  • Nice price indeed, wish I had a use for one! You watch though, as soon as this is sold out/expired, my bloody G15 will die! ;)

    • Wats wrong with the g15

      • Nothing, I love it, great kb! Mine's the original blue light one, thankfully not the orange (which is a colour I simply can't stand). I actually bought it not for gaming, but because it was the best backlit kb I could find for the money at that time! ;)

I was referring to my usual extraordinary run of luck when it comes to something completely unforeseen going wrong immediately after a related deal finishes! :p

    So this is US dollars?

Also, are we even eligible for the cashback with an Australian address?

    • Good point, takes the total (delivered) up to ~AUD$53, based on USD$47, which still isn't too shabby! ;)

Not sure how the POD works though??? ;)

      • yeah, anyone knows how the bloody POD works? So we pay the courier guy on the spot when he delivers the item??? :S

    • Thanks for the reminder, forgot to add in the fact that it was USD

Their $0 items, including bluray discs, laptops, desktop systems, xbox360 consoles and 32" LCDs, are definitely a bargain too!

(I assume these items are out of stock, even though they clearly state "In Stock")

  • If this is anything like the real Razer Lycosa it is rubbish. Paid $130 and it broke after 14 months. Just 2 months out of warranty.

    • Mine still works, though the black "paint" on my keyboard is starting to peel off on a few of my keys.

But at this price, it's certainly a good buy.

      • You must have gotten a good model. Mine was apparently plagued with problems. The A and S keys stopped working. So I bit the bullet and bought a Apple Keyboard. The best $70 I have spent on my computer.

Too much strafing dude; you should be a crappier player & your keyboards would last longer! :p

I've got friends who bought those new metal Apple keyboards, very nice engineering/design, and they tell me they're reliable as all getout; but I can't type on them for the life of me! I need a cheapo clicky-click mechanism! ;)

@StewBalls: It does take a while to get used to. But since I've been using one of those dodgy little netbooks that school students got, I find any desktop keyboard feels amazing!

  • I have one and its a nice keyboard and it has no "black" paint so Im not sure what your on about, seems like a nice quality K/b to me and Ive had for years now and still looks as good as new I mean how rough would you have to be for it not to last eh.

lol I've got two of these spare. I'll ship them to you for $47AUD xD

All the HP ones have issues with spastic touchpads or keys that suddenly stop working until you replug the keyboard. Doesn't happen on all PCs though. Seems to be an intermittent grounding issue. I'd steer clear unless you can get one super cheap like $25-30. I'm just using the ones I opened as spare kb's when testing PCs etc. It's a shame because they are really nice keyboards, but when a random key stops working, it pretty much fails its main functionality.

BTW: voted neg because its likely you'll end up with a defective product. These were made for HP by Razer around the same time they were experiencing issues with their own branded ones. Try and find any info about the VooDoo DNA keyboard on HP's site. It's almost non-existent. Can find the mouse fine though… KB is also listed in the printer section on the support website. Gave up on that when my only options were paper jams etc… Pretty obvious why HP stopped selling them.

Let me put it this way, I bought 14 of them new from auction. 8 of them have had the same or similar issues.

    • Yeah, I had a google for problems when I saw this deal! The exact problem you mention can be fixed with new Windows7 driver, released earlier this year it seems! ;)

Mind you, that took some extensive googling…about 15 seconds or so! :p

      • It's not a software issue. It's the hardware. Improper grounding interferes with the touchpad. The touchpad basically sends the prev track command as fast as it can. This is also somehow linked to the random key not working issue.

I've tried every driver available including the Win7 one. I actually upgraded my OS from Server 2008 to Win7 to see if that would fix the issue.

        • I couldn't find any resources to corroborate that, have you got a link?

            • @heatseeker424: Interesting, thanks…one would hope, given this comment:
"Only a few hundred were affected, and they have mainly all been taken care of already," said Frick. Apparently, the keyboards in question were manufactured sometime during 2007, and while Frick did mention that some may even be left on store shelves, Razer has a program up that immediately takes care of customers with affected serial numbers.
              …that these aren't of 2007 manufacture! ;)

        • Yep i bought a couple of these the last time they came on special and they are nice keyboards but 100% agree with you on their strange behaviour.

The Touchpad seems to stop working spontaneously and when it does you find that another key appears to be "stuck" down or otherwise not working. Unplug USB, plug back in and it goes away.

I have only tried them under Windows 7 and there is definitely some issues there although strangely enough they seem to have gotten less and less frequent over time, ie used to have to unplug keyboard every couple of days but haven't had to do it for ages now.

I suggest going with a Logitech Illuminated KB for $59 (MSY) if you're hesitant about getting this keyboard.
Similar characteristics (backlit, and slim profile) but just missing the textured keys and a few media keys.

    • or a Logitech G110. It's what I switched too. Prefer the low profile keys of the Razer/HP, but logitech has built in USB mic/audio with keys to mute either. Come's in pretty handy for online gaming. ~$79

  • I don't understand the cash on delivery. Are they really going to ship this all the way to me in Australia just for $2?

  • Looking at my post…. I have a Razer Lycosa not a HP one :\ definatly no probs with a razer K/B but I dont know anything about HP branded items.

    • It's a rebrand — The voodooDNA HP keyboard is in fact a Razer Lycosa, except with white LED lighting instead of blue and sporting the VoodooDNA brand instead of Lycosa.

It's made by Razer, I don't think HP would have produced this keyboard.

  • I have one of these… previously had problems but haven't had any recently that I can recall. Running Windows 7.

IMO though, I wouldn't buy it. Feels cheap. You get what you pay for.

  • Looks like they're out of stock

  • I ordered one when the deal was posted but I seriously doubt I'll be receiving it.

  • Yep, doubt mine will come through too
