  • These would be no better than those low quality rebadged generic Televisions being made in China which would be essentially what it is. I wouldn't expect much from it. Just Target clearing out junk.

i bought said 55" Chinese Tv recently for $460. It's fine but rather pay a little more for this with 3 years warranty.

    • Low quality how? The picture can be quite good. Panels are panels. Worst picture is using the built-in tuner, but thats a minor issue compared to the low quality of free-to-air tv generally.

Build-quality and so failure rate is more of a concern. How reliable are they?
But in the 3 year warranty term, a brand-name TV will have dropped more in value than this costs.
I'd avoid any no-name without the 3 year in-home warranty.

I have the FHD version of this and am very happy with it for the peanuts it cost. I'm not easily pleased either and will spend more when necessary.

The 3 year warranty is far better than you get with name brands that don't have confidence their products will last more than a year.

not a smart tv is a plus in my opinion.. just buy a $60 S905x based media player and install KODI and it'll handle streaming, playing downloaded files, even playing NES / SNES / Atari / arcade games like Donkey Kong, Pac-Man, Galaga etc.

    • $60, you're paying too much 💰

      • Or too little. Get the Mi Box with real Android TV and bluetooth voice remote.

        • Yeah that too. Mine shipped, so should be here by Xmas

          @Steptoe: Christmas 2018.

      • yeah $40 delivered through large online seller, $60 is buying it face to face in Melbourne.

    • Where can i buy that KODi?

      • Don't pay for KODI - FREE on Google Play store.

Find an S905X based media player on eBay etc.

  • Looks like no stock in Brisbane.

    • Oops, there's two models on the site - Platinum LED LCD TV 138cm PT5518LED and PT5506UHD. There's some of the second available but the listed price is $599.

Will have to call in and have a look.

      • $599

        Check again after midnight.

        • I see. I missed it starts tomorrow. Thanks.

$109 for Regional NSW postage makes it more expensive than the Kogan Curved 55“ deal

    • That said, Click & Collect is Free to your nearest store.

  • Does this TV have Bluetooth connectivity?

  • Can't speak for this one exactly, but I have a 55" 1080 Platinum and it's been going great for nearly 2 years. Gets a tonne of gaming in by me and the missus, and when we're not playing something it's usually got either something on for the one year old or Netflix in the background.

No burns, no problems, decent quality sound (expect distortion if you want it on loud), quality visuals, crisp colors, all that shit.

She bought it right before the price drop on 4K started and I was like "don't do it, it's right around the corner, don't (profanity) do it!" but then she did anyway and every now and then I look at the TV and think of how the PS4 Pro is wasted on it.

Good TV though, and since most shit is still 1080 or under, we'll manage, somehow.

  • If anyone wants to grab this, get it off eBay store with C5OZ code (5% off) for $474.05 delivered here. Only 2 left however.

  • Guys, this TV is $399 and not 499. Plz ask store rep to scan. I just bought one yesterday from parrametta.

    • Is it model PT5518LED or PT5506UHD?

    • Does this TV have a bluetooth?

      • No blue tooth. But have 1usb2 and 4hdmi cockers.

  • It is UHD one..!
