If this thing was QHD I'd be all in :p

not sure why you were negged (gave you a + to balance it out).

I reckon this phone looks awesome (aesthetically), but it would be a step back in resolution for me, and that's not something I am willing to do. if it was QHD, I would definitely consider it, largely just because of the beautiful design (designed by Philippe Starck)!

    • +7

In my experience (GN4) I'd rather have the slightly worse resolution and better battery life. What's the appeal of QHD?

      • +3

Unless you use your phone for VR it's only a small increase in visual quality.

        • I have been using QHD since the LG G3 and I don't think I could go back now.

You put a QHD vs FHD side by side and then tell me it's only a small increase

          @britta: it's only a small increase

  • Band 28?

    • +1

      No

      • +2

Crazy price for phone e with no band 28

  • Good price although the ear speaker on phone is meant to be a bit poor. Can't hear well if there's background noise when on a call

Don't buy from this seller , I have to cancel my order last time during last sale . They don't have any stock and not update for two weeks . I mean someone do respond my email but just keep saying " Wait more , will let you know once we send it ".
Look the feedback before you place your order .

At end I got this phone from aliexpress for 760 , wait for 5 days . It is a good phone .

  • The phone is made of ceramic, one drop and poof! gone. Also note there is little room between the sides of the ceramic base and screen, that one drop will more than likely crack parts of the base off and produce a nice big crack down the screen.

Look at drop test reviews before buying.

    • Only an issue if you walk down the street head down using a phone and get bumped…..that's just stupidity and that can break any phone.

      • Not an iPhone with a military grade mithrel bumper cover

      • Well yes, you are right however any other phone not using ceramic will either get a dent/scratch or the glass on the rear and face will crack witch is replaceable in most cases. This phone will literally crack off pieces like dropping a ceramic tile.

  • Such a nice phone and in some ways still better than the S8+. But gonna pass since only another five months wait before the Note 8..

  • Very nice phone in pictures, but honestly cant say I like it in person.
From a few minutes play, i found the MIUI interface to be frustrating to use, and the screen res/camera did not really match aesthetics.
    Also… its a huuge phone.

This is definitely a go see/use in person before you buy.

Also if you buy this, make sure you also buy a case(as some dealers tend to remove it).
All it takes is a corner drop to make a nice crack across the screen (as the person found the hard way).

Why in hell would you spend this much $$$$ on a xiaomi phone?

Lesson learnt I'm hoping for your sake next time

      • Haha just to set things straight, I would never spend so much on a phone like that (heck I would never spend that much on any phone).
It was actually a relative's phone which I had the pleasure of playing with before they cracked it.

        • It was probably a pleasure because you didn't have enough time to play with before all the problems start happening.

I would spend $600 max on a phone but never a xiaomi

Serves you right. It's a Chinese phone, sold only in China OFFICIALLY. Well known that the software is horrible and often full of spyware when bought from a reseller.

      • +1

        Again, wasnt my phone.
I like to see things in person before I buy anyways.

And yes im sure we all heard of the spyware horror stories.
Also I hope you realise pretty much all smart digital devices nowadays have some form of spyware embedded.
I guess it just depends on who you want your information to go to.

      • That's why we root to get rid of spyware but besides that its not a phone the seems to be good IMO.

        Not very stable or reliable

        • I don't think they're much support on XDA i'm afraid.

        • @KLoNe:

There's plenty, only problem all the roms I tried on rn3 were full of bugs.

Same issues with official Rom maybe faulty phone, bought 2 and had same problems leading me to believe the phone is junk
