FYI their invoice doesn't have GST added to the total therefore is not claimable.

      • And you'll need to pay it if it's over $1000.

        • I've msged to enquire. During last deal it only took few days for the phone to arrive and therefore they had them here.

      • -2

If it was Australian stock it would have GST. So good spot.

      • For whomever might be interested, I just have a TRS refund today with the invoive they provided on the previous sale. GST was not added to the total but the officer didnt seem to have trouble with it.

    Watwatwat

  • What's Vaya like when it comes to after sale customer care?

    • +8

After you get the item, just deal with samsung directly.

      • It seems like stocks are in Hong Kong.

        • "Australian Stock"

        • +2

It seems like stocks are in Hong Kong.

It literally says this in the title of the listing…

64GB Australian Stock Local 24 Month Samsung Warranty

        • +3

@IceCreamBandit: yea but it says 20 days delivery from HK.

        • +2

          @tajid:

It also says this in the listing.

it may not be possible to ship your order from within Australia. Some items may be shipped from our Hong Kong warehouse.

          AND

Generally next day from our Sydney or our Hong Kong warehouse into Sydney International on a tracked courier. Add an additional day to Brisbane, Perth, Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide and other major regional centres. Regional areas may take longer depending on remoteness.

        • +14

          @IceCreamBandit:

Item location: Hong Kong, Hong Kong
          Posting to: Australia

          mate not falling for it.
after the 6months of paypal protections if phone breaks down they dont want to hear from you

        • @IceCreamBandit: I don't think negging is a nice tbh.

Yea but as mentioned above, if it's posted from HK then you may need to pay tax again.

        • +1

          @Stealthzor:

If Vaya are stupid enough to ship Australian stock to HK to send it back, then good for them.

Honestly I think it is just an error on Vaya's part in not changing the item location when the listing is for local stock.

        • @tajid:

I don't think negging is a nice tbh.

          Wasn't me.

Yea but as mentioned above, if it's posted from HK then you may need to pay tax again.

Are Vaya dumb enough to do that to their customers?

Read what I got from their shipping, they have Australian and HK warehouses. Using logic, where do you think Australian stock would be stored?

        • @IceCreamBandit:
It is not stupid at all. Buy Samsung Australia Stocks - Vaya don't need to pay gst and import tax (just ship Australia stocks from China or Korea to Hong Kong). Send from Hong Kong - Vaya don't need to pay gst and import tax. Consumer pay GST. Then Vaya's Australia Stocks are at least 10% cheaper then others.

        • @IceCreamBandit: Previous deal had location as Australia so yes hopefully it's just an error on their side.

Well yea I stated it a couple posts below you that I don't understand why they are posting Aust stock from HK…. and few posts above saying I've msged them to confirm.

  • +2

Did some creative editing for you op ;)

    • +2

I commend you for editing around my remarks. You are a gentleman and a scholar.

  • +9

I don't understand it being Australian stock but coming from Hongkong?

    • +8

because they can state what ever on ebay and get away with it.

    • +4

      Ad is misleading.

if it is Australian stock, the stock is imported by Samsung and the products is sold with GST in price and posted from warehouse located in Australia.

all the rest is overseas grey import stock.

    • I purchased the s8 from last deal which is also stated "australian stock" it is actually Aus stock with aus adaptor and they sent it from Amaysim. Not sure any connection between Amaysim and Vaya

      • Amaysim owns Vaya.

  • Previous deal was Australian stock but I would confirm with them befor buying

  • +17

Hey, seeing some of the same names as last Vaya s8 thread. I contacted Vaya eBay last time and they "confirmed" not grey stock, Australian stock, 24 month Samsung warranty. Then eBay revoked the money back guarantee for this seller and that was super sketchy, so I tried to price match at Officeworks. They said that they could match Aussie retailers on eBay but they had direct correspondence they read to me from the Aussie Vaya team saying that the eBay page was completely separate and don't sell Aussie stock. I insisted that I'd contacted Vaya eBay team and they'd confirmed Aussie stock but Officeworks said they had 10+ people already call about the same Vaya deal that week and that the (non-eBay) Vaya team had confirmed that it wasn't Aussie stock.

IMHO too sketchy for me, I see that eBay has put the money back guarantee back on this item but I'd avoid it for the money saved.

    • +1

I've only ever bought grey but this price isn't good enough. I don't drink much so don't break my phones.

    • +3

Agreed - they are very sketchy. I have a feeling they assume people don't do their homework and just buy.

