  • Thx bargrn, great deal but the additional $50 Amex bonus is expired - maximum number of cards has already redeemed this offer.

    • +2

Per the AMEX deal, is it the max number of cards have already redeemed the $50 or the max number of cards have registered for the deal?
I have registered but not used yet, so I think I still can use it.

      • Registered.

    • +4

Maximum cards have registered, but those who registered have until 4th July to redeem it.

  • The breakeven point to achieve maximum between $250 HN gift card and Amex $350 rebate is to get HN $250 x 7 = $350 x 5 at $1750 to get maximum.

That is if you have 7 amex cards and the register operator border to deal with your equations in a number of transactionsssss and if let you buy gift card.

you get $25 x 7 extra HN gift cards and $50 x 5 amex credit rebate. ~$1500 spend for $1925 HN gift card

Not bad if you look for big purchase later in HN

    • It says excludes gift cards.

    • Also, even if gift cards were allowed, you would still only have 5 transactions so you would only get $25 x 5 and not 7.

  • Can I buy prepaid recharge???

Amazon factor kicking in for Mr Harvey..

  • Good deal on new surface pro then?

    edit: I'm thinking I might grab a PS4 Pro, price matched with JB's $509.

  • Xbone S 1TB for $378 looks ok, unless they will price match Big W on the 500gb?

    • I don't see any reason why they won't unless the local is out of stock.

    • It looks very ordinary surely.

      10 days ago you could have got a 1TB S + Halo Wars 2 + Fifa 17 + AC Unity + more for $329.

  • Is this available in store and online or just online only?

I've been eyeing a new stove but can't see online how much they charge for installation. A local newspaper for our closest Harvey Norman advertised $150 for delivery and installation. How do I go about packaging together the delivery and installation online? I can only see delivery.

Online chat said the offer is instore as well

Anyone know if you can spend existing gift cards on a purchase, and then get 10% of the amount back as gift cards?

  • So if you spent $380 you would get a Chromecast 2 ($38) for free. Do you get the gift cards on the spot?

    • -7

      Don't be unethical.

You wouldn't be able to return the original product without them either taking the gift card back or deducting 10% off the price.

      • +1

I wasn't asking if I could return it and get free gift cards, I guess you have answered someones question who is thinking of doing that though.

        • +1

Ok no worries mate just a misinterpretation!

  • +2

Has anyone had any luck price matching and then getting the gift cards? Seems stores are reluctant to price match and then offer the cards on top….this just bringing the products price inline with other retailers anyway! i/e GoPro HERO5 TGG $429…. HN $478 + 10% vouchers makes it $430

    • I'll try this arvo, if not i am walking away.

      • Part of the T&C of a "my offer" price match apparently. Keen to hear if someone manages to do it in store.

      • aldoduco have a read of my post below…what an experience. good luck with your local store.

    • Iv got a fridge 3000 bucks as a price match a tv 2000 pricematch saved over 1000 and still got $300 gift card for tv and 500 gift card for fridge no issue
And I recently got Dyson v8 as a pricematch and still got the $100 eftpos card

      • I think those would have been manufacturer incentives. This is a store incentive.

  • Looks like TGG have issued a simular promotion, ending tomorrow at midnight….

  • I bought a TV on Sunday for 3700 (expensive!). The TV however has not been delivered yet. Is there a way I can get these gift cards? Would be really useful to buy a sound bar or something.

    • Give them a call and explain, i'm sure they will give you a gift card to avoid the hassle of you cancelling and reordering?
      If not, cancel and reorder

      • Hartley normal charges restocking fee.

        • Is this even though the tv is still not delivered yet?

        • @manutd88: Yes, my receipt had the terms written on it. Check yours please.

          Ouch! Didn't know that :(

  • Does HN price match bundles? Target has their https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/314274 Nintedo Switch bundle and if it worked then I'd get Zelda with $25 off at HN. Anyone know if it'll work?

  • any good price for a dyson v8 absolute? is $636 the lowest i will see, previous binglee sale? guess as the offer is now over i cannot get harvey norman to price match its currently $749 at HN

    • V6 is $299 plus 10% back in vouchers

    • If you have AMEX offer on 2 cards, split into 2 payments and it will cost something like:
$749 - $100 ($50 AMEX credit per card for 2 cards) - $74.90 (HN store gift voucher) = $574.10 effectively. Not as good as the previous eftpos card offer which gave $90 and you don't have to spend it at HN.

      Good luck.

OK Managed to get vouchers with a price match, but very reluctantly!

