Yes definitely targeted. Does not have that coupon in my account.

    • +6

Nothing for me either. Looks like ebay are getting tired or getting out of budget for discounts to all members. Little scare for them before Amazon cuts the market share for big stores. We have already seen Good guys not showing up now with ebay discounts. Other sellers ( except Binglee, Dell and few more ) are jacking the prices for so called sales.
Wish sellers or ebay had been fined for discount drama recently like Kogan.

    • Same

    • +1

I got the 10% off email, but cant find the code and those codes listed above dont for me.

    • Same here.

      • Received same email but no promo code.

Anyone figured out what's going on?

  • Same none here

  • +1

Think it is targeted, tried the code and it didn't work.

  • +17

Neither do I. I bought a bloody $750 phone just yesterday too!
Prime example of "fml" I guess? First world problems ahoy.

    • +9

      There there, have a +1

    • Did you get the offer though? If not, doesn't matter.

    • +5

Did you at least use the code C5OZ for 5% off? Looks like it's still valid.

        • +1

Please tell me you at least used cashrewards right? ;P

        • +2

          @montorola:
Nah, I've never signed up for that..
          inserts your profile picture

  • +2

    Nothing again.

  • +7

When did you first get an email notification?

I have an email from ebay saying "10%off absolutely everything on eBay!" but the body makes no mention of the 10%, and there's no code. It only mentions other ebay deals going on right now like 20% off COTD

    • Same with me

    • I got one of those too around 10:30am this morning, and I was also confused. Looking in My eBay Summary, I can't see anywhere that mentions vouchers - so I'm not sure if any applies to myself?

    • +2

Thinking about it "10%off absolutely everything on eBay!" is actually false, since there's a limit of $50.

So if I bought something for $1000 and got $50 discount, that is not 10% off. They can't say it is 10% off absolutely everything if in this case the discount is only 5%.

    • It only mentions other ebay deals going on right now like 20% off COTD

Which expired on 15th May…. yep, good one eBay!

    • Same broken email and have tried all 4 codes and none worked. Did anyone get any of the codes to work?

  • +53

ZzzZzzzZzzZz… Someone wake me when Amazon is here.

Remember that time a targeted offer worked for you?!?!
    Nope. Me neither.

  • None of the coupons worked for me, even though I received an email lol

  • +39

Once again, 21 upvotes and 13 comments which are all saying it didn't work for them. STOP UPVOTING STUPID DEALS!

    • -2

      O well, I dont care…
All I want is the MemberAlwaysVotingPositive OZB badge for my hard work.

  • My gf got a physical letter from eBay to notify her of the $10 off coupon, which was odd. Anyone else had the same thing?

    • Yeah I got the physical letter. TENFORYOU and yes I already spent it haha

      • +3

That's strange, sending a letter for $1.00 when they have your email.

        • +1

What's weird about it? Elderly people don't read emails.

        • +3

@cdestratis: I'd read 10 joke forwards and send 10 complaint emails faster than it takes your brain to decipher this sentence, laddy.

        • @cdestratis: Well if they can't read emails, then there is no chance they would be able to set up an eBay account.

        • @WatchNerd: Why is that?

    • +1

Obviously you couldn't have if it was sent by AusPo. Those clowns wouldn't deliver it to you till mid year at best.

  • Thanks. Got the 10% off in my account. eBay even posted the code in the post!

    • +3

I better update my postal address…

  • +2

If the code does not show in "My eBay", then no point trying right? Because I seriously can't be bothered.
Do these codes ever work for people who did NOT already get notified by eBay? Because if not, then what is the point of posting these, as the targetted people already know about it?

    • I guess the point is, few people actually READ ebay emails anymore to see it - because they're mostly notifications for items you looked at 2 months ago, are not interested in buying, but their emails make them look like they're in your watchlist.

      • I never receive any emails from eBay, except when I just bought something.
I still think these posts are a waste of time.

        • I got a $12 magnetic phone cable with free shipping for $2, thanks to the recent 'free $10' post. :-)

        • @GregMonarch: did eBay not tell you you had it?

        • @Make it so: Nah. Well, I'm not certain actually. If you're subscribed to anything ebay (especially lately), you get unwanted junk from them too. So sometimes I just delete it without looking. But if I see ebay $ or % off mentioned here, I then watch for it in their emails.

Problem is, recently they began sending out what looks like watchlist reminders, for items you just BROWSED - not items you have in your watchlist. The emails are worded the same, and you recognise the picture - so you think… oops, I forget to bid on something. I was wasting so much time looking at items I'd already decided weeks ago I wasn't interested in, it was ridiculous. And the only way to turn them off, is to turn off your real watchlist reminders too. So be it - idiots at ebay strike again - now I'll buy even less, because those are turned off so I'll probably forget to bid on some things.

