          Follow the "How to Redeem" instructions on https://www.groupon.com.au/deals/amaysim-australia before 7th July.
          Select to use your own number and Amaysim will send out the sim in the post and you then have 30 days to activate and port.
          Your current number will still work until you activate and port.

        • @bongom: Important thing to note. You do not actually have 30 days to port because the promo code applies at time of activation, not at time of port.

          For example, if you were to purchase it today, the promo will expire on 3 Dec 2017.
          If activated today, your last promo renewal will be on 25 Nov 2017.
          However, if you activate 2 weeks later, it would be 9 Dec 2017, which would be pass than 3 Dec renewal date.

          TL;DR, you only have 7 days from time of applying voucher to activate the sim.
          Or you could always try contacting them to get this fixed.

          I entered the promo code yesterday 6th July and are now waiting for the sim card to be delivered.
          I have not activated nor started the port process which I plan to do at the end of July.
          So 2 more separate steps before I expect the 6 months promo to commence?
          I will be contacting them if this is not the case, not the first time I have had to have an account problem fixed.

        • @bongom: Yes, the manage plan option is only available after you port. The issue is, the promo code is applied as of yesterday. So, you will get 6 renewals provided that you activate within 7 days of yesterday.
          If you read the comments below, I am not the only one who realised that.

    • Voucher on Groupon states that must redeem by 23/6 meaning you have to order your amaysim by that date, how long Before you have to initiate the port is unknown really, maybe live chat will clarify that?

      It will vary on providers. Not sure of the details of this deal though but it shouldn't be more than an hour, typically 15mins if you call them to do it.

          Nope it is the company you port to that has the power. Porting to voda is a royal pain in the backside but away from them depends on amaysim. I have only had problems porting to voda never away.

          I haven't purchased the deal yet but the delivery times are concerning….last time i bought an amaysim deal though i am fairly sure it doesn't actually activate until you get the sim and then start the actual porting process.

          The fun will be if she wants to go back though :P that cannot be done efficiently online and will require a phone call

    • You can port only after you receive the SIM so how does '2-5 days' matter? I don't understand your question.

      • Instructions on the link say part of purchase process is to choose a number or nominate an existing number to port. I asumed it was necessary, thanks for clarifying.

          The copy is so confusing on Groupon page - not your fault at all. So, when you place an order on Amaysim website by creating an account and using Groupon voucher, you need to declare if you want a new number or porting an existing number to Amaysim.

          If you are going to port your current number, you will be asked to fill out your existing number, the name of your existing carrier and your account number (if it's postpaid currently) that appears on your bill. However, actual porting of number can obviously be done only when you've received SIM and you are ready to switch. Best to do it just before your existing billing cycle ends so that you don't waste any time there and don't get charged for the full cycle by your current carrier for using their service only for a few days into the cycle.

    Does anyone know the deadline for SIM activation? SIM ordering deadline (i.e. redeeming Groupon voucher) is 23rd June but deadline for SIM activation is as important and it's not mentioned anywhere. I hope it's long enough to plan a switch/ porting.

    As per maolin95 if this does not need to be activated this month, you could theoretically do 1 month $32 cashback sim, port out and port back with this deal - net (9.90 -32 +29.90) $7.80 total cost for 7 months???! That would be so epic!

    • Theoretically when you buy the $32 cashback sim, you are an Amaysim customer. The only way you would be eligible for this deal is to port out and port back to redeem the voucher you bought via this deal by 23 June. Really it's slightly over 6mths. Nevertheless it's still a great deal.

      • Groupon voucher can be redeemed to order SIM on Amaysim website even before one is ready to activate SIM anyway but if you don't choose retention option for the number while placing an order then the SIM will be sent of some random number and I am not sure if you can later choose to retain your old number though once you received the sim.

  • OP, the first line in description should changed to "so this deal is $24.90 x 6 = $29.90". The normal price of the plan is $24.90 as you can see on Amaysim website.

  • bought one & redeemed the voucher straight away & porting my old number to Amaysim. just wait for the sim to be sent out.
    I have logged in my account to see what the plan is. It required to verify my ID as "Your SIM cannot be activated until you verify ID".

    How can they charge for excess data if the plan is prepaid? Is it prepaid? Am I missing something?

    • I dont think this is really prepaid. They have credit card details so they charge you if you go above. That's a shame, as I would like to get for my daughter,however I know she would go way above the limit. Lebara and Kogan if you go above just stop the internet, but not amaysim

        I was told by livechat that once the 1.5GB is used the internet stops so you shouldn't be charged for excess data. I too am buying this for my daughter and was concerned that she would go over and I would have to pay hundreds of dollars…:)

        This happened to me several times, I quit and made sure no adblockers were on and tried again, this time it worked.
        If it doesn't work after a few minutes just quit and try again.

      • So I just did a live chat with Amaysim. Agent reckons if I bring in a new number I should be ok with the promo. So, if you already have an account with Amaysim, you will need to get new service/number or port in from other provider on top of the existing Amaysim service/number.
        Clear as mud?

          Didnt risk it. Signed up using two different email addresses.
          TA has mentioned this condition quite a lot so didn't want any dramas to chase up later on.
          Got CR tracking for both and Amaysim accepted orders for both.
          Edit: Plus I ordered through the other deal as this one was 'sold out' last night when I ordered.

