WIIPAD NENO 10.2" Android Tablet! $241.33 inc. shipping

70

Just found this little gem, after reading a previously posted deal today and thought hot damn, 10" 1Ghz processor 2.1 android under $250 delivered.

I take no responsibility for quality with this, just thought some might be interested in this deal, as it seems solid to me.

I'm interested in what other people have found, as these things are seemingly so hot right now!

  • Isn't this a normal price, where is the bargain?

    • It's not a bad deal imo. Not an over the top bargain by any means, but its good value for what you're getting here, no doubt

Try and find something better and I'll stop posting things, like you.

isnt 2.1 a bit old now ? or is it okay? , nice find koonit

    • -1

Not many devices are running 2.2 yet. So it's still fairly recent and a lot of apps such as flash have been ported back to 2.1 for different reasons.

    • -1

Sony Ericsson still ship their phones with 1.6, so 2.1 ain't too bad

    • 2.1 is old, and lacks a lot of features of 2.2. Just because lots of crap companies (Sony-ericcson, Dell) are still releasing the OS does not make this OK. If you get this device, there is no chance they are going to provide an OS upgrade to 2.2, they already have your money, why should they.

    way better than the ipad!

    • +1

Ever used an ipad? There's a reason it's almost a 3rd of the price.

      • +2

Ever used one of these? Be honest now! ;)

I will be, I haven't used either; but if anybody's gonna say one is better than the other, they'd better have used BOTH! :p

    • does it have 3G connection as well?

EDIT: ooh, interesting, the site says it does

    • +3

Gotbean care to elaborate on this unit. Looks like you MUST have one to say that? Are they any good and how is the company support for this particular unit. Hows the build quality, speed, user interaction?

Or are you going only on the quoted specs?

  • It'd be nice to see something priced around this range with 3G inbuilt

    • Mate, with the amount of e-tailers coming out for china and start up tablet companies appearing around the world, there's going to be around a a thousand with 3G by the end of the year.

  • not a fan, same specs as the zenithink and they are pretty slow still. Heropad is the best ive found so far…ps u can get better deals for as low as $200 AUD :)

    • Links please.

As I said in the OP, I'm interested in what other people have found.

http://zenithink.us/ Want over $400AUS for there unit.

No offense intended, but these things are a dime-a-dozen. I've seen a couple of IT suppliers trying to flog them off, all with the same specs, all with different price ranges.

They are all from the same source - http://www.zenithink.com/en/index.asp - they make the CPU and the device. Everyone else just renames it and tries to flog 'em off.

If you hunt around for the ZT-180, you'll find a couple places selling them, should be able to find cheaper, possibly even local. I can't for the life of me remember what the local PC place had them badged as, sorry. :(

    • "Should" and "Can" are two different things my friend.

Where can we get one of these for cheaper? If it's under this price, I'm sure it'd get loads of positive votes.

      • I'll try and find out what the name/price was of the unit that was demo'd.

        But as for cheaper prices, assuming we're linking completely 'legit' websites;

        http://www.dhgate.com/zt-180-1ghz-cpu-10-2-inch-apad-table-p…
        http://www.merimobiles.com/Zenithink_ZT_180_10_tablet_Androi…

Honestly, from reading reviews and the brief encounter I had with the demo unit, I'd pass this up unless it was an absolute bargain and you're happy with compromises.

        • I'd personally never buy from DHGate but both sources seem to have the unit for roughly the same price I've listed unfortunately. The merimobiles link also says it's 800MHz.

I remember thinking if Android tablets go below $100 I'd snap one up, they have, and I haven't.

Is there anything better than this out there for the money iyo?

  • C'mon guys this sort of stuff belongs in the forums.

    • funny i thought this was the forums at first , then realised after your comment it was in the bargains list lol

    • Gets more attention here! :P

I still think it's a bargain, more a bargain then the previously posted table. Unless someone can show me where they can get a 10" tablet for less then $200, it should be considered a bargain.

      • Now if they changed the NENO to NEMO it would sell out overnight lol

        • +4

Yeah, but then how are you gonna find it? ;)

      • So koonit are you buying one????

        • Good question!

Resistive touch which I can't stand, so no. I am seriously tempted though, going to recommend to a mate who wants an android device though. I've already got a Nexus One which I'm still really happy with.

  • Just wait for the Samsung Galaxy Tab; that will be the tablet to get. ANNOUNCEMENT TOMORROW 2nd SEPTEMBER.

    • +2

Nah, wait for tablets running Gingerbread early next year. They will have high res screens which v2.x can't/won't support. I reckon these are too low a res for the screen size. I also wish they'd drop the lame iPad styling. Mind you, for 200 odd bux….. hmmmmm.

      • +2

screw gingerbread i am waiting for cheesecake! lol

  • I'm not getting off the fence on this one anytime soon; I've used neither this class of device or an iPad, so I won't pretend to have the requisite experience for a valid opinion either way!

That said, these things are all over eBay; though this price is about $20 cheaper than any there! Noteworthy however, is the fact that you can get very similar versions with 6-7" screens listed as "ebook readers" for ~$115 delivered, give or take! ;)

I must admit though, at a couple of hundred bucks for one of these, I'd be mighty tempted!!! :D

  • Thanks for the deal. Definitely a great hardware specs. The 1GMHz CPU, 256mb RAM and 2G Nand flash is top of the range already.

However, the deal breaker definitely being NOT capacitive touch screen!!!

What about Gsensor? It doesn't say in the specs table.

Also anyone know what this means?
    USB 3G external

USB 3G external (optional only for OEM service)

    Build-in? or Adaptor???

  • means it's compatible with external 3G usb modems, although you have to check first, sometimes they will only work with certain chipsets
i got an el cheapo Flytouch with the Via cpu/256mb DDR2/2GB flash/wifi/7" touch(resistive) for just over $100 delivered, won't win any speed records and is limited to Android 1.6 but it's great for e-books and casual net use

  • I would highly recommend people to stay away from the ZT-180 (CPU) as there have been some concerns over the compatibility and upgrade-ability. Apparently the ZT-180 is not ARMV7/Cortex A8 compatible but based on the older ARMV6/ ARM11 chip that is not supported with Flash 10 nor Android Froyo 2.2.

    http://www.slatedroid.com/zt-180/3787-zenithink-zenithink-18…

If you are intending to run just 2.1, then this device is good for purpose. If you have intentions of having this upgraded to anything more, then be aware that it will not work.

  • Is it free shipping? I just google it and found this device is actually a rebranded Zenithink ZT 180. Ebay sells this for at least $209US plus postage and it's quite popular.

Its amazing how the iPad has pushed this market, but I would really want to touch and see any tablet device before I payed the money as this is so important for this type of device where they vary so much.
