    With a bit of electronics and programming know-how, you could put these three things together and make a Bluetooth thermometer that plays the national anthem with the room gets to a certain temperature.

      Without a breakout board, FTDI, and voltage regulator this would be out of reach for most.

      It's no use advising people not to try - it's the way we find out what we can do. Children can build with these simpler circuits & move to more complex ones. With modules, it's so much simpler than sourcing individual parts & building circuits as I first did.

    Just starting with something simple, will build your confidence.

    For example, with the Bluetooth speaker module - all that is needed is to connect the included cables to 3.7-5Volts (eg rechargable lithium battery from old phone or USB power source - cutting back old USB cable to expose 5Volt & 0Volt cables) & 2 speakers (many people have these lying around). 6 wires to connect (correctly - make sure 2 power wires are correctly wired - positive to positive, as may wreck module), recheck & plug into connectors on board. No soldering necessary. A cheap multimeter (see deals - often around $5) is handy for checking polarity of low voltages & everything wired correctly.

    No real tech guy experience needed - check out YouTube etc for advice or ask someone with some experience. Worst you can do is blow the circuit & few dollars. If it works - you've got a cheap Bluetooth stereo amplifier. People have been happy showing how to use these modules on YouTube. Then move onto something more ambitious.

    It's the way we learn.

    Modules may be cheaper at other sites.

  I used something similar for a DIY Sous vide machine using my slow cooker .
