  • Might just be my experience but I've always had bad experiences with toshiba hdd, ymmv tho

  • toshiba v seagate?

    • +3

      toshiba

      • How come? I can't decide whether to get the Seagate or Toshiba one

        • Does this Toshiba drive have the sleep issue?

        • @Wally:

          Could you elaborate?

        • @Zeath163:
IIRC the portable drive has firmware that will put the drive to sleep after a short time period regardless of any setting on the operating system of the device it is attached to. Can be problematic if attaching to Xbox etc

        • I bought 5x 2TB Seagate and 5x 2TB Toshiba from OW in 2015 for work.
I had to RMA 3x Seagate in April 2017 because the write speed went kaput (10-50kB/s).
I only RMAed 1x Toshiba in 2016 due to clicking sound.

RMAing a Toshiba is a bit difficult though, I remember there wasn't any online form that you can do like Seagate's. Toshiba wants you to go back to the store you bought it from and replace it there.

Sweet, needed a bandage. The HDD is a nice bonus

    This or the Seagate?

  • $80 for cotton?
    Am I reading that correctly…

  • damn…who bought all the Cotton Buds? sold out! :(

  • So which one is the deal? Cotton buds or HDD?

  • Wow…was tempted to buy this with the CBIGBANG code which ended at 2pm. Luckily i didn't because i would be really mad now that there is a 20% off!

  • 2TB portable hard disk drive and a pair of tweezers - sounds like a great night in!

  • the title. lol

HDD and tweezers. had to read it twice.

  • wow, ordered the HDD at 3:59pm yesterday, got it at 7:30am this morning- impressive!

  • Is anyone else surprised how thick the disk is? It's twice as thick than in the promo pics or in the packaging. It looks there as it was slightly thicker tham the usb port it has. It's a brick IRL.

This is a one surprising scam from Toshiba.
