I found plenty still in stock. You're not looking hard enough.

      • -4

Idiots negging me because I proved him wrong, that's the ozbargain way.

        • They negged you because you didn't read my comment properly. I was more getting at the fact that TVs were in stock at TGG website, but not on TGG EBay.

Most of the Out of Stock ones were the most popular models / ones that hadn't had their prices jacked up.

          It's a scam of a sale. Disappointing.

  • +2

$100 more than appliances online for what i want

  • +3

    ACCC it is!

  • +1

    Shonky!

  • +2

Breville Oracle suddenly very expensive at TGG eBay… $300 more than their regular website and in-store price.

  • +1

Shame on you "The Bad Guys" for first time price jacking during eBay site discount. Bring back "The Good Guys" we used to do business with.

  • +1

After JB hifi took over TGG, The Good Guys literally become The Bad Guys…missed the good old TGG 20% offer

  • +1

Cheaper elsewhere including TGG's own website

  • +4

This is disgusting. Price Jacking is NEVER EVER acceptable!

    Negative Vote from me.

  • +1

Price jacking is unacceptable. No bargain to be found here.

  • +6

    Price jacking! reported to ACCC.

  • +1

Some spicy price jacking going on, GG Good Guys

  • +6

Wow. Pissing off their internet savvy customer base right before Amazon swoops in.

    Good one TGG.

PS. Major shareholders, vote me to be the CEO. I have no experience, motivation nor skillset to run the company, but at least I won't deliberately cock up the company.

  • +2

lol wtf is this prices all jacked up

  • +4

GG thegoodguys, made report to ACCC

  • +2

The Good Guys are not so good anymore.

  • +2

This deal will get in the OzB history pages as one of the worst TGGs deals ever! I used to be a fan of TGGs but they disappointed me today. This is beyond silly!

  • +2

So can we or did someone report these guys ?

  • +7

    Reported to ACCC

  • +2

Getting really sick of these price jack "sales".

  • +2

    Dodgy bastards

    • +1

      Ridiculous delivery charge.
Purchased from Appliances Online and saved $47 :)

  • +6

100+ negs. The people have spoken!!

  • +5

Everybody knows they jacked the prices and I always said that. Now more than 100 people negged this yet only my vote was revoked just because I put in a humorous way?

    • +6

      Mine was revoked too

      • +3

        Mine was revoked too

In total, 9 votes were revoked.

  • +9

I get more satisfaction from reading these Ozbargain comments, than getting an actual bargain!

  • +2

    pricke jacked… shame shame downvote

  • +2

    Jumping on Jack's bandwagon

    • +2

Me too! This Price Jack has to stop!

Reason: No bargain to be found.

  • +5

Looks like this will be the most negged deal in June.

    • -1

Deservedly so. Maybe next time the person submitting it on OzBargain will actually check whether there are any bargains instead of blindingly posting just so that they're 'first' to post.

      • +1

Most ridiculous comment ever posted on OzB, and reported for trolling.

        • Triggered

        • Did you check whether there were any bargains on the TGG eBay store before posting? Isn't that part of the OzBargain rules? If you did check, can you please provide an example of a bargain? No, you can't use any of the 'bargains' that were posted subsequently.

        • +8

@jelko: 0 posts and you're preaching OzBargain rules to me? Seriously?

  • Please follow voting guidelines. Negative votes that do not state a reason will be removed by moderators, even if the reason has been stated by others. If you want to cast your negative vote, you must type out your own reason or don't vote.

    • +5

Could we add a pitchfork button? 🔥

    • Uh-oh. Looks like the 109 NEGATIVE votes are going to be culled.

      • +3

It's the POSITIVE votes that should be culled.

    • +1

And then they immediately go and do more invalid negs below. I feel sorry for the team.

    • +3

How about positive votes that do not state a reason be removed by moderators? I'm pretty sure most of the 177 people that have given this a plus are completely clueless and haven't even browsed through TGG eBay store to see that they've increased most of their prices. So why is there so many + votes? Either that or they are all TGG employees.

    • +2

I did vote on mobile and there was no form to submit a reason. Obvious reason - price jacking. I've provided an example in this discussion earlier.

      • The reason should just be stated in a comment in the deal (which you have done), there is no separate form.

  • +3

    Price jacked up :(

  • Surprised to see so many downvotes. I had a few items from gg in ebay cart and the price of original items have not changed since last time + code worked well. Thanks op!

    • +1

There's always a vocal minority who think deals are only good if they're interested in that item. It doesn't matter that the items in your cart haven't changed price … those items aren't in their cart, so it's not a deal.

  • +1

Prices increased, products removed, no bargain to be seen here.

  • What happened to them? TGG ebay offers used to be good…

    • +2

They got sold to JB in Sept 2016. New ownership = new "approach" to eBay sales?

      • +1

Note to JB: just because all the other sellers jack up their prices during these sorts of sales doesn't actually means it works or people don't notice.

(at least I hope people have wisened up and not making purchases!)

  • +5

    Its a trap!

  • +6

Item (stick blender) was $98 yesterday, now $149 less 20% for $119.20 through the eBay site.

    Wrong!

  • -2

The truth is that eBay does not subsidise the full 20% discount, its split between the seller participating in these type of promotion, usually 50/50. That's the reason why some sellers need to increase the price just so they don't suffer a loss after paying the exorbitant fees to eBay and PayPal.

