  • That's a great deal!

  • Wow supercheap

Might get one as a backup for this price

Another Vodafone 12 months unlimited calls prepaid offer! So many choices…now if only they'd offer one for Optus or Telstra networks

EDIT: Yes I wish I had have leapt at the ALDI prepaid thing…$249/12 months would have been nice

    • Telechoice is the only good telstrareseller option IMO.
Pitty international minutes are limited to a handful of countries

    • +9

Have you tried Vodafone recently? I've found them much more reliable than Optus. Obviously depends on your area, but may be worth looking into.

      • +4

I love Vodafone; for me it's the only carrier that isn't congested as crap during peak hour on Sydney trains.

On Telstra and Optus data is unusable for me for about half the trip.

FYI: I commute daily to the City and live in the North. YMMV.

        • I'm in the Inner West of Sydney and I've had friends on Voda barely get HSDPA in an area where both my friend on Telstra and I (Optus) get 4G and more than 3-4 bars of signal.

        • +1

          @Droidyy:

That makes sense, my best mate's house doesn't get a working data Vodafone signal on H+ and he lives in Stanmore. I know Optus just manages to get a H+ data signal there.

YMMV, really. That's how carriers work.

For me it makes no difference, I get LTE Telstra, LTE Vodafone, H Optus signal at my house, where I live I get a full LTE signal on all three outdoors. Same for USYD, except a few lecture theatres are blackspots for Optus/Vodafone.

The make/break for me is whether or not data is working on the train or not.

I will say if I'm on the train at say, noon all 3 networks work fine.

Before commiting to any carrier, I'd strongly advise testing out their network where you live first.

      • Making calls are alright but i've noticed that when using google maps, the screen refreshes of my position keeps lagging behind due to searching for gps. its something that rarely happens with my carrier before (liveconnected). so annoying.

    • Are you referring to this deal or is Vodafone offering another similar directly?

      • +1

Just this deal. Lebara uses the Vodafone network

  • +2

thanks for this. the international minutes makes it a good deal

  • +1

    Nice. Thanks!

  • +2

when is the last date to activate the new sim?

    • I want to know this as well. And also the last date to activate the $7.90 one month deal?

    • +3

Looks like you get 2 months to activate sim…..From T&C's at http://www.lebara.com.au/promos-terms-and-conditions

Offer available on National and Mega Plans 360 Day and 180 Day recharges and SIM starter packs purchased online on or before 06/06/17 and activated within 60 days. Any non-activated SIMs will be cancelled….

  • Reading some bad reviews of their Customer Services. Should I go with the Kogan deal a few weeks earlier? They're both using Vodafone network but Kogan is also about $20 more.

    • +1

Go with Lebabra I've been on their prepaid and it's not bad.

      • +1

Still waiting for the free Kogan sim to arrive. Ozbargain in me is whispering Lebara. Why not. Ordered.

        • hahah.. i hear it echoing too.. my hubby said kogan, lebara, lebara

What did you order the $7.90 or this annual deal?

        • @shez1212: almost ordered the annual deal but saw @rheags comment so I ordered the 7.90 instead.

        • Did the same.

    • found the kogan data speeds at 1mbps at peak times and lots of dropouts. I am using a 3g older fone though

    • I never had to deal with their customer service, ported my number from vaya to lebara just through there website, only took a few hours and it was activated and good to go, no complaints from me.

  • +1

Are you kidding me!!! I just bought Kogan yesterday and waiting for a sim still!

    should I jump ship?!

    • +1

Do you want to save money?

      • Maybe I can sell my kogan $4.90 voucher & sim cards…

    • i did the same and just got my sim. not activated yet so wondering if i can cancel that and get this. what do you think?

      • I think u should just use both :)

  • +3

I contacted Jeenee mobile about matching their plans with these new deals that have been coming out recently. They said they will be announcing some new prices on their website in the coming weeks. So if you're with Jeenee, it might be worth holding out.

    • +1

The good thing about this deal than Jeenee is that you wont be charged more even all data is used up.Jeenee will charge you per MB after the limit.

