  • What do you mean not expensive , … under $500?

All modern android phone will suit you. they all have decent cameras unless you are thinking, say, a $80 phone

    • sorry , yes under 500

I have bought phone from mobileciti before, they are in Sydney, stack is Australian with Australian manufacturers warranty
Ozbargain people seem to like Motorola https://www.mobileciti.com.au/motorola-g5-plus-16gb-grey seems ok and the latest version of android.
Have a look through the site a pick a few that you think you like then ask back here.

I'm personally looking for a OnePlus 3T as my main work phone. Retails for about $520 AUD if you know where to buy

Upgrading from my Galaxy S5, so I'm kind of in the same boat as you, but as a power-user I like my phones to be fast, responsive, and minimalist when it comes to software (that is, not as bloaty or gimmick-ridden as my Galaxy).

Hence I like phones from Motorola and Oneplus as they feature near-stock Android configurations. If you're looking for something inexpensive, consider the Motorola G4 (G4 Plus) or the new Moto G5.

I bought my relatives a Xiaomi Note 3 and a Xiaomi Mi Max, both of which are phablets with gigantic batteries and are competitively priced devices.

most phones nowadays have decent battery life, but one thing you will have to give up, as a S4 Samsung user, is the removable battery. The latest flagships nowadays have sealed back covers, and you can't easily swap in a battery like you can back in the old days.

    • What's the difference between the G4 and 5. Much the same price here https://www.mobileciti.com.au/motorola-g5-plus-16gb-grey

They reduced the physical size of the phone. G4 is 5.5 inches, while the G5 and G5+ is more compact at 5.2 inches

Under the hood there is also a significant upgrade in horsepower, going from 1.5ghz Snapdragon 617 to 2ghz Snapdragon 625.

Camera sensor is also different. You can also now swipe on the fingerprint sensor to do other things "back" or "show recents".

they will upgrade both the G5 and G5+ to a newer G5s and G5+s which has dual cameras.

        • So G5plus for $374 Australian isn't too bad?

        • @PVA:

          It was cheaper before.

You could get it for $342 if you have a Winter10 code on eBay (this code is targeted).

    Oppo F1S fits your description
    $300 unlocked
    250$ Optus locked

  • Xiaomi something

  • You really need to clarify what "not too expensive" means to you. For some people, it's $700, for others, it's $250.
Would you consider grey import? Would you consider a Chinese brand like Xiaomi? How excellent does the camera have to be?

    • budgets less than 500, I prefer non grey imports and non chinese brands like Xiaomi.
camera better than a galaxy s4

    • "not too expensive" to me means $39 rather than $9-29

If it legit just post it here. No need to be secret.

  • You don't get an excellent camera on mid range phones. You get an okay/decent camera.

  • Have you considered Moto Z Play? $599 RRP, TGG have it for $498.

Price beat at office works for another 5% off? …but TGG sale ends today apparently.

Moto g5 plus. By a long shot.

  • sony x p or huawei p9?

  • HTC One M8 ticks all those boxes and they are very cheap on eBay. Been using one for about six months and couldn't be happier. I haven't restarted it once.

  • I bought a moto g5 plus just last week, from Officeworks price beating mobileciti, $365.

Big improvement in general over my Nexus 5, though the camera isn't particularly great in low light. I was expecting better performance as it's meant to be the same camera as in a galaxy s7.

The quality of phone calls is a bit ordinary too, much tinnier than the Nexus 5.

But the display is good, it's snappy, has Android 7, and the moto add-ons are pretty useful.

  • HTC 10 is $599 at the moment at jb hifi, or under $500 if you want to play the grey import market. Great phone.

  • The phone you want has just been posted: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/309881
