Same from 18/5 and mentioned an hour ago by Scotty
Offer ends: Jun 5 '17 at 11:59 PM -04:00 (sorry not sure when AEST that is)
White also available (change colour from same page) Adding 2 to cart makes delivery ~ AUD$27
Also special Amazon Echo (Black) US$40 off https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1187819-REG/amazon_b0…
Both these "regular" prices consistent with Amazon.com, and I've never found a better Dot price (retail)
Sorry for late notice, I saw it hours ago but could not post, GL to those who missed out last time (like me!)

  • Damn thats the cheapest so far…must resist

    • I'm having trouble resisting, and I think it is useless. As linnaen says so eloquently " But gadget.."

  • Thanks…bought another two black Dots. Shipping was ~AU$27 though not $21

    • shipping is more expensive with two items

    • Oops, amended, thanks. Rushed to get posted, still seems active! :)

I want to buy it because gadget, but can't see me using it at all.

    • 99% of the time I use it in the kitchen when working for Pandora. "Alexa next song" "Alexa volume 9" "Alexa timer for oven….blah blah"

      It's good for that stuff!

Though with Apple releasing theirs. Hmmmmm might havta shift allegiance due to iTunes. It would be good to voice control my song list.

      • Can you tell me how you managed to get yours set up?
I got one on the last deal, but I can't get the required app installed on my phone (since I have an AU account) to get it set up.

There are a lot of guides on the net, but I think they rely on a technique that no longer works on iPhones.
I have some android tablets I've tried too but not had any success so far.

      • I'm way out of the Apple ecosystem - last (and only) Apple product I bought was a 3rd generation iPod, so no point looking at one of them.
I can't really set up lighting in my house for remote control without huge extra expense, so think as much as I want one, I can't see the need just yet.

I'm using a dot to control my Lifx lights - works fine, and I've never used the alexa app, just the website (see above).

        • @AdrianW:
I'd have to renovate the lighting in my whole house to make that worthwhile.

Isn't THE Apple version going to cost $350US!?

  • Nice one…got three.
Now I have to labour through setting them up for my family!

  • Damnit… Missed this again, but at least they seem to be dropping the price fairly regularly.

  • hmmm, shows "You Pay$63.25/Est. AUD $84.47" for me

    • Yep -expired. I paid A$74.03 using the paypal conversion but the price has jumped back up to US$49.99 from $39.99.

      • Yeh, 18 days is better than > 6 months (guesstimating how long I was waiting for last one I missed), I'm glad the expired tag was applied for me.
Thanks also to all those posting advice and tips on getting the echo dot working here!
Although "CAUTION: There has been at least one case of someone no longer being able to use their Echo after attempting to make this work." from ArianW's link above does concern me, I trust it was working at the time he used it (roughly when, AdrianW?)
        Cheers!

  • Tossing the idea to install this for theatre room but my family might gets annoyed when I say "volume up" multiple times…

    • You can just specifiy a volume level, eg 'Alexa, Volume 10' for top volume
