    Amazon.de had the Moto Z for $406 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/309780

Yes but non Aus stock so not if they would honour warranty.

    • Do Motorola/Lenovo have international warranty, or only country of origin?

my understanding is that Amazon typically offers a year's worth of warranty on electronics.

This is from a rep from last year:

For items sold by or fulfilled by Amazon, our 30-day returns guarantee means
that you can return an item to us in its original condition within 30 days of
        the date you received it.

If the returned item is in its original packaging and condition, we'll issue a
full refund for the price that you paid for it. We will, however, also accept
the return of incorrect or defective merchandise which meets the guidelines below.

However, if your purchase is defective within a year, you may still be able to
return it for a replacement/refund as all electronic items purchased from
Amazon.co.uk come with a one year warranty from the manufacturer, unless
        otherwise stated.

I'd imagine amazon.de would be the same.

Amazon will reimburse the return shipping.

        • Thanks. Heard their warranty policy was pretty good, never had to use it yet lol.

Only down side might be extra time for post and repair in U.S. if needed. Then again, our snail mail is pretty slow here in Oz. and repairs not much quicker too lol.

@ozhunter68: try office works, I bought a item Friday 8pm, arrived 11am Monday. Thats who im going to use from now on.

        • @Slippery Fish:

Thanks, but I meant to send to US or Germany for warranty repairs.

        • Yes they will.

I bought a set of HID headlights from Amazon last year, one of the bulb was DOA, I bought another one and sent back the faulty one, and emailed them the receipt from Australia Post

Note that the Australian version is a dual sim + microSD card as well.

    • Yep, dual sim 3G/4G for both is a must for my next phone. Oh,….as well as B5 and B28 of course too. lol.

    • So are the overseas model. I bought it from HK and asking as the model number is right which is XT1635-02 you will get dual SIM and 4G/3G. Also got it in white when local model was in black only. That may have changed.
      Best phone…. EVA!

Lazy question, but can upgrade to Android 7 now on this model?

    • +1

The Australian stock Moto Z Play was updated a few months ago OTA to Android 7.0
The update to 7.1.1 is expected in a few weeks time.

    • Yes.

  • I didn't realise Moto have a "price refund" policy!

If the price of a Motorola Product or Service (excluding items on clearance, promotion or discount) is reduced on the Moto Store after you have purchased it from us, you may contact us to request for a refund of the difference in the amount paid and the reduced sum within seven (7) days of delivery of the Product or Service. For clarity, this is not a price match guarantee and we will not match the prices offered by other retailers for the same Product.

Still waiting for my G5 Plus to get into stock.

    • +1

Are you waiting for stock from the Motorola website? How much did you get it for? I am torn between either getting the G5 Plus or pay a bit extra for the Moto Z Play for the great battery life.

      • Yeah, still waiting for stock, Ingram Micro never had stock, even though it said they did on the website. Been a week and half and apparently stock was due yesterday, with dispatch tomorrow. Fingers crossed! They send it snail Aus Post. I asked for Express - SFA chance of that happening.

IM are the worst company to deal with, if I had realised, I probably would have got it from MobileCiti or another reseller. I assume they get their stock from IM, but IM are poo-poo.

I paid the the full $449.

  • Moto Z2 Play has been announced: https://ausdroid.net/2017/06/02/motorola-announces-moto-z2-p…

Probably that's why the price drop.

15% lesser battery capacity in the new one though but with better camera.

    • It's a backward step :( unfortunately

      • With a significantly increased price to boot.

        • As with every mobile phone released in the last 12-18mths.

    • What a shame. Glad i got the Z Play, battery life is awesome. Camera I don't care that much.

  • Does the AU stock has NFC? According to GSMArena it does but tech specs on Moto Australia Website do not mention it. Can anybody confirm please?

  • I can't seem to find any images of the flip cover that they're advertising?

  • This vs Moto G5 Plus ???
