  • what's the fly buy eneloop conversion rate these days?

    • +2

1 Flybuys points is equal to ~12V

  • +1

Make sure you keep track of the points being credited to your flybuys. I forgot about it and realized 3 months later, had to make some calls and emails to get the bonus points.

    • +1

      best credit card though! :D

  • is it easy to get approved for the cards? any suggestion while feeling up the forms!

    • I was approved immediately. No subsequent checks needed. Got my card in 5 days, so quite easy for me.

  • Eligible for cardholders within last 12 months ?

  • Is there any reason to ever take FB points over the $1/200 spending money?

    • +2

FB points are heaps more flexible. 20k FB = $100 in Coles anyway, but the difference is that if you take $100 off you shop then you have to spend more than that in a single shop otherwise the rest is forfeited. Even if you planned to use the 20k ($100 worth of points) in Coles it's better to take the points and then convert to Flybuys Dollars which is the same as a $100 gift card that can be used in Coles, Target, Kmart etc and if you don't spend $100 in a single shop the balance will carry on. Plus right now 20k FB points can be converted to 10k Velocity points (before 30/6) so some may find that more beneficial.

I think you can only spend flybuy dollars $10 at a time (2000 points) so while paying, its ganna prompt you if you want to use the points but only $10 worth.

        • You can only redeem the points in multiples of $10, but you can certainly use more than $10 worth of Flybuys at a time. You just need to tell the cashier how many you want to use.

        • You are confusing Flybuys Points with Flybuys dollars.

Flybuys Points can be auto-redeemed at a Coles checkout for $10 of your shop, if you hold a Coles MasterCard and have opted in for the program.

Flybuys Dollars is something you buy using Flybuys Points inside your Flybuys online account. Once you have bought Flybuys Dollars then they are credited to your Flybuys card which becomes like a normal gift card (think WISH physical gift card) which can then be spent at Coles, Target, Kmart etc

      • OK, by taking the spending money I meant converting to Flybuy dollars or whatever in order to spend. All the comparisons I have read have concluded that the spending money is the best value way to spend flybuys points (assuming you would spend that much with the Coles group anyway).

Aren't velocity points significantly less valuable?

        • +1

Aren't velocity points significantly less valuable?

Yes and no. Depends how you use Velocity points. If you're spending velocity points on WISH/Coles gift cards then it's rubbish value -> best to use 20k Flybuys Points to buy $100 Flybuys Dollars. But if you're spending them on international flight upgrades then they are worth heaps more than $100 and you can get better value this way.

  • Took about 5 phone calls to resolve I had entered the correct promo for fb points and they didn't apply to the account. Eventually 3 months later they have given me the $100 shop. Not sure if others have had better experiences.

    • Same case for me. I applied for a card for myself and later another one for my wife. In both cases I had to make multiple phone calls to follow up and get the bonus points.

  • Also applied for FB points offer but ended up being awarded $100 shop. Had to go all out to make $100 as we are a small family.

  • Now, No Annual Fee vs Rewards Mastercard who wins? Can any Coles expert (Colespert) help shed some light?

    • +2

It will depend how much $ you are putting through the card annually. You get 2 Flybuy points per $ for the Rewards card vs 1 point per $2 for the No Annual Fee card. So the Rewards card accrues points 4 times faster, but has annual fee of $89. You need to put minimum ~$9k through the card to break even on the annual fee in terms of redeemed Flybuy points (if I've done the math right!).

    • +2

      Comparison here.

For those who are already customers of the no annual fee, ring up and request to be upgraded to the rewards card with no annual fee for first year. I just did.

This trick can be applied on this deal too. Select fee free card, get the $100 or points. Then upgrade. This is how I started.

  • Wonder how they define "new customer".

  • Anyone applied for this one and still waiting for approval/rejection?
I applied last week and I have pretty decent income but never got it approved right away.

  • I was approved first & then i cancelled bcoz i entered wrong PROMO code. Now i'm not able to apply again getting unsuccesful result,,… Oops… What to do now?? Does anyone have any idea…!
