      • Interesting. Can you still buy an item and enter into the contract but not pay it right away, just to reserve the price so that when the code is live and they jack the price, you locked in the price earlier and can get the 20% off?

These days most sellers require you to pay straight away or the sale doesn't go through.

        • Nah you can't because the code doesn't work until that time, I doubt they'll jack from here because it seems like most of them already have overnight. However there's still some juicy bargains. But seems like eBay wants to hide this sale until later.

        • @doweyy:

In the old days you could buy an item, and then you had a few days to pay it. This is a lot rarer now, they expect you to pay it immediately or the purchase does not go through.

Theoretically you'd be able to lock in the price, and when it comes time to pay for it, you enter the code when it goes live.

But if they already raised prices overnight, there's not much point.

          @lostn:

Ohh okay I had never heard of that, doesn't seem like it's possible these days.

Here's a few examples why I think most of it has been jacked.

S8 $1149 now, was $999 last time sold

          iPhone 7 Plus $1459, was $1299

But it really depends on the seller, some places have actually lowered their price from prior sale. Usual Computer jacking also.

bought this 3 months back, still unopened :)

Always a popular laptop, but I think it's due for a price drop (or upgrade in specs).

  • When I go to checkout, it shows $399 for me.
I chose pay from credit card option.

    Am I missing something here?

    • Wait till 10 and then enter the code

    • Code starts at 4pm aest

  • Does anyone have one of these - just want to know what real world battery life is like? Is it anywhere near the stated 10 hours? Thanks

    • +1

Reviews and comments on the other posts about this deal seem to indicate that it gets pretty close to that. I've got one but haven't used it that much, however looking at the battery meter when I have, I reckon I could easily get at least 8-9 hours out of it.

      • Thanks!

  • Nailed, thanks OP….

Hey internet strangers! I purchased this laptop last time it was on sale and I've been using it for highschool the past couple of weeks. Below is a link to an overview I made on the laptop itself with some more technical information included too.

A big tl;dr: A great laptop for the money. An included SSD is perfect for productivity and really defined this laptop deal.

The processor is actually really nice and isn't going to hold you back if all you're. Even decent for some older and less-demanding games and 3D rendering.

Battery life varies depending on what you're doing
But the ¬9 hour of battery life in video playback is pretty accurate. When I'm rendering it can drop down to 2 hours easily or float around 5+ hours with some heavier productivity.

It is upgradeable to 8gb of ram though I heavily doubt you'll take advantage of it so it's really not worth the trouble imo.

Check the link for some more insight, but a decent screen when adjusted.

Feel free to ask any questions and I'll do my best to answer :)

    • Hi,I just bought one yesterday.May I ask you how long did it take for delivery? Can I expect it before June 21st?

      • +1

It took 14 days for mine to be delivered, which was earlier than the estimated delivery date on both eBay and Dells tracking service. I live in SA but I believe the package originally arrived in Sydney so it depends which state you're in too.

But you're more than likely to receive it before the 21st It's shipped from Malaysia and may take a few days to process so don't sweat it too much.

        • Thank you so much

  • Thanks for the write up. Great info.
