Had to mark price as $427.50 because that is the advertised price to avoid confusion, if you want to list the price here as $399 then change the eBay listing to $420.
Just noting you can buy the new ipad (2017 model) 32gb for $448 at HN - the new model has not been out too long so may see further price pressure on the ipad air 2. Apparently slightly brighter but non laminated screen, does have more powerful processor.. slightly thicker.. otherwise similar.
If you crack the glass on a laminated screen will it do more damage than if you dropped a non-laminated screen?
I believe the laminated screens are more expensive to repair as its a single bonded unit - Apple lists the out of warranty service fee as $368.95 for the new ipad vs $448.95 which could reflect this https://support.apple.com/en-au/ipad/repair/service/pricing.
With a bit more hunting some more specifics on differences:
Thickness - Air 2 - 6.1mm vs ipad 2017 - 7.5mm
Weight - Air 2 - 437g vs ipad 2017 469
Processor Air 2 - A8X vs ipad 2017 A9
The ipad 2 air screen also had an anti-reflective coating not on the new ipad.

I tested a work iPad Air 2 and then got myself an iPad Pro for $500 and could tell the difference. Could be just because I work in Tech so noticed the difference.

These things sure hold their value. I think I bought a 64GB Wifi model in 2015 for $588.
$619 for 128GB wifi only not long ago either. but $400 for 32GB is not bad if you only need 32GB.
