    • If it's a new number they activate it when it leaves the warehouse, so you'll definitely still have time.

      • Unless your account requests ID. Provide it & should be able to activate online, before it arrives.

        Many Ozbargainers have previously provided ID when taking up Amaysim deals, so usually don't need to provide it.

    • Try it. You may find it offers 'next day delivery' option. I ordered 11:00pm and it arrives next day! Mine wasn't pre-activated even it was a new number. People have difference experience though.

      • That option is only available in certain places. Choose it where possible. But activation date does not rely on delivery date.

      To ensure a new number is preactivated, check your account. If it requests ID, provide it & activate online so it is activated asap. Delivery date of card then does not matter to qualify for CR.

      Buying a SIM to port later may be an issue activating by 30/6 if delivery & porting is slow.
      Plenty of time otherwise.

    • I don't really think there is anything to stop someone just going out and buying a @2 sim, using the "Replace a sim" menu to use the new card. Except for the fact you waste $2, but you can always ring them up and ask for that $2 credited to the account because you needed to use the service.

    The sim came preactivated in fact, thus I lost 12 days of the month.
    Also this purchase is still not showing on CashRewards' site, so I just lodged a claim which is pretty straightforward.
    Not so good a deal without the cashback.

    Waited a week then replied to the Amaysim email saying "It should be with you in the next 2-3 working days" but that was not enough info for them to track when the SIM might arrive.

    I'm glad that CR has helped to make an informed decision in regard to my perception about the level of service offered by most all telco-providers.

        • Resolved the problem with Amaysim online chat this morning.
          The SIM I was sent did not match the number I was allocated, did an online registration of the new SIM and good to go.
          They also credited my account a few $ for the 'days used up' during the extended delivery delay period, when I didn't actually have the SIM card yet.

        • Hi xxau. I'd probably put the SIM in a handset and test it to make 100% sure it's active. If it is, it's just a matter of time before Amaysim reports it to us as active and they approve the sale. Thanks.

          TA, On the cashrewards site when you click "Get Paid" it never told me which bank account my funds were going into? Not sure if this is standard practice but i had to go into my account settings to figure out which bank acc I put down a few years ago

          @Mattwilko: Hi Mattwilko. That's correct. When you select Get Paid, the funds are transferred into whatever bank account was last saved in your settings. Please note also that Paypal is coming soon to Cashrewards for added convenience :)

  • I bought the SIM before TA's 12:40pm comment re: activating before June 30. A bit annoyed! On June 30 I'll still have half a month of Kogan to go.

    I specified that I wanted to port my number. Does anybody know if I can get Amaysim to give me a new number instead, instead of porting my existing number, even though I've already selected to port an existing no?

    New here. Signed up only to find out I cannot preactivate immediately. I live in the country which will 100% push me out to delivery after ten days which means I can only activate after 30 Jun.

    Raised this with amaysim and they're telling me the terms are to BUY before 30/6 not to ACTIVATE before 30/6 for the 32 buck cash back and that it can be double confirmed with you. TA can you confirm? Very upset about this now :/

    • Hi mellowmello. Not sure which Amaysim rep gave you that info, but it's totally incorrect. The agreement between CR & Amaysim is that in order to receive the cashback, the SIM must be activated by 11:59pm on June 30. If you have a screenshot of the chat session you had with Amaysim, I'd love to see it. Thanks.

      Just clarify - why can't you activate at the moment. I think it worked for others.

      Delivery date of SIM should not be an issue, unless you decided to port your number which may cause delays.

      If you have previously provided ID, like many of us who previously had an account, the SIM arrives preactivated.

      Otherwise ID will be required (as shown in your account) - enter ID in your account & SIM arrives preactivated, ready to use. Ring Amaysim if there is any issue with ID.

      Your account will then show that SIM has been activated (best to log out, wait, log in again) - should now show number of days & data remaining. I did that successfully for a family member, even though first name was different between ID & account name. SIM arrived ready to use & CR paid out quickly :-)

          Hey! Let's just deal with facts, not suppositions. (Might be…)

          You haven't said what is showing on your account - Menu - Plan. That's what matters. Is it number of days & data remaining, or provide ID, or something else?

          I only know of 2 states showing on account (for those now porting number) - account activated showing number of days & data remaining, or asking for ID before activating SIM.

          What was in "Your Amaysim SIM is on it's way" email?

          Some suppositions since you have not given the facts that could help resolve the issue…
          My guess is you confused live chat by setting up plan then requesting to activate. They may have told you to wait until you receive SIM (to use it). Did you check your account first? Could you be worried over nothing?

