  • Does Windows support PS4 controller?

    • Sure does, Steam supports it natively, too.

  • cant buy any?

Dammit, paid $58 just yesterday at JB matching Target catalogue. $2.90 wasted, wasted

    • +12

Assuming the "matching" was done in store & you already have the controller now, this means you can use it straight away, if you bought this deal today, you'd likely get it next week or even the week after…

      TL;DR
you've invested $2.90 so you can spend ALL LONG WEEKEND GAMING!!

      A minutes silence for the $2.90 ….

Anyone know if this is V1 or V2? Been trying to work it out since Target only list 1 type of Dualshock (Most have a second listing as 'New Dualshock' or V2)

    • +3

V1. only the Camo is V2 and its going for $78

        Ahhh thanks :)

I went to Target yesterday to finally buy a second controller. Thinking they were all v1 I said to the employee what colour should I get because I didn't really care, he said go with camo. It did scan up as 78$ but I had the catalogue and it was listed in there so he overrode the price to $58. I didn't even realise it was a v2 until I saw the comparison and realised the lightbar meant I got a v2 controller.

      Whats the difference?

Edit: I googled it, and I decided I want the Wired function, which seems to be the main differene.

      • Bought this at full price as it was advertised by sony as having lower latency when wired. Tests have proven the v2 pad to be even higher than v1.

Going to email sony asking for a refund or proof.

I asked Target and they have confirmed at all the controllers on their website are V2, not sure about the ones on their eBay page, but I would think they would be the same.

  • Mono speakers? So this isn't the updated model I take it

  • Been thinking of getting a second controller for a while now. Grabbed a red one. Thanks OP

I'm keen on getting a wireless controller for playing PC games, how does this go compared to other controllers? Is their a preferred one most people go for?

    • +2

I use mine a bunch for Steam games and there's native support, some even have PS icons instead of the default Xbox ones. I'm not an expert however, you might be better off with an Xbone controller maybe?

  • Hi guys. Besides the wired function and additional slit of light through the touchpad, is there any other differences?
I'm just wondering if the sticks are the same( rubber on top and resistance).

    • I've got a V1 and V2 and they are nigh identical. I actually prefer the V1 light slot wise

Cheers OP! Just impulse bought 2

  • What multiplayer games are people playing on the PS4? Tempted to get one but I don't have any local multiplayer games in my library.

    • Injustice 2 or Tekken if you're a fighting game fan

    • Tekken is great with friends

    • Have you had Playstation Plus? Alienation, Guacamalee, Magicka 2 and Rocket League are all pretty decent couch (IMO)

Otherwise I don't think there are exclusives but Overcooked is great, I've heard good things about Salt and Sanctuary and my son and I enjoy Nom Nom Galaxy

    • Been having a blast playing split-screen WipEout: Omega Collection. Bargain at $39 from Target, too.

Just wondering if i could use this on PS3? Unable to find a cheap PS3 controller (Sony).

    • Nope. You can grab a second hand one from EB Games for $36-$38 at the moment and even second-hand goods have warranty

    • +2

      Technically yes, but not reliably.

The PS3 does support the Dualshock 4 controller by recognising it as a third-party controller, but there are limitations. Support varies from game-to-game (it won't work at all in some PS3 games, particularly older ones), and I believe neither the PS button nor the vibration function work.

I own both consoles and have successfully used a Dualshock 4 to play multiplayer on my PS3 with friends, but I definitely wouldn't advise using it as a primary controller, because it just isn't reliable.

      • It also needs to be plugged into the PS3 console

        • I didn't have to plug mine in, I was able to sync them via bluetooth.

  • Can't find these in their eBay store?!

  • The new wipeout is 2 player split screen

Thank you! Picked up a blue one.

  • Can anyone confirm if the controllers in store are v1 or V2? Other than the camo colour.

  • Link dead

  • Link won't work on mobile, works fine on PC.

  • Black is out of stock

Got a Red one at Hornsby Target store, 2-3 left red only. Didn't bother ordering it from ebay as you gotta wait, etc. Now I can continue my Uncharted 4 online experience with fresh new controller. :D

    Thanks OP.

    • Do you think it's version 1 or version 2. Thanks.

      • Just checked, V1.

        • Ok thanks.

        • +1

          @Jase2801:
Correction: it's actually V2. According to the other thread on BigW's $59 DS4.
I thought they said the front light bar is smaller, but all nearly identical except few small minor cosmetic changes.

The box should have white color at top & blue at bottom on front window display.

        • @Yummy: Even better. Cheers.

    Dam, missed out.