  • +5

It appears the standalone 30 day sim pack with 5gb is currently marked down from $29.90 to $7.90. So you should be able to buy that and once switched buy the recharge pin listed above and you get 13 months for $187.90.

    • +1

Do you have to switch before buying the annual recharge pin? as the promotion will end in 6 days, probably not be able to receive the $7.90 pack in time.

      • That just means the price will only be $180 until then. You have 60 days to activate it. So it doesn't matter when you receive the $7.90 sim. As long as you buy the recharge pin before the promo is finished ie.

        • +1

There's still 15 days left in my current SIM with a different provider.

If I buy the $7.90 30-day SIM pack and recharge PIN before June 7th but NOT activate them before 7th and activate and do the porting after 15 days, will it work?

  • Referral code? Does the data drop off if you reach the limit? Never bought these 12 month plans but offer is extremely tempting and appears like lebarra offers international calls. Is it literally impossible to exceed prepaid amount?

    • That's odd: I can't find the terms and conditions - I'm curious what happens if you go over the data limit, as well.

    • +1

Is it literally impossible to exceed prepaid amount?

Yes, on a prepaid like this or Kogan, no on, say, Vaya where it's post paid. Data stops until your 30 days ticks over and you can then decide to buy more data if you want. I'm on the $10.36 Kogan deal and loving it.

      • Thanks for the advice! So if I'm interested in taking up the deal linked "360 Day SIM Pack - Unlimited Talk, Text & MMS + 5GB Every 30 Days":

        1. Buy this and the 30 day deal for $7.90
        2. Once Sim arrives activate 30day deal.
        3. Once 30 Days is reached, activate the 360 Day deal

Does this correctly summarize the best way forward given all the comments? Since this deal states SIM Pack, I don't need to order a separate Sim card?

        • +1

          Correct.

        • @Gershom: thanks! Will buy tonight.

    • Data just cuts off after reaching data limit, no strings attached as far as I'm aware.

  • I'm currently with OVO atm and the reception is sh!thouse.

How is the reception with Lebara? and what happens after 360 days? does it renew?

    • Replied to wrong post. Please delete

    • What area do you live in?

If you aren't sure maybe test them for a month first?

  • -3

I bought this deal 2 weeks ago for $200, so this is a great deal. Contacted Lebara today to see if I could get the difference refunded, but no cheese :(

Are the business legally liable to refund the difference in price? If this isn't possible, can I request a refund and then just buy the new deal at the lower price?

    • +15

I also went to caltex today and asked them to refund the difference as the fuel price dropped since i filled up a couple of days ago. They laughed at me.

    • +3

      Nope, sadly.

Otherwise I'd sue Woolies and Coles for charging $11 for a box of 100 Twinings tea bags (regularly on sale for $5).

      • Really hoping that was sarcasm StrayfireX, an ozbargainer paying full price for tea, shameful!😆

    • +3

Similar circumstances, but I paid $239 a few days ago, and Lebara agreed on a refund once I pointed out that 5.1(b) of their T&C's notes that refunds for change of mind within 14 days are permitted.

      • Thanks! Just what I needed

  • Lol…

Btw i just activated my $199… But how come it shows 'optus 4G' on my notification bar. Although when i checked the apn setting it is voda.

    • Do you have a phone that you originally got with an Optus plan?

      • Optus - Vodafone roaming arrangements?

      • Hmmn yea…. Vaya lol.
I hv tried to reboot, change sim name etc

  • Thanks

  • Bought from last deal and nothing turned up, no simcard almost over 3 weeks, contaced them but there is no clue.
Yes, you get what you pay for …its right for me.

    • did you buy 365 days plan or 365 days plan sim pack?

if it was 365 days plan, you have to ask them to post out a sim pack for free (post express), or buy one from woolies

      • I bought a sim pack… Nothing happen!
I was planning to post out from tpg. I saw their delivery time frame before bought it but now it is out of my plans. Smh

        • same thing happened to my wife, i made the call ask for sim pack, received after 3 days

  • Did you get the $20 deposit back from Vaya?

    • +1

I got that back awhile ago by asking online chat to credit it back to my account. No issues.

      • Thanks, I just got $20 back as credit. but I am still confuse about "You paid Month In Advance and it will cover the last invoice in case you want to cancel.". looks they charge a monthly fee ahead.