But with that specific $10 one, I read about it here, went to ebay - and it was down the bottom of the page where hundreds (thousands?) of people must never see it.

    • Yes.

There were a few promos about 1 or 2 years ago, where people did not get the email, yet the discounts worked.
It did happen with an eBay promo too.

I think it was after that, that the [Targeted] word was come up with for titles, and it was decided these posts are sometimes worthwhile.

      • +1

I remember the ones where you got a $10 voucher with no minimum spend. Those were great. But I am fairly sure that eBay changed (fixed) their coupon system since then.

  • Finally it is my turn to get this…have no idea what to buy though…

    • Printer cartilage. That's what I usually get.

      • +17

for protecting your printer trays from rubbing against each other?

        • -4

          No. It means printer ink.

Got a $10 off code in the (snail) mail the other day, very strange.

  • Is this appearing as a voucher in peoples' accounts?

  • Thanks OP, great chance to buy the LG OLED W series with this.

    • You're only getting $50 off.

At HN a casual comment to the salesman that the TV is expensive had him slash the price by $1000 on top of the free EFTPOS card, delivery and installation.

  • I received a coupon 'Just for you and for a limited time: Get 15% off your next purchase, up to a maximum discount of AU $50.00 off'

    • in your email or account?

      • I got an email from AusPost, which had a unique code for $10 off $30 spend at eBay.

  • Got jack all…

  • +2

My account was created before Ebay Australia existed. I believe it was moved over to AU but my balance is still in USD and I never get any local offers (OR US offers for that matter).

    • +2

My account was created way after Ebay Australia existed. I never get any local offers (OR US offers for that matter).

Don't feel too bad mate :)

    • So was mine. You're probably 'unsubscribed' from all their email/notifications.

    • Make a new account with a new email address?

  • didnt get shit

  • Thanks! I had a look in My Ebay and for some reason I have a $30 voucher expiring soon. Now to research what crap I need to purchase. Any ideas?

    • Lol @ for some reason

    • +1

Can you describe how to navigate to see where vouchers are shown?

      • +1

Click "My ebay" at the top of any screen. Then I think you see them mentioned at the bottom of the screen. Or just put something in your cart (JUST the cart - DO NOT buy it now), then click checkout, scroll down a bit and on the left there's a field to enter discount codes. Cut & paste the different codes one at a time, and I think you click a button. And… It tells you you're not eligible like everyone else.

  • +1

Too many deals, not enough time to enjoy them. Lol.

  • +2

    Wtf eBay

  • OP got all 4 codes??

  • Nothing… I am tired of never getting these vouchers, so I am not going to use eBay until they notice my absence and send me a voucher! :) I need a break from eBay anyway… :(

  • +4

Nothing for me. But, that's okay. I save 100%.

  • +10

Guys guys, those who can't use the code don't panic, try these ones instead:

    • MYZEROPERCENT
    • ZEROFORYOU
    • BUGGERALLDISCOUNT
    • NOTHINGIWANTTOBUYANYWAY
    • IAMWAITINGFORAMAZON

Recently I bought 4 lots of items, two lots off Aliexpress and two off Ebay. Short story version, all had issues with damage, missing items and fakes on some of the items. Aliexpress were MUCH easier to deal with than Ebay. What a rigmarole to get $9 back and a $1.99 lens refunded. Caveat emptor! Then the refund came back as the full lot. What a mess. Oh, and like always, no targeted code for me.

    • I dunno, they (Aliexpress) seem to make up the rules as they go along.

They used to guarantee a refund in full if your item didn't arrive by the promised date. But the reality was they would play you along until it arrived. One item I insisted they refund as it had arrived late (which annoyed me as I had needed earlier) and they were completely flabbergasted - they simply could not comprehend that my item had arrived safely and yet I was still wanting a refund.

Maybe a cultural thing or a language thing, they've since changed the wording to "Full refund if you don't receive your order."

      • +1

Maybe a cultural thing or a language thing, they've since changed the wording to "Full refund if you don't receive your order."

By what date? Without a date, they could give themselves 2 years, 10 years or even eternity, to get it to you. It would never hold up in court.

      • Well, you don't go to aliexpress for speedy, or even predictable, delivery. Two items ordered on the same day can arrive weeks apart.

Never had a problem getting a refund from aliexpress, and I've had to request several. Delays from sellers trying to drag it out, hoping they can deceive me into paying? Yep. Losing money because the bank takes an international transaction fee when the money is returned to my account? Yep. But I always get the refund.

Neg due to major issue with retailer. Issue: They never include me in these deals.