  • OK so I just found out some interesting facts after asking Amaysim support some questions.
    You must redeem this offer by 23/6/17 but if you don't port an existing number over, you get the SIM in the mail 3-5 working days later. You can activate up to 30days after redemption AND - this is interesting, they allow you to deselect the auto-renew function meaning you can go onto PAYG similar to Aldimoble, a feature I find very useful. Just thought a few of you may benefit from this info.

    Basically you can only choose one or the other as if you are an existing customer you won't be able to transfer the deal after 1 month from the other deal
    The other deal is slightly better if you might have a chance of not wanting to continue after 1 month and still get $32 cash back

      I bought the voucher on 12/06, requested port on 13/06, got SIM on 15/06, no T&C with letter so had same question.

      Went onto their chat, told them took up 6 x 28 days for $29.90 offer, they told me i can port anytime but the deal expires on 09/11/17, stating that renewal for the voucher will stop on this date

      Checking a website that counts days between dates count back looks like its the same day the voucher expires on ie. 23/06/17

      6 x 28 = 168 minus 28 (last day for renewal) = 140
      140 days from 09/11/17 is 23/06/17

      What they said makes sense but can i suggest to login to your account and start a chat session, act dumb and see if their answer is the same (i chatted to an Anne G but forgot their agent number). Would like to confirm what they told me as seen other comments that state otherwise

    I redeemed the voucher on the night of the 13th, and selected Next Day Delivery. Still nothing in the mail.

  • I bought this last Friday 09 June & received the sim today. I ported my number to Amaysim when I signed up. but the sim still not active after i verified my ID. I log in Amaysim account. I don't see anything i.e how many days I got left other than my plan unlimited 1.5Gb. I don't know how long i need to wait for using my sim and how can i check my usage.

    • When did you activate the sim? It may only be active on the next business day if it was activated after business hours. In the meantime you can still use your old SIM card. When the old SIM card becomes inactive then the porting should be complete.

  • Hi, I have successfully ported in my existing number to Amaysim, everything is now on track. just have a question that my auto renew is currently off. would this affect my plan as I have 6x28days plan, that means i have 6 months to use of plan. will it automatically renew every month till 6 months? or I need to switch my auto renew ON? thanks

  • Pretty bad experience with Amaysim. Signed up with the coupon, but the account didnt get setup properly, login to the account gives error. I have spent numerous hours with Amaysim customer support but they are unable to fix my account, on top of that they activated my new sim, which i have not yet received and ported the number, so I have lost my current service too! Each time chatting with a new agent and they say they will escalate it.

    I read somewhere that you need to give Live Connected 30 days notice before porting out, otherwise they will charge you for an additional month? Is that still true? Is that the same for Vaya?

  • so i used this groupon back on 20/06, and only just continued with the number transfer today, and when I log into amaysim account and the "manage sim", it says "promotion - free unlimited 1.5gb valid to: 17 Nov 2017".

    did i get a dud or am i not seeing something correctly in the t&c?

    • Mine (CR deal not Groupon) is even worse. Activated 30/06 and plan says valid to 16/11. Certainly not 168 (6x28) days. Will have to do a chat I guess :/

      • got mine sorted through chat. they added $24.90 credit onto account to extend it to the full 168 days.

        • chatted with them today.. they said my 16/11 date is the date of the last (6th renewal), so in fact it will be the full 168 days ending on 15/12. makes sense. i think you got one extra lot of 28 days lol!

          hmm if you activated/ported your number on the 30/06, I think the 16/11 may be one day before your last renewal… I may be wrong, but your 6 renewals would be: 30/06, 28/07, 22/09, 20/10, 17/11

          that is renewal ever 28 days…

          my 6 renewals is 04/07, 1/08, 29/08, 26/09, 24/10, 21/11

          so my promotion ended 17/11, making me miss out on one renewal, so they added the credit on so that it auto renews on the 21/11, giving me the 6 renewals, which is correct.

          finally resolved, they added another $5 to my account (well actually $10 for the inconvenience) which means the last renewal on the 17th will be just $9.90 ($4.90 net).

          If they credited your account $24.90 then you luckily get the last (6th) renewal for free :)

    IMPORTANT FOR EVERYONE
    If you activated your sim-card MORE THAN 7 DAYS after requesting for your sim-card / typing your promo code,
    your promo will expire before your final renewal. You need to contact Amaysim to get it fixed.

    If you are bad at maths, and want to figure out if this affects you, do the following:
    1) Log into your amaysim account and click "Manage Plans".
    2) In the header you should see "Valid to: XXXXXX" and in the description you should see "Renew XXXXX". Note the 2 dates.
    3) Add 16 weeks (112 days) to your "RENEW" date. (Using a calendar, go down 16 weeks).
    4) This date should be a few days before or after your "VALID TO" date.

    If it is after the "VALID TO" date, please call amaysim to get it fixed.

    • is it possible to force a renew a day or two before you're supposed to renew? or does it have to be on that date?

      • I am not sure as to the impact of doing this, but a possible solution is to:
        on the last day, switch from 1.5GB plan to PAYG
        then switch back from PAYG to 1.5GB plan