          SIM basics:
          ID is generally required before SIM can be activated. (Not provided according to your response)

          SIM can't be activated before being allocated to you! (Have you received email that SIM has been sent?)

      No one can (pre)activate immediately!
      A SIM has to be allocated to your account first.
      You've got until Friday night to preactivate.

      Chatted to livechat and they confirmed i need a sim card to activate

      So, if you asked chat to activate SIM immediately - before it was allocated to you / sent, they would correctly say it can't be activated yet, as you do not have a SIM (allocated to your account). That is very different to not being able to activate until SIM card is received.

      So if no email had arrived to say SIM has been sent - none had been allocated to you yet & livechat were correct. You can't activate a SIM that had not been allocated to you yet!

      Also you say you have not provided ID necessary to activate. But you won't say if you've done the obvious first step & check your account! The sooner you provide ID, the sooner the SIM can be activated.

      It's not as if this hasn't already been discussed.

      Very upset about this now :/

      • Hey infidel, I was on the road the past few hours. I wasn't hiding :P I can't help but feel you are getting abit personal, then again you'll probably say I'm jumping to conclusions! I was hoping it would be more welcoming than this!

        Anyhow, I did receive the email about the SIM being on my way, and checked through every single tab on my account. Agree though that I might have been too worried for nothing, I'll just wait it out and see how it goes. Worst case it's 10 bucks, though it would suck to not get the cashback!

        • Should be no issue with activation & CR.

          Now card has been sent, your account should show if SIM is activated or if ID is required - as I outlined way up above ;-)

          For new account it should open at that PLAN page, but will be different for different browsers, computer vs mobile, etc.

          Was trying to find solution asap to ease load for TA who has been great for us with these deals. Your problem seemed unusual, so took me a while to realise it may just be a bit of anxiety & wanting things to move faster than possible in the Amaysim universe.

          Jumping to conclusions like people taking up this deal now may not be able to activate & collect $32 when they pass GO… well it scares people unnecessarily. The longer your claims remain unchallenged, the more anxiety it creates. That takes a lot to settle down & people post about it again next deal… because they read it here.

          You need to wait for the 2nd email which confirms your order has been processed. That's when your sim card is shipped and activated.
          You can also go buy a $2 sim from the shop and use that to activate.

          Payment by Credit Card may be adequate for ID. I purchased for family member on my CC, & ID was required, but not for me. I had wondered same thing near start of this confusing deal.

          reading the previous comments, it would be safe to say i will only receive the sim after 30th June. Wondering how I can provide id to activate the sim now like some others that have done it?

          Would providing id when the sim is already on its way, activate it or would it have to be activated before it ships or after its delivery?

          Don't worry - it's a bit confusing & complex deal. Even TA has jokingly had a go at me for my earlier unwarranted concerns ;-)

          SIM should be sent preactivated - which means CR will give you the money asap.

          Check your Amaysim account - if it shows the number of days left to use your SIM, it's activated. Otherwise will ask there for ID, but payment by Credit Card in your name seems all that is needed for ID. Providing ID if requested will activate SIM in transit - I've done that.

          Check for the CR tracking email or check your CashRewards account to see that the Cashback is Pending.

          Should all be good. Sit back & wait for the SIM & the money 💰💰💰

  • Ok, I bought a Kogan SIM thinking I can activate this deal any time, which is true but now realised the CR won't apply if I activate it after June 30..whats the best way to go about it OZ bargainers? I'm thinking maybe activate this deal first then switch to Kogan then stay on the Kogan 1GB for 1 year plan @ ~$11/month. I'm assuming this deal is $9.90 consecutive months?

    • This deal from Jeenee at 14.90 per month works out cheaper per GB than Kogan and you don't have to pay a year upfront. Just pay month to month. No contract.

    • With some of the deals for new customers that I've seen, the savings each month would be worth more than $20. So I would rather not take this bait and remain a new customer for when the sweet deals are offered.

      Well this deal is giving you free money, the other is giving you a lot of data and calls for very little money. I've got a Vodafone SIM that gives me 12GB monthly and lots of calls so I don't need 6 mite from amaysim, I'd rather have the free money.

  • A question to those who had to activate their account in the Amaysim account portal - how long did it take for activation to complete? i.e. time from submitting ID to having a working SIM.

      For those concerned about ID requirements & activation

      For most, no ID was required & SIM was sent preactivated. Payment by Credit Card in your name seems all that is needed for ID

      Wait for account to be set up & for SIM to be sent (you receive the email), then…

      Check your Amaysim account - if it shows the number of days left to use your SIM, it's activated.

