I'm sorry but he is right there is no 8GB 3rd generation touch.
Before buying mine I did a lot of research and the third just comes with 32 and 64 versions. Considering the postage cost it's not a big deal
@sim36 its actually the same 2nd gen 8gb resold again in 2009 (along with the 3rd gen 16gb and 32gb). Only difference came with jailbreaking at the time, as they were 'MC version'. No difference in hardware at all while 3rd gen 16gb and 32gb did have changes.
this one wont run ios4 very well. its called 3rd gen. uses 2nd gen hardware. which is basically 1st gen hardware.
basically, dont buy unless you want 1st gen hardware when the 4th gen is out for only $100 more.
edit: i have a 1st gen touch. its running ios 3. and its already stuttery. good luck using ios 4 on this 2g.
I have one and it sure is known as the Ipod Touch 8gb 3rd gen even though the box wont say it. i think the difference is that u can use Voice control.. dont know if that the hardware or the software that supports it. Plus there is a processor upgrade on the 32gb and the 64gb.
U can also upgrade it to ios 4 .. works perfect !!yeah there is a processor upgrade on 32/64. basically the "3g" 8gb is the same as the 2g 8gb.
however you're right the voice control is a difference.
as for ios4 on 2g hardware, it'll work like ios3 on my 1G. a bit choppy.