  • +16

I previously was on a Vaya plan, they slog you with hidden costs here and there. There was a $10 security deposit, which was increased by another $20 to make it $30.

Be careful before purchasing, and if you are, make sure you pay on PayPal and never be afraid to confront them with a chargeback if they renege on the deal (cancel your order, or say it's out of stock but offer you an alternative, usually cheaper, model)

Also, look at their reviews on http://www.productreview.com.au/p/vaya.html

    1.8 stars!

    A recent one 30th May

Purchased a new hand set from Vaya.
I am totally disappointed and will not recommend anyone AVOID!!!
    1. Ordered and paid new handset on 7th of May 2017 and received on 29th May 2017.
    2. The product advertised as "Samsung Galaxy S5 [G900i 16GB Australian Stock] × 1"
it was shipped from Hong Kong.
    FALSE ADVERTISEMENT.
3.1300 dial phone number is unavailable all time only way to get help is through email takes 48 hours
    4. Their courtesy follow up emails are computer generated and all the links they provide don't work.
    5. AVOID!!

    Another one 23rd May

Bought a phone on 26/4. The order was finally 'verified' 2.5 weeks later. It is 22/5 today and the there is no sign of the phone even having left the warehouse. Everytime one goes to the website for an 'online chat', I'm told it will leave the warehouse in 2 days or so, and it's been a month since purchase already. The customer service team via chat is quite 'robotic'. They make no attempts to make up for the inconvenience caused and just ask you to put up with it.

    Poor timeliness/delivery
    Poor customer service

  • Speaking of CRACKA, if you happen to drop this phone (it's been dubbed the 'slipperiest' and 'most breakable' of all time) Samsung charge $230 for replacement screen.

    • this is true, I was very careful until I got my case, slippery as fudge and the edges don't help.

    • No to mention the front glass scratches so easy only from being in my pocket nothing else scratches the screen up…

$230 is not too bad for s8+ screen

    • -1

the 'slipperiest' and 'most breakable' of all time

Sounds like moronic attention whoring by making stuff up to display ads.

      • Huh?

    • Look I think that's pretty funny and I don't doubt that it's break easily like any other phone. However I preordered this phone and have never been happier with a phone. It feels amazing in my hand, I have no idea what slipperiness you're talking about. It's also skinnier because of its aspect ratio so I can hold this very firmly in my hand.

Not to mention, I have a tempered glass screen protector and a modest Spigen ultra hybrid case. It also isn't slippery, but then it too is made of solid matter and my fingers have grip so again it's not a problem for me. I spent a lot of money on a phone I want to last me for a long time. I protect it accordingly. I would assume most people frequenting this site would be similarly sensible with their money and purchases?

      • +1

I own one.. best phone on the planet but it's a grenade.

      • What screen protector do you use? My wife found her case and the protector were lashing because of the curved edges

        • Mine is Zuslab. Fits perfectly with the case. Has been on for about 3 weeks now. Lower sensitivity which can be frustrating but better than a broken screen. Some fellas on here were talking about an expensive UV cured protector called something dome. It looks difficult to apply and costs $60 but is apparently the best.

          Good luck

  • anyone game enough to try their luck?

    • +8

Galaxy S8 released first, so yeah..

    • +21

samsung copying a phone that doesnt exist yet?

this is is a whole new low for samsung

    • -4

      come on guys!

  • +1

Sorry but this is not going to be Australian stock.

I have bought a Macbook from them. Just go to their eBay feedback section and check all the negative comments. All from people that are annoyed about their phones being shipped from Hong Kong.

    • Seems to be all over eBay with all sorts of things, claiming Aussie stock, fast delivery and turns out to be import.

  • Import stock
    No tax invoice
    Warranty issues

I bought from mobile citi for $1,131

  • -1

how do we validate if we order ?

  • I prefer mobileciti myself to be honest.

  • Lots of hate for Vaya.

    http://www.productreview.com.au/p/vaya.html

Not worth the risk for me.

  • you can get a price match for Vaya with some crafty talking at JB hifi and office works. Picked up a new S8 from JB hifi a couple of days ago price matching to Vayas last deal.

    • Even with eBay discount?

      • No, Vaya during last deal was significantly cheaper in price prior to discount and they are only willing to price match/beat based on that.

    • Photo of receipt? :)

      • Please check the original thread posted above. Unless you can proof that current price listed is cheaper, you will find it very difficult to price beat/match.

They DON'T care what discounts are currently available.

    • Mate think it's a bit misleading to state this given the price of the phone for this thread isn't any different to what's current price at both JB & OW. Last deal had different pre-discounted prices.

