    Their pet insurance is worthless, you can't claim on anything. I don't think this is a good deal.

    • I have had woolies pet insurance for 4 years now.
      Their claims process is easy and painless and they pay within 3 business days.
      Not sure what your experience has been but I recommend them to everyone.

      They barely exclude anything and apart from a recent limit being placed on vet consultation fees they offer very good cover.
      I'm yet to have a claim refused or limited. They are very good and offer a very comprehensive cover

      FYI the insurance is underwritten by Hollard which is pretty much the major insurer in Australia.

      Medibank
      Real
      Woolworths
      RSPCA
      Bupa
      And many others
      They are all hollard.

      Not worthless, Woolworths

    • I don't think this is a good deal.

      I really don't think any pet insurance is a good deal.

      Better off putting the money in a savings account and earning interest until the day you need it, if ever.

      Deal doesn't really deserve a neg though.

      • If you put away let's say $600 a year which is average cost of pet insurance for a dog.
        4 years let's say that's 2400 saved plus interest.

        Dog gets hit by car
        Needs major surgery
        $8000 bill
        Insurance pays back 80%
        Think the insurance just paid for itself :)

          Dog gets hit by car

          That rarely happens, here's another much more realistic scenario for most people:

          Dog lives a long and healthy life and doesn't need any surgery or major treatments.

          You have been putting thousands of dollars away over the years just in case.

          You haven't paid any premiums, are earning interest and the money is there if there's an emergency.

          Saving in a bank account just paid for itself.

        • @Scab:

          Exactly. What sort of irresponsible moron allows their dog to be unleashed near a road with high speed traffic?

        • @Sir Casm: Its not always the owners fault u know.
          Mailman comes.. leaves gate open?
          Tradespoerson leaves gate open?
          Lots of reasons a dog can get out.

        • @Scab:
          Valid point, Insurance is for the "unknown" and its for that reason i have it.
          I had a dog pass away when i was quite young and it gutted me and i never wanted to get a dog again.
          My partner wanted one and i agreed only on the condition of Insurance. I never wanted to be in a position where putting the dog down was "cheaper" than surgery etc

          @jimbobaus:

          Postie entering a yard with a dog? What are you smoking? Also, who has a fence without a letterbox on it?

          Yes there are reasons a dog can get out but it's down to the responsible behaviour of the owner to prevent that - ie not let tradies into/out of the yard without assistance.

      "Their pet insurance is worthless, you can't claim on anything."

      How about a bit more support of your assertion because you haven't justified your neg. What bad experience did you have?

  • i was gonna sign up with wollies….but productreview does have a fair few bad ones.
    i mean yes, people post when it come to negative …but scoring a mere 2 STAR is not good enough to get my vote.
    I signed up with BowWowMeow…which is more expansive…but peace of mind hopefully

    • FYI
      BowWowMeow = Petsure (Hollard)
      Woolworths = Petsure (Hollard)

      Same Call Centre, Same staff… same claims experience.

      http://www.petsure.com.au/
      Has a pic on main page of all their "brands"
      Petsure runs the call centre etc..claims and conditions are the same no matter what
      Only thing that varies is "yearly claim limits" and cost the re-seller charges
