  • Does anyone know if I buy an iTunes gift card, can I send it to someone in another country (different currency) and they can use it in their iTunes account? It sounds simple, but I know Apple says no on so many simple things most people would take for granted. So I thought I'd ask.

And whats the biggest iTunes card you can get?

    • No.

I think you can, but they have to use an Australia iTunes store account with that card.

    $50 is the largest card

    Seems like a good deal

Effectively $31 for an iTunes gift card then?

    • Yup, essentially a 38% discount on iTunes, although still a good deal :D

    • ? iTunes doesn't come in larger cards than $50?

can u use that 100 bucks visa card to buy a 200 dollar itunes card LOL

    • never thought of that…haha

    • How ??? can u use that 100 bucks visa card to buy a 200 dollar itunes card

  • +3

You can't use the visa straight away, there is a 24 activation period before you can start using it but I suppose there is nothing stopping you from going back to the post office after activation to buy more. Apparantly you can't use the visa card in supermarkets.

    • It does mention woolworths, but couldnt find any mention of other supermarkets. Wonder if its got something to do with the fact that woolworths has its own brand of visa/mastercard and the fact that you can no longer use the 'credit' facility on visa/mastercard debit cards!?!?!

  • Not bad compared to the US marketed one - at least there aren't transaction fees (unless purchase is made in foreign currency).

    • Yuck.
I imagine buy it, and pay off a bill in advance or something for it to constitute an online purchase.

  • I meant 24 hours activation period

    Just a note guys.

These card's can't be used in any of the Woolworth or Coles group stores because they have their own prepaid mastercard brand which they try and sell.

Great for online shopping and ebay though.

    • Especially when your under 18 :)

  • Can you use that visa card to buy another visa card, and get another itunes card 50% off?

    • even if you used it for the $100 visa card; you still need to pay an extra $5.95 activation fee.

  • Where do you see 5.95 activation fee? Is there a special because on their website it has:

"To get your reloadable Prepaid Visa card up and running simply go to a participating Australia Post retail outlet and:

    1. Buy your starter pack- it costs $7.95 and contains your reloadable Prepaid Visa card.
    2. Buy a reload card for the amount that you'd like to start your card off with - reload cards are available in amounts of $50, $100, $250 or $5001. A $3.95 fee per reload card will be deducted from your balance."
    • Wrong card. Gift card can not be reloaded

  • with the visa card's activation fee and starter pack cost $11.90. So a $50 iTunes card you pay $25, add that to $11.90, you effectively save 26.2%… this deal plays with numbers :|

    • There is no activation fee. Only the $5.95 for the card.

  • Just purchased a $50 iTunes card along with the $100 prepaid visa + $5.95.
Net result $30.95 for $50 = 38% off (which is better than the usual 2x$20 for $30 = 25% off)