      • I got it for $970. I posted the receipt

        • As mentioned, you were price matching OLD Vaya ebay price, prices have changed since and I've been to numerous jb hifis and OW and they all wanted to see the listing price before even considering anything.

        • @tajid: they didnt ask to see it. I just showed theozbargin thread and officeworks receipt that was all. You can see in the comment section ozbargin/officeworks is referenced

        • @aragorn179: Well you must be very very very very lucky.

I went to a few OfficeWorks and showed Monitha's invoice and the whole thread and they still want to see ebay's price. I went to like 3 different stores.

Went to JB and they couldn't care what's on the receipt, they wanted to see what's currently the price of the phone at OW.

Good luck to others trying though.

Can someone change the OP as this isn't Australian stock

    • -2

      Prove it.

  • Vaya have terrible customer service and I could never ever recommend them just to save a few dollars

  • Does anybody know if the dual sim version coming to Australia anytime soon?

  • +1

Bought it on the previous deal. Can confirm:
    VERY quick shipping.
    100% Australian stock.
    No Problems.

    • Does the invoice include GST?

      • No, please check the previous deal. Link available in the OP.

      • My invoice included the GST amount along with ABN which should be enough for a TRS claim? They were also happy to change the name on the invoice to match my partner's name who will be travelling overseas soon.

    • Ditto - mine arrived within 3 days and was 100% Aus stock :)

  • +1

Going into Officeworks today, wish me luck gents!

  • +2

Following blehgg's comment I went into my local Officeworks to try my luck.

I walked away with 2 x Samsung Galaxy S8+'s for $1,120.05 (each) after price match and 5% off quote, down from $1,327.00 per handset!

Used: https://www.ozmobiles.com.au/cheap-smartphones/cheap-samsung… as the source material and there was no issue.

Saleswoman had one look at the website and gave the approval! I'm very satisfied considering the amazing reviews so far!

    • Hey mate. Well done. Are you able to PM me a copy of the receipt? Many thanks

    • He's not being truthful, he told me he was flirting with the sales lady! :)

    • Oh man did I have a hard time getting a Syd Officeworks to pricematch.
They declined it 3 times and each time I had to escalate to a senior employee and finally to head office.
The main stick points were Ozmobiles warranty wording, and contradictions with manufacturers warranty and that they say they open each box and verify (paraphrasing).
Took over an hour, then they made me feel like I had ripped them off.

      • but at the end you succeeded?

        • wow dude, I feel like I was let off.. But at the same time, the saleswoman that I spoke with regarding the price match agreed its Australian stock, that offers a warranty and is located in Australia. I referred to their policy as I was asking and sort of made it impossible for her to decline the request. Did you approach it in the same manner?

        • I did, but it was the hardest pricematch ever, and I spent ~80mins there.

        • +1

          @ThePriceMatchGuy:
          - I showed the sales lady on my phone, she called a guy over
          - Then he looked up Ozmobiles, spent ~15mins.
          - He said these are open box… can't. I insisted it matches their policy.
          - He then called over his manager.
          - They then spent another ~20mins examining.
          - Nope.
          - I insisted.
          - Another manager came over… he was a also totally against it explaining types of sales, and warranties, and agreements with the distributor.
          - Head office call…
          - OK this one time we'll do it.

        • @raybies:

wow, I just walked in - feigned stupidity - "How does your price match work" - he looked on my phone - said yep - and pulled one out of the cupboard…

        • @blehgg: hahahaha!! Dude that is awesome!! Got the 8+?

        • @blehgg:

reciept photo? Might make the process a bit easier :)

        • @Heracles26: I was successful too and have receipt on hand.

        • @ThePriceMatchGuy:

          Could you PM me? :)

        • @Heracles26:

          Only the s8

        • @blehgg: Could you please PM me too? :D

        • @LennyT:

find it when i get home - unless you want the S8+ <—- the pricematchguy would have to help out

        • @blehgg: S8+ is so worth the little bit extra, ahh the screen and battery life!

        • @ThePriceMatchGuy:

:) im sure it would be - I like operating one hand.

The battery life is fine for me - 1 day - 50%.

          the real-estate - yea ~ maybe ~ but coming from a Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro - (150USD…4050 battery) - Its good ~ but if the camera was better ~ I wouldn't have switched…

        • @blehgg: how small are your hands? :P I've been operating my S8+ easily so far! Considering I play the occasional mobile game I went for the bigger one, not disappointed so far. Both phones are gorgeous though!
