      Works great just for the data

      bought 3 myself

        Yeah but you can't port out and port in with the kogan free sims. Good for data, but you'll need to port every month if you want to keep the number.

        Any compact, cheap 4G pocket wifi that can actually be carried around in a pocket? I'm often out without a bag so most 'pocket' wifi options are too large for me. Another solution is to get a dual sim phone I guess.

        Dual sim phone is definitely the way to go.

        This will let you leave your permanent number on a cheap PAYG plan and you can get a new number each month for calls/data.

      Is it easy to port out from Kogan? Just provide phone number to new carrier? any porting out fee?

  Does anyone know how this would work with porting your old number from a different network?

  In the past, I've received the new SIM card first and then registered it and given the number to port. Vaya requires you to give the number to port when registering with the voucher, and only then send out the simcard by regular post (unless you pay extra for express).

  Does this mean I could potentially be without ANY phone service until my new simcard arrives?

    Vaya won't port your number until you activate it yourself after receiving your sim.
