Mobileciti has some decent prices on AU stock Samsung Galaxy S8 at the moment.

I didn't want to wait for shipping and Officeworks was just around the corner. Pulled the trigger as I'll be flying overseas soon and it came in under $1K.

So it's the luck of the draw to get a staff member who will price match Mobiliciti?

    • not really go there on Weekday 5-10pm and ask for Joe.

      • Sorry I misread. I thought the price was at OW. I'm in Vic and after the S7, rang today and they said whatever price is on the site is it. Was hoping they would offer something similar to April's price.

    • Why wouldn't they price match Mobileciti?

Hello gimli store rep I bought a galaxy s8 from you last week when it arrived I took out the battery to charge it in my eneloop charger but now the phone won't turn on, is the battery dead? Also the glass on back of phone is broken - weak!

      • Oops sorry.. Didn't realise that..

  • Cheaper on eBay with c5oz code as posted 7/5.

    • -2

It's cheaper with price match at OW.

$1,088.51 with ebay code > $1,082.05 with OW price match

        Price matches aren't deals.

Yet the prices for the S7 are magically more expensive on the ebay store, cheapest ebay s7 is around $10 more than the cheapest retail store s7.

Over a thousand dollars, for a phone. Think about that for a moment.

    • Over 1000 Eneloops, for a phone. Brain Says NO

    • +3

yeah that's a bit much IMO, but whatever people do what they like.

  • -4

Just get yourself a Xiaomi…1/4 of the price for similar specs. Spend the rest on Eneloops…

I choose to wait a month ago on $1050, I have to believe it will drop below $1000 soon.

Still over thousand and not the plus model. Normal model is too small. Crazy.

    • 5.8 " is too small?

      • Because of how narrow the screen is, it does feel quite small to some people (myself included). A 5.8" 18.5:9 screen has noticeably less overall screen area than a standard 16:9 one. The extra 0.4" on the + makes a huge difference.

You must like the big 6"+ midnight black ones

  • Hey Op, you realised custom can tax you on your way back if you claim TRS right?

    • But open and used would mean it depreciated a lot?

    • +3

Haha… Customs don't give 2 cents about what you bring back into the country! I have known plenty of people who have bought $8000 designer bags, claimed TRS when going overseas on holiday, and came back to Australia carry said bag in hand thru customs. Customs are more worried about drugs, bugs & dirt than luxury items. Anyone who is unlucky enough to get taxed back on their TRS claims, is just that, super unlucky!!

    • I am aware of the customs rules. Thankfully I am not bringing it back. Thanks for heads up.

  • what's this about a TRS refund??
    how do we get it?

    • It requires that you go overseas and claim GST back at the airport.

You are supposed to declared it when you bring it back (h/t @jackfruit) but can pool allowance with you family.
