Have just read all the comments and only 3 people have reported being able to actually buy the deal and none through the app. It seems you therefore need a co-operative, knowledgeable or uncaring Maccas employee to push the right buttons in order to get this deal.

More likely they will fix this pricing error so you can't get this meal so cheap.
This is an app glitch/pricing error and it is luck of the draw and should be moved to the forums.

This deal was not honoured in Warrawong, NSW. Went to to the store and it said 'out of stock'. I then went to the counter and the manager was serving next in line and would not honour the deal and continuously said that they don't do it as a meal.

Went through the drive through at Melrose Park SA. This deal and the price came up when I ordered it, but when I moved to the payment window, they refused to honour the original price that it came up with and wanted to charge me $9.75 instead.

I get your frustration but I have already been able to order this at different stores over the counter without a single questioning look
I have been to 2 stores in the ACT, and both happily charged the reduced rate without any issues.

ABSOLUTELY some managers/franchisee are stingy for the slightest amount of pennies. It's the easy-going ones with good service team that get's my business!

The manager at McDonalds Benalla wouldn't put it through, the junior entered it in the system, but the manager wouldn't let her complete the sale.
Went to the Yarraville Mac and they put it through manually over the counter for me. Props to the on shift supervisor!

Was coming up in my app for $2.45 small, $2.95 medium or $3.40 for Large. Only problem was it was saying only available between 00:00 - 04:00, which would at lunch time yesterday was no good as when I was in store it just come up saying sold out for that restaurant.
In the end I went with the $5 Big Mac Golden Meal (medium) so can't complain as that was cheaper than a Big Mac on its own.
It still comes up on my app, and saying available between 00:00 - 04:00 but I'm not going out to get one now to see if it works

I was asked to pay for a cup of water in Melbourne last week. A Sydney store did the same thing.
I usually get water for free because I don't drink soft drink.
Their Loose Change Menu is designed to draw people to their stores initially so they buy other things.
What really pushes my buttons is When swapping out a drink for $1 dollar Frozen drink, will cost more than buying the meal itself and an extra Frozen drink!!

Tried the app and in store. The app deletes it off the order when confirming, says not available.

Got this last night and night before at Chermside QLD. Went through the drive through, asked for a medium Chicken and Cheese burger meal, got put through no questions asked. $3.35 for the meal.
My local simply refused to even check, saying chicken n chese doesn't come in a meal

Anyhow I tried again just now but no luck this time. The attendant put through my meal for $3.35, but there was a mistake with the payment (I paid for someone else's order) so the girl went to get her supervisor . The supervisor noticed the $3.35 price on my order, said it was wrong and went to charge me the correct price of $8.xx. It looks like it may be the end of this deal at Chermside at least, sadly. Was good while it lasted, thanks OP.
Another Vic location $3.05 (quoted price) or maybe $3.20 (guessing from the total I paid) after changing fried to salad (bit of a disaster!) and getting orange juice from concentrate.
I much prefer a regular burger to these ones, but kids like them and it makes a change from regular burgers with the bonus that they sometimes come in cheaper.

Successfully ordered 2 medium meals for $2.95 each. In-store kiosk wouldn't do it so I went counter.
I asked a younger staff member if I could get the chicken and cheese burger in a meal, they said "yeah sure" or "yeah of course".
Chose medium size with Sprite and when it showed up for $2.95 I asked them to double the order :>