Called my local store (Knox, VIC) to check stock of GoPro HERO5 which was confirmed and told it was $478 but today only additional 10% back in vouchers. I said TGG has it for $429 to which he replied yes we will price match, but then the vouchers will only be $42 instead of $48. So down I went to pick up, but on arrival that sales consultant i spoke with was busy so I was handed over to someone else. After researching online he matched the price, and then spent the next 30 minutes trying to upsell me product care, gopro accessories, and memory cards which I declined. When it came time to pay he advised me as they were price matching no gift cards would apply…which was contrary to what I have been advised so was of course quote annoyed. Off to check with the manager who confirmed only if TGG had vouchers can they match it… To which I replied yes they do…. $300-500 category = $30 voucher! So finally, after what seemed like an eternity of being talked out of a sale by HN they processed for a price match and then gave me vouchers not equal to 10% but equal to TGG offer, which was fine by me because it still allowed me to get the spare battery I wanted!

So good luck with your local store fellow ozbargainers!

So instead of being 60% higher priced this will bring it down to only 50% higher then other stores.

I hate Hardley Normal, I brought a printer from them 12 months ago.
JB HIFI had it for $69, Harvey had it for $149 with a $20 manufacture cash back promotion.
I asked can you price match, which he said I can do it for $89 so with the manufacture cash back it will be the same price.
I said no I will just go to JB HIFI so I don't have to stuff around with the cash back.
He said thats the best they could do until I said I will just go to JB and buy it again.
He then said OK we can match the price.
So with the cashback it cost me $49.

Exactly! never an easy experience, and they do their best to talk the customer out of a sale until you say your walking…

A couple years ago I bought 5 WiFi only ipads online. When I went to pick them up from store, they didn't have all 5 WiFi in stock. They honoured the sale and gave me 3LTE and 2WiFi for the same price without me even asking for it. The price I got online was very competitive as well.

  • Is this applicable to Moto g5 plus? Very tempted

  • How do you get the Gift cards, when you collect purchase?

  • Just noted that the Amex $50 credit offer excludes HN Business & Education (via Cashrewards)

  • Assume this is only for electronics ? Doesn't seem to mention furniture or bedding anywhere

    • last year i purchased bedding and got the vouchers, so cant imagine it will be different this year.

    • It is included, I literally bought one in store.

      • Ta, doesn't show on website.

  • Is the gift card stated on the tax invoice? Just wondering in terms of taxation purposes.

    • Yes was on mine this morning, as a zero value…wondered the same thing for TRS purposes.

      • So it does not state what the balance of the gift card is?

        • yes, it has the card value on the receipt. Tried to paste a screen dump of the receipt here but dont know how to post a pic in ozb forum.

        • @RB88:
Thanks mate. Need to post a url link of tinypic I guess for screen dump. Cheers.

    • Curious as to how to make a watch tax deductible :)

Just bought DJI Spark from Springvale HV.

859 - $50 from Amex offer - $85.50 from 10% HV discount - $77.31 from GST as I'm leaving overseas in the next 2 months + QFF points on my Amex card.

647 is the total I paid for this drone, same price with the US. Not too shabby.

    • nice work!

      • -1

Great deal, I tried to do same but no stores have stock and wont pre-order unless online and they wont offer 10% gift card on pre-order.

I also had two amex offers to use up so I could have got even less then you :(

        • whereabouts are you? they only have less than 5 at stock last time i was there.

        • @isaacskh:
In WA, all stores here (4) told me none have stock and not even in stock overeast.

          Only online.

Ah well, used my amex offer on getting my mum what she wanted the Dyson slim,…doubt the DJI Spark make her as happy :)

        • @bargrin:

the owner in springvale is a drone fan. he will be the first person who gets his hands on dji product.

  • Was going to buy a basketball hoop but apparently they are on a 'separate list of exclusions'.

Make sure you confirm what is and isn't included before you buy. I'm glad I did.

EDIT: If anyone else runs in to a similar problem, just ask for a 10% discount. They have just processed it for me after I questioned the exclusion.

  • Anyone know if you get the $50 AMEX credit if you purchase an e-gift card for $350 online?

    • +1

AFAIK, you do. Amex doesn't get any info besides the merchant and the value.
As the credit is processed on Amex's side you will be fine.

      • at my local HN they have a sign at the checkout stating you are not allowed to get the $50 credit on Gift Card purchase on AMEX use…but really i dont know how they (both AMEX and HN) going to find out?
