Tapas with a Jug of Sangria at Lot Forty (Sydney)

20

From page:

Dine on the chef’s delicious tasting plate plus your choice of any two tapas from the menu AND receive a jug of sangria for just $25. Value $60.

My take:

Well… lot forty is one of those new small bars I've wanted to go to… they had other deals which involved more than half price cocktails before, maybe someone who got them can comment? I think it's a good deal if it will feed two people, you would hope with 60$ value it would… but then again sangria is overpriced.

Oh yes, brought to you without referral links ;)

We might have to re-think about these sort of posting…
These offers will be offered every day in every city from at least 5-6 websites
There is no point of publishing each of them if we can buddle good deals in one thread

If some one got access to OZBARGAIN, they can also visit just one website and check all of these daily deals. The site is allthedeals.com.au

So I cannot see a point of spamming OZBARGAIN with each and every deals posted in Ouffer, Scoopon, Spreets, JumpOnIt etc etc etc.

    • I agree with you. All the good deals should be bundled in one thread. I don't see how we can do this with current rules about duplication of posts though. After all, you can't go and edit someone else's post. Also, last I checked allthedeals misses out on the side deals of each site.

My objection is more to people posting crap deals just to get referral credits.

      • Hi Quickling. Thanks for the feedback. We are in the process of adding side deals to the site. Should have them up by the weekend.

    • Bappy - points well taken, and understood, but wrong place to post this concern - go to the forums open a new thread in the announcements section

      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/forum/5

or an existing one like here

      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/31038

However in the meantime it's not a valid reason for a negative vote

  • great deal for $25… $60
nice for 2 - 3 people to try it out

I was so disappointed with the last LotForty deal from one of these group buying sites that i won't ever go there again. It was buy a $6 voucher (valued $22) and get a cocktail and tapas tasting plate. It was just a scheme to get you into the restaurant to eat. I mean go figure, i should have been more cynical but other group buying deals have been so good, you get a great bargain and no obligations.

Well, let's say the ahem "tasting plate" was actually just one piece of tiny food. e.g one hors d'oeuvres - literally it was akin to giving someone a biscuit with a bit of pate on it. I don't know how calculated the biscuit to be $7 but somehow that was it's worth (as the cocktails are mostly $15 rrp). It's also the kind of place where they literally have seating for about 4 groups and that's it, so it's not like you can pop in to have a casual drink and leave. The vibe of the place is pressure to eat. The moral of my story is just be wary of these deals, especially when coming from LotForty. They can definitely be misleading.

    • Good to hear a report, thanks.

  • The Nina (ho) The Pinta (ho) the Santa (ho) Maria,
I'll do you in the bottom while your drinking sangria.