      Otherwise will ask there for ID. Providing ID if requested will activate SIM even in transit - I've done that. Activated within minutes of providing ID.

      I provided a different first name for account (set up for family member using middle name) to that on ID & still went straight through.

      It still will be associated with your account, so is unlikely to reset the countdown on days left to use it (if preactivated). Amaysim seem only to add pretty useless credit to your account if you complain. (I've tried this in the past.)

      You could have bought a $2 Amaysim SIM (where available) & set up as a replacement SIM in your account. That was recommended very early in this deal as a way to avoid waiting. Again first contact Amaysim if you want their generous $2 credit.

      Waiting 18 days for a delivery promised in 2-5 business days is too long. Took 10 or more days for some of us.

      Hope you didn't want to port by 30/6!
      Otherwise, that your account shows it's already activated & CR has already paid out!

    Once your SIM arrives, you'll need to log into My amaysim and enter the SIM ICCID number to complete your activation You'll also be able to start the number transfer process if you're bringing your existing mobile number to amaysim.

  • Am I the only one having issues activating? Seems it activates too early for most people!

    I have received the sim, and despite the sticker saying it's activated and ready to go, if you try call any number, you get a recorded message that it's not activated. Have been trying to activate it for the last few days but it's just not working, upon entering sim serial and logging in, I land on the "Plan" page but the main part of the page is blank.

    I have an online chat conversations confirming that they have requested activation now and it will be ready in 1-4 hours. But it's still getting the not activated recording. The latest conversation says that they had an error activating and that they "escalated the case to our higher level of support and time frame is within 5 business days". But I have received no confirmation at all. I have also tried their web form (they call it email us) but no response or even acknowledgement either.

    The chat agent is more keen to ask me to agree they have been able to resolve my issue, presumably not to give them negative rating. I have this suspicion 5 business days will come and go and nothing will happen!

    So what happens now, I have paid but through no fault of my own, the service cannot be activated by 30 June?

      Hey there. Please keep a record of your chats. I'm assuming your $32 is pending in CR? If you find your balance doesn't change to approved, please contact our CS team via Contact Us form and they'll take care of it. No reason you should miss out if they can't activate the SIM for you. Any issues, you know where I am :)

      • Hi TA, I initiated the activation of my sim card and transfer of number yesterday morning (29/6/2017). But it has not been completed yet until now. It was initially told the porting processing will only take 1-4 hours but it has been two days now. I had spoken to the Live Chat customer service people and also called them over the phone and has been told the same thing again and again that they have escalated the issue to their team.

        Just wondering would I still be eligible for the Cashreward credit if they fail to acticate/transfer my number by tonight (30/6/2017)? Thank you

        • No issues at all. As long as you've followed the guidelines, keep all your records and if you're CR cashback doesn't change to approved within 15 days, open a ticket via Contact Us and the CS team will take care of it for you. Relax, and enjoy the weekend :)

    • Log into your account on the amaysim website. It will say if you are already activated. If not, you'll need to provide some ID, then submit, and in a matter of minutes you should be activated.

        • that's what their rep told me. They'll credit you the $2 for buying the sim.

          If you plan has been activated, just look for the menu 'Replace SIM' and put in your $2 SIM number. It will change over to your new SIM and email you when it is done. Took less than half an hour for me.

  • I am having the exact issue as tim_geo. My "Plan" page is also blank and even though I put the 13 digit sim number and click "Activate" it takes me to the blank "Plan" page. I purchased the sim on 11 June and the $32 is still showing as pending on my Cashrewards account. It's too late now to contact Amaysim but I will try tomorrow and see if they can rectify it. Did not check until today because I assumed it was all sorted out!

    Edit: Had given my ID details when I purchased the sim, checked the SIM card out in phone and confirmed still inactive.

    • I would online chat with them ASAP and get them to agree it's a technical issue on their side, and hit the button that emails you a copy of the chat. FYI mine is still not activated…

      • just spoke to them and got the same response as you did, "error in the activation" and she will escalate it to be fixed but could take 5 working days. ill send the transcript of the chat to my email so i have a copy. did you find out if we would still get our cashback should the services not be activated by 2359 tonight?

        • See TA's reply above under my comment, I believe Cashrewards will pay the cashback if you have evidence that you requested activation by 30/6, it's their problem that they are unable to provision in time, your cashback would be manually approved with your evidence. (Presumably it becomes a commercial issue between Cashrewards and Amaysim to sort out between them.)

          Mine was eventually activated afternoon of 30/6 so 2 business day turnaround, it looks like I won't need to go through the manual process. Hopefully by figuring out mine they will be quicker for yours.
