Might be worth noting that this looks like the A119S V2 model which has the new pins. It's the second photo on the ebay auction. It should also come with a foam pad.

  • But No GPS on this. Aus stock means Zilch as anyway the sellers are importing in Bulk from Alibaba and reselling. With GPS lowest price is AU $119 after coupon.

    • Aus stock means Zilch

not having to wait a month + for delivery means something to some people

All China stock are sent via Expedited so a week at max. Aus Post from SYD-MEL takes more time than DHL from HKG to MEL. AusPost just love them

        • What? Calling BS on that. Stuff from China from the usual electronics stores take over a month unless you want to spend $30+ on postage.

        • +1

See the Postage Type its UBI Smart parcel, its not the same postage as Registered Airmail. There are lot of fast shipping type from China/HKG now which comes within a week or in my fast it was posted on Saturday afternoon from Hong Kong and reached me Monday afternoon. Compare AusPost lol which cant deliver my Express Post Parcel from Brisbane CBD to melbourne CBD in a day.

          @regenade:

          I concur.
I was surprised with the arrival of 2 parcels (1x ex CN, 1 x ex HK) which arrived in 7 days to rural QLD.
Interestingly an item order the same day ex MLB took 10 days.

Having said that, In ordering ex CN I still will factor in a 4 week delivery period which may affect my purchasing decision.

        • If you have a spare 10 minutes, check this out

Touches on the value of shipping in China.
          I found it quiet interesting.

        • @saard: Not so….
I ordered a A119 from an ebay chinese supplier and it arrived here in 6 working days.
It was UBI Smart Parcel with tracking and paid no extra for it.
Agree that some normal items can take weeks but check the estimated delivery time quoted by the seller on ebay and the method of delivery before you order.

        • @xywolap:But when it is written in Bold Australian Seller and Sydney Australia Post I see most people fall for it , they are anyway Chinese sellers using local warehouse as a Transit.

        • @regenade: Not all are liars…. just most LOL
I know for a fact that Joying does have an Australian warehouse in Sydney and stock listed as being situated there actually is.
If they quote incorrect delivery estimates in their listing they dont get away with it for long.. that is why ebay asks if the delivery estimate was accurate in your feedback.

  • Bought one. Thanks Op. Defenitely looks like v2 from the pictures

Similar price for a unit with the GPS module & a hard wire kit http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-A119S-Capacitor-Novatek-96660…

Downside being ex CN vrs AU

    • Good one.

I personally have limited my purchase from CN seller. In last 12 months, i have seen increase in items being defective when purchased from ebay, so it's easier to return to AU sellers than shipping internationally.

PayPal covers up to $40 AUD return postage up to 8 times per year on eligible purchases.
If you initiate a PayPal dispute noting your preference is to return for a full refund, PayPal will refund on receipt of the tracking information, rather than wait for the item to make it back to the seller.

If you want to save some coin on stuff ex the people republic, there has to be some compromise.

Cheapest AUS stock inc GPS I found is $152.88 less the offer.
Listing images however are of a V1 unit.
V2 units have just launched, they will take time to filter through for local resale.
I would be cautious of being caught out with a V1 unit

        • Thanks for the info, i did not know about the return postage cover up.

Ya, have to be careful to ensure V2 is received not V1. Let me try some negotiation with seller, if he can meet this offer with gps :)

@b4rgainhunter: Let me know how you go! I don't really need the GPS, but it'd be nice to get the time correct all the time.

        • @eug:

but it'd be nice to get the time correct all the time

Are you sure thats a thing?
I run a V119 on my windscreen and a V118 on my rear window, both with GPS modules.
I tend to have to correct the time every few month.

        • @Cheap Charlie: It seems to be… check out the second-last post here:
          http://support.viofo.com/support/discussions/topics/19000014…

        • @eug:

Thank you, I may need to double check the correct GMT has been selected.

        • @eug: No luck, so i have to go with same order, or cancel order but then there will be no discount of $20 as it is expired. Will find GPS module separately later if needed.
