And here I was thinking that society had come far and ceased segregation

  • @SimplySheds

EDIT: Damn, I swear I saw a post about being able to tag users now!

    • I think you will find these prices are way cheaper at GardenShed.com
      Please go and compare there…

    Hi rep,
Can you please compare the quality of the sheet metal you use (0.35mm sheets) with genuine ColorBond sheets?
    Thanks

    • These are genuine Colorbond. Colorbond is backed by Bluescope steel. So they use the Bluescope steel for the colorbond sheets.
Some imported sheds are only 0.3mm or less and noticeably flimsy.

Hope that help make sense of it all ;)

      • You should add this to your post.

        • Thanks for the suggestion. I just added it to the notes above. cheers

      • These are genuine Colorbond

Do you mean they are genuine ColorBond steel stamped with the "COLORBOND Steel" trademark or generic sheet metal painted with genuine ColorBond colours? Thanks

        • I think the best way to clear this is:
These are Bluescope Steel & Colorbond Colours. The process is the same as the other Australian manufacturers who produce there steel in Australia. So Absco, Spanbilt & EasyShed all use this process for their Australian range of sheds. But like all the brands I just mentioned, there is no trademark 'stamp' on any of the sheets.
Note: Colorbond is owned by Bluescope steel. So they are one and the same. So the sheets arrive with the Colorbond already applied to the steel from Bluescope/Colorbond.

        • @bickfofj:
          Thanks for trying to explain.

These are Bluescope Steel & Colorbond Colours.

So what is the difference between this product, that everyone uses, and genuine "stamped" Colorbond?

        • @stuckster: The price ;)

        • @bickfofj:
So you're just paying for the brand? Is there any physical difference between the two products or how they are manufactured?

        • @stuckster: To my knowledge no. The sheets come from Bluescope/Colorbond. So unless they were creating a different steel for manufacturing clients then there should be no difference. Have a look at their website to show they are one and the same in the first sentence of the Privacy Statement - http://colorbond.com/privacy

        • @bickfofj:
Thanks for the link. I just called Bluescope to try and clarify the situation. They said they really only make two products for the residential market - COLORBOND® and Zincalume® and in any case ALL of their products are stamped with the product brand. They said if it doesn't have a trademark stamp on it then they didn't make it.

Can you comment on this? All seems a bit confusing for the end consumer.

        • @stuckster:
The difference probably lies in the way Bluescope define a customer… From Bluescope's perspective, the panels for these sheds are not made for the residential market… they're made for a shed company who then onsell to the residential market.

        • @stuckster: I will say that there is a big sticker along the roof beam that you need to peel off that has the Colorbond TM on it. But it is not stamped into the metal. It is almost like a Staticly held sticker. It both protects the beam from scratches and shows the brand.

        • @bickfofj: Also, the trademark logo is on the packaging. And yes, we have both their products - the Zincalume and Colorbond for our sheds.

  • any 4.5x3m one? :(

    • We still have great prices on other brands and models. It is just that these are particularly huge bargains.
Have a look at the Workshop sheds:
      http://gardenshed.com/sheds/sheds/garden-sheds/model/worksho…
      We do have a 4.5 x 3 there.

      • yeah still rather expensive tbh, was hoping there was one in your bargain list since you had the 6m one in there.

  • Any depots in WA?

    • +1

But in Perth, the common one is at Hazelmere:

Broome 31 McDaniel Road, Broome, WA 6725
Bunbury 17 Foord Way, Bunbury, WA 6230
Carnarvon 424 North River Road, Carnarvon, WA 6701
Esperence 57 Norseman Road, Esperance, WA 6450

Newman Lot 1583 Woodstock Street, Newman, WA 6753
Port Hedland – Wedgefield Lot 2521 Miller Street, Wedgefield, WA 6721

  • How hard are these to assemble?
I am looking at the 3x1.5m model

Also, what do you think of using pavers instead of concrete? Or is that generally not a good idea?

    • +1

      Hi,

Now I can build this in about 2.5 hours on my own. But as a novice, I would suggest you have 2 people and allow half a day (say 4-5 hours) as you want to take it slow and read through instructions to not make mistakes. You would also want a drill capable of holding the philips end.

As for pavers, many people go for pavers, timber floor and some just place on grass. Nothing beats concrete, but it is expensive. But at least with concrete you can anchor it very securely. If going on pavers, ask the hardware store if you can drill into them as probably still worth buying the anchor set to secure to these pavers which will add weight to the shed in terms of anchoring that way.

  • Thanks for the helpful information OP.

I bought one of these 3x3 sheds earlier in the year.
They are a good garden shed, was happy with how it went together.
They don't come with colorbond screws, so for the colorbond overlaps I used colorbond rivets instead.
They don't come with anchor tie downs in the kit.

  • Any 3m(w) x 2m(d) x 2m(h) options for 60% off?

    • 3.00m x 2.25 - $467 (in the coloured versions) - supposedly 38% off
Add $167 for 2.1m height option

      • was looking for something cheaper than that

  • Spewing there's no garages :(

    • We do sell garages at great prices too. Take a look at:
      http://gardenshed.com/sheds/sheds/garden-sheds/?filter_shed-…

      • Do you do any custom orders?

Looking for skillion any pitch approx 8x4x2.6 with 1 roller and pa door

        • Sorry, unfortunately we do not build custom sheds.

        • @bickfofj:

          Cheers
