  • Anyone know how easy it is to upgrade this OS to win 10 pro through lenovo? Otherwise seems a great deal for me.

    • I'd do it through the Windows 10 Assistive Technologies way and update the drivers from Lenovo's website after the upgrade.

      • That's for Windows 7 to 10
        Not home to pro

        • Woops missed that part.

      • The laptop comes with Windows 10 Home edition. I think he wants to update to Windows 10 Pro edition, not upgrade from Windows 7 or 8 to Windows 10.

I don't think Lenovo can upgrade it for you through their eBay store as far as I'm aware. Through the Lenovo website you can.
So your option to upgrade to pro is through Windows store or get a retail copy of Windows 10 Pro.

    • Just buy a cheap licence key off eBay.
      Done it plenty of times.
      Use these instructions:
      https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10…

      • thanks I might do that, or I think my current laptop has a pro license and may be able to swap it out.

  • Looks decent. How much after Cashback?

    • $754.16

The E570 with 256GB SSD is available for $849 directly from Lenovo - http://www3.lenovo.com/au/en/laptops/professional/thinkpad-e…

Much better cashback via Lenovo website too.

    • +2

E570 with 256 SSD at $849 seems to have i5-7200U processor while attached deal is i7-7500U. Am I missing something.

      • Good spotting. The i7-7500U is available for $1059 but not sure the differences between the 2 processors warrants an additional $210

      • There's hardly any noticeable difference between the CPUs.

Both have hyper threading. Only major difference is the slightly faster clock speed, boost and cache size.

      • E570 can take extra internal drive and has cd drive which can take a caddy.

        • Do you mean that there's a second, empty hard drive bay on the E570?

  • Great deal, very happy with mine.

Edit: Mine is 16GB version, would first make sure that RAM can be easily upgraded.

  • Yes, but Levono has 6% cashback on their website comparing to 1.3% from Ebay.

So effectively, that's a (10%+90%*1.3%)-6% = 5.17% extra savings compared to previous Levono Deal for the same laptop.

    • and you have to wait like a millennium to get the money from CR

      • I'll give you that.

  • Looks decent for light gaming with dedicated gpu

  • I think this was the best deal with 16GB RAM
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/300754

    • I'd say they are very comparable - most users don't need 16GB of ram , and you can always add an extra stick of ram if you need

  • Good deal, but i dont need a laptop

  • so where's the extra ram deal? someone might want to upgrade to 16GB

  • Why in the world did they switch the Fn & Ctrl keys???

    • Can be changed in BIOS

      • Even if you could, you'd have to risk swapping the keys themselves?

I just find it very odd as it's counter to most (all?) other laptops….

  • Why is this listed as expired?