    Blame eBay.

    • +12

So? Thats not the consumers fault/problem. If thats the case then they should advertise it as a 10% off sale, or even a 5% off sale. Its just false advertising to promote it as 20% off when its nowhere near that (and in some cases its actually more than what it was before the 'deal'!).

      • -2

all I'm trying to do is to provide some insight into how it works with eBay with all these promotions and in some instances some sellers do suffer. I know its part of marketing to be a part of these promotions, but with the high eBay and PayPal fees, some sellers won't even make anything.

ok fine, do something about it. Report it to the ACCC.

    • +7

      How do you explain this:

Garmin DriveAssist 50 AUNZ LMT GPS

      Website $299 [https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/garmin-driveassist-50-aunz-lmt-gps-010-01541-40]

      Nothing but Pure Greed.

  • +7

    Is this a Joke?

Garmin DriveAssist 50 AUNZ LMT GPS

    Website $299 [https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/garmin-driveassist-50-aunz-lmt-gps-010-01541-40]

    • +6

The joke started when this deal was posted 😂

  • +8

I've posted on this site complaining about TGG before, and from memory I was heavily negged at the time. Nice to see people are waking up to the fact that they are a joke of a business.

Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

    • makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside

      Could be a heartburn

      • +1

        Any bargains on antacids?

  • Nice negative and price jacking comments here. When I made a thread about similar issue with one of my ebay orders, I got bullied. Nice Logic. SO when it happens to you its not ok..but its ok when other people are victims of price jacking..

    • You wanted a refund from eBay after you purchased it. I.e. you didn't do your homework on looking around and want others to subsidise you back.

These price jacking comments are different to your thread. These are merely telling ppl of TGG's dodgey practices, not asking for money back after they stuffed up.

  • +2

Someone is working overtime and replying with .. (dots) to the neg comments that he wish to be revoked. Name that someone!

  • +7

The mob has spoken… price jacking is NOT cool TGG… i would have been tricked into buying items thinking i was actually getting a 20% discount… thanks to ozbargain community i dont blindly purchase tgg items

  • +3

There shud b an option to change your vote, once you actually realise its not a bargain ! if so, the neg votes would have beaten the upvotes I believe.

    • +2

You can revoke (cancel) your vote but you cannot change it. Click here to revoke your vote.

      • +2

Done thanks, never thot i cud do it.. :-P
I could see better prices for the G5 which I was planning to buy and hence I upvoted. But I dont think it really deserves an upvote ccoz of the price jacking !

  • +6

    Disgusting antics

  • +7

My cousin was buying a new tv, in store it's priced at 1398, on the site it's 1998… how can they justify that crap when their normal price in store is 1498.

  • +10

Wth how is this even a promotion if the prices are cheaper on their own website.. Absolutely unacceptable marketing.

  • +4

It's pretty disgusting how blatant the price jacking is here, several things I have looked at are well above RRP and after the discount are the same price or cheaper elsewhere. This is some very bad PR for TGG, obviously they think we are idiots. My partner and I are moving into a new house and need about 15K worth of appliances, was waiting for a good sale at TGG before EOFY but now will take my money elsewhere, probably Appliances Online as we had some really good service from them recently. TGG won't get a cent.

  • +2

Soon some representative would comment to media something along the lines of:

there was a technical error and we apologise. We will make sure this —will— won't happen again

  • +7

Why is tightarse flagging any negs that he doesn't feel meet requirements

Does he lose internet points because this deal is getting negged to oblivion

    • +6

Exactly my thought, he shouldn't be taking it personally. He does great service to this community and a deal like this can't take it away from him.

The message is loud and clear to eBay and TGG that this c*ap has no place on this sacred website.

      • -3

I disagree. It's the job of the deal submitter to verify that it's actually a deal before posting on OzBargain.

    • +3

Mods are actively removing the invalid negs as per moocher's comment. I can't see any negs that have met the simple guidelines being removed.

  • +1

Prices jacked up for sale. Numerous items cheaper on their own website. No Deal.

    • For the items you are looking at, is it cheaper to buy on the website, or cheaper to buy on TGG eBay store after the 20%?

      • +3

Cheaper to buy from a third party. Even after the eBay discount

  • +6

    The Dodgy Guys!

  • I guess TGG don't want to pay eBay fees, charges and levies.

  • +8

Apply code CBAD to jack price further up 20%. Cheers!

  • +2

    20% Pricejacking

  • +5

What shitty business practices. They could have rolled in the sales. I wonder what idiot in there management got excited and wasted time getting there team to jack up prices. Absolute bunch of greedy morons!!!

  • +3

    NO MORE GOOD GUYS
Negative vote from me for jacking up the price

  • +1

    Price jacking, what a laugh.

  • +2

Jumping on the price jacking wagon… Sick of this..

  • +5

Those 170 people who blindly voted +ve please share what you bought that was possibly a bargain for all of us?

Are you they merely beeing sheep?

    • +1

Are you they merely beeing sheep?

You should ask the same for the neggers as right above you…

Jumping on the price jacking wagon… Sick of this..

    • +1

That was the TGG fifty cents brigade.

  • +2

Bait and switch (usual price - sale price). Fraudulent sale.

  • +3

Disgraceful from TGG jacking prices and hoping nobody notices, treating customers as gullible zombies.
