Sony 55" X9000E - New 2017 Model - HDR TV $2399 + $55 Postage with Code (Was $2999) @ Myer

130
ANNIVERSARY20

This is the cheapest I could find on this promising sounding new FALD HDR TV from Sony. I tried to purchase with "click and collect" to keep the price at $2399 but there were no Victorian stores allowing said collection.

Add anniversary20 for $20 off.

Save $20 for every $100 spent on TVs, Audio, Cameras and selected Headphones. Purchased in one transaction. Exclusions apply. Cannot be used with other offers. Ends 11:59pm AEDT 12/06/2017, unless sold out or otherwise stated.

Are tv manufacturers just re-releasing the same thing over and over but with a different model number just to keep the prices high and as if they're revolutionizing something?

Hadn't that x1 processor crap been the same thing since 2015?

I'm sure some are yes but this year's sony tvs seems like a real step up after a bad year last year.

      Some recent reviews:
      http://www.techradar.com/reviews/sony-bravia-xbr-55x900e
      http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/sony/x900e

      • So they are tweaking soft settings every year! Even better.

    • This model has got good reviews, it definitely appears to be one of the best before going OLED. LGs 2017 equivalent has IPS panels which are horrible at even a slight angle. And the Sony TVs are noticeably better at upscaling. Other brands tend to soften the image too much.

Hmm considering the OLED for $800 more…
But this is also a great price.
    Thanks

  • I heard local dimming on this tv is almost comparable to oled.

  • It's a shame the discount doesn't stack against this OLED as it's already discounted and has a $300 myer gift card.

  • Thanks for the first post OP.

Doesn't it suck where we have a community so policed by pedantic trolls with nothing better to do that gets users worried they will get flamed when they first post a deal that they don't follow each rule perfectly and to the letter?
Doesn't this discourage people posting good deals?

Last time I went to Myer they seemed to have a collection of 19 year old LCDs and Plasma's coated in dust with yellowing faded price tags.

Did you buy one? I'm after a good deal on a plasma.

    Hi Birdman,

    Thank you !
I saw your post about the Sony 55inch XBR 9000e tv, So I went out an brought one.
Web page had that problem like you said, that no TV available.
So I went to a local Myre store here in Brisbane and got the Sales guy to
    process it all for me.
Myers got it delivered to the store where I picked it up 2 days later !

So purchased latest model TV for $2399 !
It is great. I cannot fault it. I have been doing lots of reading and researching on Internet for last 6 months for a new TV.
Some reviews say the sound is not so good on lots of TV's, and you need a sound bar etc!
I think it is fine. No problem there.
All in all….I think tv is 10/10 all round.

    cheers
