This was $49.00 at COTD (sold out) but is not a savings of $199.99.

  • Are these any good?

    • That's what I want to know also.

    • Just because it is Tefal, are these their good quality range or just cheap budget range? I assume the latter based on the price.

I've owned many different pans from the tefal range and found that their cheapo range from target (has fold in plastic handles) far outlasted their expensive range (polished stainless steel with heavy bases).

So just because this is cheap I wouldn't rule it out as being inferior in quality.

If I didn't already have a full set of pans I'd buy this.

    • Well, they are made in China, not France as other high end range

I actually got this exact set some years ago from a closing-down spotlight for $20 after bargaining him down from I think the original $60 sale price. Last one in stock and he didn't really care. Some of my best work :)

I don't have the pans anymore but they cop a real beating in my house. We're going back to 2009 so I got a good few years outta them. Probably can't go wrong for $60.

    • But is it worth more than $60?
      Or is $60 about right?

      • Yeah, I wouldn't pay more than $60 but if I needed all this stuff today I'd probably pay the $60. $12/item.

    • yes…true ozbargainer…but…what we are all waiting for is….is this set any good or not?

      • +2

I've got everything but the pans today. They eventually warped and got scratched up. I did get a good few years out of them though.

I'd consider $60 maybe little on the highish side but it depends on your needs. If you need something today then it's a pretty good deal. If you are in no rush I think you'll possibly find better deals in the future. It's not crap quality by any means, not jump outta my chair amazing either.

If I were a light user, living alone, I'd probably still have the pans today.

EDIT: On a side note a friend at the time also had a top of the range Tefal pan from years earlier, much thicker heavier duty and I think it cost him $200-300 just for a single pan but that thing is still going today and I've gone through a few in that time. I have a nice steel wok (I cook a lot of stir fries) that is about 15 years old still going like new. That cost over $100. So you get what you pay for, this $60 set is fine but most likely won't be a complete set in 5-10 years time, in fairness nor will any sets in this price range. Full opinion given as requested.

      • Glass lids suck.

I'm not in any hurry, my current set will do. BUT, if this is a killer deal for some high quality cookware, I'll jump.

    So… Is it?

    • Nope. My old housemate had these. They seem decent but they got dinged from being dropped pretty easily and the coating on the inside started to flake very early on, despite no one ever using anything other than the shitty plastic/rubber utensils you're supposed to use with them.

Get stainless steel. IKEA's stainless steel ones have been great for me, just don't buy the cheapest ones.

      • Thanks. Called them, they said couldn't do anything, it's with their warehouse. It could take up to 30 days before it's being fulfilled. Worst online order for something local, lol.
