        Flight was HK-BNE. We traveled as family of 4, 2A+1C+1infant ( no seat ). We had requested bassinet row, which we had got but I was in row behind, diagonally. Straight behind would have worked better so I could help wife out. Long story short - they could not sort it out so that we could sit together or seat me behind. Tried via phone night before, at check in at air port & also at boarding gate - made it seem a big drama. Told us other passenger had also requested bassinet - which as it turned out, they did not. Once onboard I just asked if they would mind swapping seat and was not a problem. She was a mature age lady with no kid…. go figure… 8 or 9 hour flight & seemed staff were hard to find. Main food drink service was fine, but they just seemed to disappear after that.

    Hi OP,

    I can't quite get this to work. Trying to get the Melbourne price, leaving Aug 25th (on a CX134 flight) and returning Oct 6th (on a CX105), and it is over $1000.

    Am I missing something?

    Edit - looks like it is just the days that I need to fly on. Other dates around that have the $667.

    no deal…like others have pointed out above, I might as well just fly with qantas for $650 syd-hk….

      Agreed. Been waiting for Cathay to post their specials for my SYD-HK trip in August, guess I'm going with Qantas then.

    Why Melbourne fare is more than $100 cheaper than other cities' fares?
    I don't think other airports' taxes are $100 more than Melbourne's.

      It's because from 5 July 2017, Virgin Australia will operate five return services per week between Mel and HK. Good to have more competitions to push the price down.