        • +1

That's right, after your last bill, they refund the difference to your bank account.

  • great deal

  • What happens after 12 months?

    • +6

You port your number out to whichever is the cheapest at that time.

  • Can someone please help me find what are those "selected international countries" are?

    • Countries with very cheap call rates where 5 dollars credit would actually be about 250 minutes worth.

  • Does anybody know if unused int mins/data rollsover? Tempted to get this for the mrs.

  • All of my oay goes into my freaking expenses. Looking to buy a 3t and this plan since 4 months still got 250 in bank. Fml.

  • I hope Vodafone itself brings out a deal like this, only reason I'm hesitant is that Vodafone has the $5 roaming which the resellers don't offer.

    • Good luck as vf can never come to close to this what so ever to be honest with ya

      • +1

But they are reselling the network to lebra, so surely?

  • +1

Those not wanting to wait around for a lebara SIM can try getting your hands on the starter pack at Coles for $10 instead of $7.90. Actually, this deal is worth it as 1000fb PTS = $5 & possibly can pay with a gift card.
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/308801

How long does a lebara SIM take to ship out?

    • Allow up to 6 business days.

    • Targeted :(

      • Some ppl managed to buy it without having to scan flybuys. Worth a shot..maybe just take the IMG printout of the post.

Also, associated poster said you can buy it without being targeted.

90 day activation as oppose to 60 days.

        • +1

          Update.

Just picked a SIM up from Coles..scanned up as $10 even before flybuys. But not sure if I'll get the points.

But good for those ppl who don't want to wait for a SIM.

Payed with Coles gc aswell. :)

        • @shez1212:

Can I ask how the SIM package looks like? I see $29.90 Lebara prepaid SIM in Coles, but there is no information on the package, not sure if it is the 30 Day SIM with Unlimited Calls/SMS, 5GB data.

        • +1

          @excite:

Yes a 30day preloaded card for $20.90 plan selling for $10 at Coles
          Activate on line

Was not advertised in store but scanned at $10

        • @excite:

http://imgur.com/a/EnZD6 like this one. It does says national call plan.. I'm guessing its the one.. no other in coles except the $2 sim. Paid with GC so worked out to be $8.. but I don't think I'm getting the bonus points… they did not show up on my flybuys account.. damn it!

My coles had heaps.. like 20..

        • @excite:

Mine has different packaging but common is the sticker with $29.90rrp sim
          On it

  • Does anyone know if the coverage and speed of Lebara's network is good in metro Melbourne??
Not sure whether to port over from Vaya.

    • Get a $2 Voda SIM an?d test it. Works excellent for me in SE Suburbs.

  • Did they will email me a voucher or post the voucher to me?

I bought the 365 days plan this morning, but no email from them?

    • +1

If it's not a SIM pack, they will email you the voucher.

      • Thanks, Justmiike.

I am a new customer and ordered the sim card as well, so they will post me the sim card and charge voucher in one bag?

Looks strange, Kogan mobile email me the voucher first, then post me the sim card.

        • +1

With my experience, they sent me the voucher within 2 days of ordering via email. The SIM pack followed after 6 business days. I followed up with the SIM pack using their online chat. Was helpful. If you don't get the voucher soon, use online chat to see why.

    • +1

Make sure you check your spam folder for the voucher, found mine in the spam.

  • I want to port to Lebara, do I need to order sim pack first?

  • +1

anyone know if the $5 international call credit can also be used for international SMS/mms?
Everything I can see appears to refer to call minutes only. Which seems odd.

    • same ask here. Couldn't find anything on its website. Personally this is a deal breaker for me if it doesn't support international sms

  • Does Lebara have VoLTE?

    • Wrong question - does Voda have Volte. Yes.

      • Only on certain phones though

    • I have a VoLTE supported device and always get 4G with lebara. I've personally never noticed a difference?

  • Just to let everyone know, despite it stating 'offers end in XXX'. It actually ends at midnight rather than at 9am as suggested by the timer. I had this issue in the last offer, and Lebara would not offer the other deal. So if you want this, order before midnight 7th of June :)
