  • You have the jigsaw and impact drill product codes around the wrong way.

    • +1

:O) As long as you don't try drilling with the jigsaw lol

      • Must be great working in a tool shop, I love tools.

Do you ever get women asking you about power tools?

        • +6

I'm worried where this is going but yes men and women shop here for all hardware products

        • @Citym10:
          Lol, well handled.

$20/hr parking in CDB kills click and collect on this deal…. If I pay in advance can someone bring the stuff to the curbside? Ill slow down to 5kph with the window open….

    • +2

Where do you live? yes we can help you. There is also a lane way out the back (no parking really but can pop in and out)

Its not a fault of the deal if the mode of transportation that you use involves additional fee's. If for example, you lived within walking distance, caught a bus/train, or rode a bike, then you would not have any problems.

      • Sorry facepalm54, Who's blaming anyone? ….. The vendor has already given a good option, hence my post was worthwhile….Ps Im not going to ride a bike

  • I'm still waiting on my Bosch Blue from this scammy deal:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/307020

    • That's odd. I'm not sure what you mean by scammy. I bought one of those off that (awesome) deal and it arrived within a week.

Edit: Just checked and it looks like that deal sold out really quickly, and the situation wasn't handled as well as it could have been by the seller. I can understand your frustration.

    • A few people have reported receiving theirs.

Do you buy one or put in an expression of interest?

      • -1

Bought, paid for, all before the cut-off. Received an email saying 'so sorry, do you want a credit or refund'. I said I just wanted the drill I had bought and paid for. Still waiting.

        • +2

They gave you 2 options, you chose a 3rd that doesn't exist, yet expect that the drill will still magically rock up - just like rubbing your hand on a lantern expecting a Genie to appear.

        • @faceman54: No, I'm expecting a vendor to comply with their obligations under a complete contract.
In other words, I am rejecting their attempted repudiation and electing to affirm the agreement.

        • +1

@blaircam: Erm… if they've run out, then how exactly do you expect them to comply ?
There's no drill to send you.

        • @Nom: Yeah, there are no more Bosch drills anywhere. Bosch has stopped making them altogether.
          Oh wait: https://sydneytools.com.au/bosch-gsb-20-2-re-kc-800w-keyed-c…

Turns out they are available after all.

        • @blaircam:

Good on you for knowing your rights under a contract and exercising them. If more people did that, a lot of stores, including "favourites" HN, Good Guys etc. would stop their shady business practices which are especially prevalent during their sales.

Might wish to clarify that the deal you're referring to was from a different seller.

      • Absolutely no suggestion it was from this seller.
If anyone had that impression I unreservedly apologise.

Sorry to hear - Wont get that from City Mitre 10

      • How is the quality of the drill? Is that sufficiently good to do an average amount of jobs around the house for three or four years?

        • Good quality home use drill, Big enough motor (500w) to do up to 25mm wood and 10mm masonry holes. So covers most household uses. Its high end on the household quality spectrum. And lastly Bosch usually look after their customers.

        • @Citym10:

What about normal size metal awnings? Strong enough to drill hols into those with the right drill of course?

        • @Lysander: Metal awnings are made from sheet metal so i don't see any problems with the right drill bit.

          Darrin

        • @Citym10:

OK. Great. Thank you for your responses. Very much appreciated.
One last question: if you are Mitre 10, is this available nationwide? A bit confused about your avatar and the website.

        • @Lysander: Most stores are owned by individuals and not Mitre 10, so each in store special is only that store. Saying that most of the guys will try and help you out at other stores just ask. (If they can)

        • @Citym10:

IF I buy it can I arrange for it to be picked up by a courier?

        • @Lysander: Sure that's no problem.
