Backup Plus Slim seen in this deal - I say "slightly better" because while the Ultra Slim is thinner and supposedly faster, there have been some complaints about its failure rate
